you could have a look at the fythic (or, alternatively named, all those genders that are fluid and start with gender+f_) genders!

genderfloren is a fluid gender that is never fully male or female (similar to genderflor, but that is never male or female in the slightest)

pangenderfae (never male in the slightest) exists, so surely pangenderfloren can exist. adding flux might make it a bit long, so, pan-floren-flux? panflorenflux?

do you know of a term thats kinda like pangenderflux but instead of all genders its all genders but binary male/binary female? like for me my gender is always everything but 100% male/female but the intensity of certain parts of it fluctuates if that makes sense

I'm thinking something like pan-nonbinaryflux or panenbyflux (panbyflux?) I'm not sure what other terms might make sense for this.

petition-please help UK trans people!

hi tumblr-the conservative party is back at it again. 

currently, the GRA (gender recognition act) says to transition “legally”, trans people have to: 

 get two diagnoses of gender dysphoria (including one from an NHS gender clinic, which have a 2-3 year wait time currently), 

prove you have lived as your chosen gender for 2 years, 

swear to live the remainder of your life as such

and  do all of this in front of a “gender recognition panel”, a process which is very humiliating and largely depends on people deciding if you are “trans enough”. 

in 2018, the idea was put on the table to progress the rights of transgender people in the UK. Including: 

 allowing them to self identify as their chosen gender (including 16 & 17 year olds, who have previously been denied the right to)

demedicalising the transition progress, no doctors would need to diagnose gender dysphoria to transition.

removing the cost to have your gender legally recognised

allow non-binary identities to be recognised

it has recently been leaked that the current government has scrapped these ideas [source  source]. Our equality minister, Liz Truss, is horribly transphobic and wishes to backpedal on the few rights we have. 

trans people have said for years that the GRA is outdated and in need of reform, and have had the tiny ray of hope that it may be changed ripped out from under us behind closed doors. 

petitions on the parliament website are legally obligated to be responded to at 10k signatures and have to be debated in parliament at 100k signatures. 

only british citizens can sign this, but if you are not from the uk, please boost it so your british followers can see!

the issue is that people are using gay only to mean interest in men, and not other genders. my attraction to women is gay, i'm not a lesbian, i don't like men, and using gay as an umbrella term only for loving men is, in fact, exclusionary. that is the issue.

gay is not the counterpart to lesbian. and that was my issue with the wording on the flag post.

Proplydian / Proplydgender

where you have a distinct "core" gender/gender identity, and then a "disk" of many other [xeno]genders that surround it, like a young/protostar and it's protoplanetary disk.

the analogy can be expanded as needed, and could include things like:

having various stages of forming "planet" (full) genders in the disc, and vaguer/weaker/smaller "dust/gas" genders

the genders in the "disc" may interact and connect in beautiful and complex ways

a celestial feel to the gender as a whole, or a general connection to stars/protostars/etc

a sense the "core" illuminates the "disc" genders

the "disc" partially/fully obscuring the "core" (at times or all the time)

a sense of growth in any part of the gender, like it is forming or heading somewhere.

a sense the gender isn't quite.. "there" yet. it's heating up, but not ignited.

a feeling of heat, light, energy, radiation, etc. coming from the "core".

or anything else!

Median Terms

Parasian: Medians who are closer to the singlet side of the spectrum.

Mesosian: Medians who are in or around the middle of the spectrum.

Diversian: Medians who are closer to the plural side of the spectrum.

Orbital: A modifier to denote that a median system has a core.

Webbed: A modifier to denote that a median system does not have a core.

System Types

Masked System: A system that acts or is covert. It is difficult to distinguish the fronters of a masked system unless they explicitly tell you because of the “mask”. (The 🎭 emoji can be used to indicate that someone is a masked system.)

Maskless System: A system that acts or is overt. It is easier to distinguish fronters because there is no “mask” preventing fronters from acting as themselves.

I've been using Doe and Stag because I thought that it was better for bisexual people to have their own terms instead of borrowing the ones lesbians were using. I get that it's not wrong to use them but I always thought it was just bisexual people wanting to have their own terms since they've always been two separate identities.

well the funny thing is that the separation between women who were only attracted to other women and women who were attracted to women and other genders wasn’t really a point of focus until the rise of lesbian separatism and identity politics. 

lesbian and sapphic were terms that mainly referred to women who slept with women and that was it. before lesbian and sapphic, “tribade” was the word of choice during the 1600s to the 1800s, and it came from the word “tribadism” which literally means scissoring, i.e. the sexual act. so tribade, lesbian, and sapphic weren’t really identities so much as they described women who had sex with and had relationships with other women. there was no distinction besides that. 

the first time bisexual was used was in Charles Gilbert Chaddock’s translation of Psychopathia Sexualis which was one of the first books written on sexual pathology in the 1800s. before this, bisexual was usually used to mean hermaphroditic, usually in reference to plants. this was the first time the word was used in reference to people who were attracted to multiple genders. this wasn’t an identity yet. bi/lesbian women were always in a shared community and they organized and convened under “lesbian.” before the 60s, when studies were talking about lesbians, they usually meant all sapphic women. and of course when butch/femme started cropping up in gay bars circa the 50s and 60s, bi women were at those bars, in those spaces, using those words. 

it wasn’t until monsters like sheila jeffreys and all the other cis white female lesbian separatists popped up in the 70s and coined the term “political lesbian,” i.e. women who don’t fuck or fuck with men. it was seen as necessary for women to only engage with women who have cut all their ties to male privilege. this included cutting out bi women (bc they fucked men), trans women (bc they were thought to still be men), queer women of color (bc of their activist work with men of color and their inability to exclude men from their politics), and a whole other slew of marginalized identities. 

((and for a quick bit of irony: lesbian separatists often critiqued the use of femme/butch by lesbians as well because they felt it was a symbol of oppressive patriarchal standards and a way of replicating heterosexuality)). 

so of course right around when the stonewall riots were going on, bi groups started appearing because they were effectively shut out of both gay and straight communities. LGB created the distinction between lesbians and bi people. and if you skip to now, whenever people do research on the history of lesbian identities, they read “lesbian” as “women who are only attracted to women” and assume that bi women are excluded from that history when in actual fact they were right smack in the middle of it the entire time. that’s where people on tumblr get mad at bi women for “co-opting lesbian terms” and “stealing from lesbian history.” 

doe/stag were coined as a way to mirror femme/butch because bi women erroneously think that femme/butch are not part of their history. the fact that bi women feel the need to come up with/use doe/stag and steer away from butch/femme is the exact kind of thing TERFs and lesbian separatists wanted to accomplish in the first place. they wanted to treat bi women like traitors who would not relinquish their heterosexual privilege and thus posed a threat to lesbians everywhere (which, needless to say, is horse shit). 

so all that to say, it’s not better for bi people to come up with their own terms because butch/femme were terms used by bi women since their inception. you don’t have to feel like you can’t use those words as if they’re not yours because they are yours and they are a part of your history. anyone who attempts to make bi women feel guilty or wrong for identifying as butch/femme are likely regurgitating TERFy rhetoric they’ve found floating around the internet without realizing it.

Could you make a tenebranine flag? It's an AGIN gender that's kind of like trying to make out a shape in the dark, particularly at night. It's difficult to see and uncertain. (It comes from the latin word tenebra, tenebrae, f.) Thank you so much! I love how your blog embraces genders associated with natural things! (Also, this is probably associated with being nd, since my confusion with gender is too, but idk, it's all weird!)
