Hello there! I’ve been eyeing your blood for some time, and I gotta say that I’m deeply curious about Ayako Mekaru, the child of my two favorite DRA characters of all time. Unless it contains spoilers, may I ask for some information about her? The curiosity is killing me!

Aside from that, here are some pretty basic facts-- I have more that im not sure are spoilery, but I need to run them by my co-creator first;

Ayako is 21 years old as of the killing game. Some basics about her are that she is 5'2" (5'5" in heels) and she weighs 63kg, which is about 139lbs.

Her talent is Ultimate Model, and she works with(and is close friends with) Haruto Otori, whom is the ultimate Fashion Designer.

Speaking of, the two of them have known each other for at least 5 years.

She had a little brother named Daiki. Had due to the fact that he died. His death lead to Tsurugi leaving, and to Ayako using her mother's maiden name instead.

Ayako is actually fairly muscular! not to the point it shows, but she does a lot of heavy lifting to help Haruto out. A bonus fact is that her corset isn't just for show.

There were a few concepts of her having other connections to members of the cast. Said concepts were scrapped due to it being determined that she had too many connections.

Hey Mika! Since it’s ✨Officially ✨Pride Month, I’d like to ask if you have any sexuality headcanons for any of the DRA/SDRA2 characters?

I feel like all of my headcanons are pretty basic in regards to sexuality/gender, but here they are.

Yuki Maeda(DRA) - Bisexual, although with a HUGE male lean.

Satsuki Iranami - Pansexual and Genderfluid. (yknow that "Transjester" meme? THat's her.)

Kizuna Tomori - Lesbian but she's so far in the fucking closet. Also, lots of internalized misogyny so she thinks something's wrong with her for liking women-- basically tries to force herself to be attracted to men sometimes.

Kiyoka Maki - Bisexual, although she primarily dates men due to not having realized her feelings about women aren't normal for straight women.

Rei Mekaru - Demisexual/Demiromantic. I think she'd only feel romantic/sexual attraction after getting to know someone for a long time, but she's never had time to bond with anyone before.

Tsurugi Kinjo - Homosexual but that man is so fucking far in the closet that he would marry a woman just because it was "the norm."

Kinji Uehara - Asexual. I think he's bisexual, too, but he never acts on it.

Haruhiko Kobashikawa - He's like Andrew Garfield. He's straight, but if he gets the Urges. He will not be opposed to acting on them.

Sora - Pansexual. she's got no lean she's just got interest in most everyone.

Yknow. In all my years in this fandom. I dont recall ever writing a satsuhiko fic. Ive written tsurei, terurei, kinjomae, hatamori, kiyozuna(is that the ship name?), hell i even wrote rei x haruhiko in a crackfic, but i dont think ive ever written satsuhiko. Despite the fact that its been a ship of mine since my first year in the fandom.

While I wouldn’t go so far as to call Vivziepop a fujoshi or fetishizer, she doesn’t really seem to understand the nuance between queer people and their identities. She seems to categorize various sexualities into one little box, and any character with the identity is automatically assigned specific traits. Pansexuals are all extroverted, flirtatious and promiscuous (Blitzø, Valentino, Asmodeus, Beelzebub, Verosika, Chaz, literally all of the succubi and incubi) and gays are effeminate, horny, and dramatic (Angel, Stolas, and Fizzarolli). At least Husk is normal. To her credit, her bisexual rep is actually pretty good. She’s got a variety of characters with different personalities with that label.

No, I won’t talk about lesbians, because there is literally nothing to talk about.

Her Ace rep? Meh… it’s not the worst, but I’ve seen better. Alastor is fine, Mammon is fine, and Octavia is fine- understandable, even.

Something I’ve yet to be seen addressed in the critical community is how repetitive the MLM ships in the Hellaverse are. This is something I’ve noticed ever since the Helluva Boss pride month art dropped, confirming that Asmodeus was pan and Fizzarolli was gay. Now, I expected Asmodeus’ sexuality, but I was honestly surprised with Fizzarolli, even if there wasn’t any particular reason as to why I was surprised.

When I began thinking about it more, however, I realized we’ve seen this exact dynamic before: in Stolitz and Huskerdust (I know they’re not actually canon, but let’s be real, they will be eventually). In each of these three relationships, we see an effeminate or non-masculine gay man falling in love and bottoming to a more traditionally masculine pansexual man. Bonus points for how the gay has some kind of tragic backstory and requires the pan to come to his rescue somehow.

As much as I hate to psychoanalyze Vivziepop, a literal stranger whom I know nothing of as a person, these similarities, intentional or not, lead me to believe that she has some kind of kink for this. What do you guys think?

P.S.: I also fear how they’re going to portray Vox x Valentino (who is, unironically, a pansexual man). Granted, I thought it was confirmed somewhere that Vox is bisexual, but who knows what they’ll make him at this point?

Huh, I really didn’t expect that at all! I assumed most would be in the 18 to 24 range or 13 to 17 (which I fall under). Granted, I probably should take these results with a pinch of salt, given it’s the internet and I can’t prove the authenticity of these votes, but I’m going to trust that most people were honest. Still, it’s great to see that it’s mostly adults who watch the Hellaverse! At least on Tumblr, it seems. 😅

Kindle

Well here we have it. One last design to complete the class. Rounding things off with Kakeru.

Kindle is a kirin and bull hybrid. He doesn't have a cutie mark because of this.

I originally was going to make him a bull, but I couldn't resist giving him some kirin traits-it fits his courtroom persona too well! So he does have the ability to produce flames, if only a little. It's localized mainly to his horns and eyes. His hooves probably get a bit hot as well, but not enough to set fires or cause damage.

He has a little bit of plating on his back in little bursts.

