Okay but the symbolism behind using ‘dog days are over’ in the ending of the trilogy is perfect, because the song represents how they all flocked together because they were running, mostly because they lost someone important to them (“run fast for your mother, fast for your father”) and then, in the end of this movie, they finally stopped running and started working towards the person they always wanted to be

I've said it before and I'll say it again: GOTG have the smoothest, most planned, movie series with a satisfying ending.
[SPOILERS]
It shows that:
- the main male lead and female lead doesn't have to end up together
- endings doesn't have to be tragic or sad to be remarkable
- heroes deserve to be saved too
- people change, and that's okay
- keep the character arc constant throughout different movies
- give villain's minions some character and thoughts. When High Revolutionary's subordinate went against him? And that Ura girl? Amazing.
- some villains can have no sob backstory and justification of what they done and still be a good villain (story-wise), and audience don't need to empathize. It's ok if they just want to cheer heroes as they kick the villain's ass
- You can make good jokes WITHOUT undermining the emotional aspect. Go ahead, joke, but know where to stop. I feel that's what new MCU movies lacked lately.

everyone saying that gotg3 is the best thing marvel has put out since endgame is honestly extremely disrespectful.
gotg3 is so much better than endgame

one of the biggest cop outs ever is when infinity war was like “thanos started an apocalypse. half of all life forms instantly disappeared out of thin air. pilots. doctors. farmers. parents. government officials. superheroes. society should be in shambles & on the verge of collapse” and then endgame was like “lol no there’s some trash on the ground and everyone’s sad but that’s it”

happy three year anniversary to the film that ruined steve rogers character, killed natasha, had a vomit inducing forced “girl power” scene despite the whole film treating women poorly / as two dimensional love interests, made thor fat and extremely mentally ill just to make fun of him, put the final nail in the coffin for bruce banner by introducing professor hulk for nothing but shock value, didn’t allow gamora and nebula to kill their abuser even tho it was the original concept, and didn’t undo the snap—a decision that the mcu has been attempting and failing to clean up after since. yay

‘it’s just trendy to hate on marvel’ no. marvel has done this to themselves. they overwork underpaid and non unionized vfx artists, they don’t allow actors to have access to the full scripts, they gloat about continuity but don’t have consistency, very few of the writers care even slightly about the characters or the source material, and they have gone for quantity over quality / are overproducing their product to the point of consumer exhaust. they are a multi billion dollar creative monopoly that should be held accountable

I find it so refreshing that we are in this rare stage in western animation where disney is actually not monopolizing all the attention. If anything, 2022 has been one of their worse years yet in the animation department. Everything they have done has been completely eclipsed by other studios for once. Their Pinocchio "movie" was just obliterated by Guillermo del Toro's version. Strange World was completely forgotten because of poor marketing choices, allowing Dreamworks to come back with the Bad Guys and Puss in Boots, the first being very good and the second absolutely excellent (I'm being serious, this movie is SO MUCH MORE than a simple Shrek spin-off).
TMNT even got its time to shine with probably the best 2D animated film this year (in a technical aspect at least), rekindling an interest for the entire franchise (with another movie in production!!)
The Sea Beast was amazing. Wendell & Wild was a masterclass. 2022 has just been excellent throughout, and it's Disney that happens to be the weakest at the moment. Even the Minions 2 got more attention than most things that came out on Disney + Animation this year (not saying that the movie was great or anything, but it's saying a lot)
And when we look at the next Pixar movie coming out next year, the hype pales in comparison to the Mario movie, and let's not even TALK about Across the Spiderverse......everybody knows it's going to snatch everyone's wig, and all the awards under the sun to match it.
So yeah, western animation gets to breathe a little, and it feels amazing.

Marvel really be like hey lets overwork and underpay vfx workers and give them impossible deadlines then make fun of the bad job they do in our shows.

not Disney making a self-fellating joke about being in 'an era of peak tv' when they very nearly single-handedly destroyed creative media by cornering the market and pumping out formulaic and unoriginal content...

speaking of prioritizing het families/bloodlines over found family. lets not forget tony refusing to help out at first because he would lose morgan. like, one kid vs half the world's population, and they all just .. agree?? and were just gonna let it go?? even tho they ALL lost family/found families/friends?? hello??
not to mention the way bc of morgan tony also made the choice to not shift reality so the snap just didn’t happen/reverse it (saving the entire universe from five years of trauma) but instead chose to snap trillions of life forms back into existence creating complete chaos!!! and before u make the argument “but what about the other kids born after the snap”.......I parry with “what about all the kids left alone after the snap that died”

ah yes, what time is it? time I remind y’all that the avengers should have UNDOED the snap completely not just bring everyone back willy nilly so all those poor motherfuckers had to reinsert themselves into a post apocalyptic world where everyone has five years of trauma ✨

I know one can just ignore a certain plot point or decision by the writers and still enjoy the franchise overall. But what if that decision was something on a grand scale that makes the whole climax not make sense and erase years of writing and development leading up to it? If every character was done dirty and/or their decisions were pretty ooc? How am I supposed to enjoy what came before it when I know of the eventual unsatisfying ending to these beloved characters of mine? And the fact nothing will happen in future canon to fix this?
