My name is Steve. I'm first and foremost what the title says, a Christian, a Feminist and a Daddy. I see no conflict between any of these three.

This isn't really about the Spiderverse movie as much as it's about how disappointing the Infinity War Story arc was to many of the people in my life. I had no idea, and this was really eye opening. It was somewhat easy for me to imagine the empowerment that my POC friends must have felt watching the construction of the Kingdom of Wakanda, a world where there was a powerful nation IN AFRICA free to take shape and establish sovereignty without the stain of colonial rule. It completely and totally blew past me, I'm ashamed to say, that this entire vision, the universe, the world, was completely bulldozed over only 2-3 months later in such a brutal yet offhand fashion. I mean, I already had reason to be pissed at Infinity War. This just makes me sorrowful. And embarrassed that I didn't see it before it was pointed out in this incredible article. I purpose to take this awareness with me into future Marvel movies.

"Josh Harris’ documentary, released last month, is titled 'I Survived ‘I Kissed Dating Goodbye.'' When you watch the documentary, you realize that the I in the title refers not to those who were harmed by the book and made it out with scars and painful memories, but rather to Harris."

So what really happened last April? It's come to my attention that the picture was never made clear, and that I have allowed others to paint the narrative for me and my friends. Not any more. We're speaking up.

I'm gonna go ahead and recommend that you put the new She-Ra on your daughters' (or sons') Netflix watchlists, because I think it's amazing.

This is a great resource! "When asking questions to church leadership, the rule of thumb is to avoid subjective terms about “belief” or “stance” which can mean different things to different churches. Additionally, remember that “feeling” or “thinking” questions are unhelpful. Don’t ask how a church feels about a particular group. Don’t ask about what a church thinks about something."

"If your spouse truly convinced you, briefly and just as a joke, that they had gotten rid of your dog, or emptied your life savings and lost it all gambling when you were just about to buy your dream house, or jeopardized your anticipated promotion at work, that might represent a turning point toward divorce. It would certainly let you know you were married to an unsafe person."

While I have a great deal of cynicism and side-eye when it comes to the road he took to get here, I believe I'm genuinely happy with Josh's destination.

“We may never know the full extent of his double life as a sexual predator,” Constand wrote, “but his decades-long reign of terror as a serial rapist is over.” Do I take pleasure in the thought of an 80+ year-old man in prison? No. Do I want every man in the United States to have pause to consider the potential that his actions could land him in prison for the final years of his life? Definitely. Do I want every man in the United States to be as completely terrified of the consequences of sexually preying on women as women are of being preyed upon? Absolutely.