I tried to get as many flame motifs in here as I could haha

A Canterlot courtroom isn't exactly the place you'd expect to see somepony like Kindle. But despite the countless uppercrust unicorns he's surprised, he's still made a name for himself as a lawyer.

His spirit is matched by his fire, and he's made it his goal in life to defend those who need it most. Because of this, he's gained a lot of nicknames in legal circles. Such as the "Blazing Bull" (or "Raging Bull" by his less gracious opponents)

However, despite him having managed to make several connections while working in Canterlot, such as the stern Saber Frost, or the insightful Stardust siblings, it's not a place he'd call home.

For outside of the courtroom, Kindle struggles to keep and hold friendships and communicate with others. The fast pace of the city, and the often shallow or elitist nature of some of its residents, doesn't mesh well with Kindle's nature, or his being a fairly nervous country-pony whenever he's not practicing law.

After all, Kindle's heart lies in his hometown. The place he grew up, and where his family, including his younger sister, live. It's for them that he became a lawyer in the first place, even if it takes him far away more frequently than he'd like.

He's met many ponies in the course of his travels, but only two have ever really stayed by his side beyond the friends and family back home. Mourning Dove, and Mercy Suture. Both of whom had similar experiences, traveling all over Equestria for their talents while always keeping home in mind.

The quieter, calmer pace of their conversations made it simpler for Kindle to be himself without worry. And the three of them are regular penpals, who often meet up to see each other across their travels. Whenever Kindle finds himself in a new town, he always looks for local gems to grab a bite with his friends. Donut shops and diners are his favorites.

Whew. The set is finally complete... Somehow, Kakeru seems like a perfect final pony here. If you're curious, Midori would also be a cow-kirin hybrid.

I've made 18 of these designs so far. Though they're definitely imperfect, especially some of the earlier ones, I've had a great time working on this silly little project. It's been really good just making art for the fun, and getting better at not worrying about how good the pieces are or how niche it is haha.

I'm definitely not done with this AU of course! Now that I have names and designs down for everyone, there's definitely some more things I'd like to draw, and moments I'd like to visit for this. What can I say? I've liked ponies ever since I was little, and got drawn right back in this past year.

Maybe if I'm feeling really brave I'll share some written stuff? It's a bit intimidating going from what I usually post to something as silly and niche as an mlp crossover AU though I have to admit haha.

Believe it or not, Quicksilver is one of the fastest ponies alive today. It's not a secret, by any means. But she's not likely to bring it up unprompted, and thanks to her decision to remain mostly anchored to her hometown instead of pursuing a more star-studded career, you probably wouldn't know it.

For Quicksilver, there was always somepony else to keep up with, or catch up to. As an athlete, that competition made her strive to become better. And with a dream to represent her hometown in the Equestria Games-and bring home the gold-she drove herself hard.

Her passion was commendable, but it often led to her leaving other things in her life behind. Friendships, and other hobbies were neglected for the sake of getting just a bit faster. Just a bit stronger. Unfortunately, there's only so far one pony can go on determination alone.

After stretching herself too far over events, training, and pushing the limit one too many times, Quicksilver was forced to stop. During one particular race, she injured her wing badly, and was forced to take time to recover, and rest, for the first time in far too long.

It stung, watching other ponies begin to outpace her in her absence. But it turned out that a broken record wasn't the end of the world after all. And in those moons spent in recovery, she made a friend or two, ones she felt understood her. Despite how 'awkward at communicating' she considered herself to be, they liked her, for her.

So when Quicksilver at last returned to the skies, she kept those friends close, and resolved to hold herself back. Of course, she never gave up on that dream of hers. But whether she reaches it or not, she knows she'll have ponies cheering her on regardless.

And there we have it! Though this might have been obvious from Kizuna's entry, she's from that same town Kizuna comes to appreciate, and which Kiyoka calls home. This design came fairly easily once I settled on the thoroughbred idea. Though I'm still waffling over how much detail to add to these each time.

I also feel like these silly pony names have either been immediately right on the money after I settled on them, or kinda 'ehh is this even a good name' with no in-between haha. Quicksilver is kind of in the latter category but it's, okay. It's no Saber Frost, Kicks Horseshoes, or Radiant Ember /silly

Anyways, just one more to go! Woah, that's kind of surreal given how long I've been doing these... Like I said before though, this little au project won't stop there, probably! At the very least, it hasn't left my brain just yet haha.

Back to my pony shenanigans. Kiyoka's turn today!

Notes:

-Sunshine is an expert in using tools and weapons, especially ones made by and for earth ponies. She has a small axe and a pair of bolas here.

-She's very skilled with things that require precision throwing like axes, bolas, lassos, and boomerangs.

-she has vaguely clydesdale based markings

-wears a bandana, uses it to keep her hair up sometimes.

-her cutie mark references sharpshooting with a target/crosshair/star theme.

So Sunshine (nickname "Sunny") lives in the small town mentioned in Starlet's bio. It's a rural town (think something like Appleloosa or Ponyville) kinda out in the boonies and founded by earth pony farmers. It might be the same one Dove grew up in as well. Honestly, I might just merge more of the potential towns mentioned once I think about it more lol.

Because the town was founded by earth ponies, it has a lot of their traditions and things like that. Sort of like Ponyville. For example, there are a lot of tools and skills only applicable to earth ponies that the townsfolk specialize in.

This is probably what led to Sunny's talents being centered around accuracy and general proficiency with such tools. Though Sunny never really wanted to be known for weapons or fighting, at the end of the day, that side of her skillset always seemed to draw the most attention.

She also has a younger brother who is a lot less enthused with the small town life haha. Whenever she goes on trips to Canterlot or other towns he always wants to tag along, but tries not to admit how interested he is.

I didn't think about the colors too much on this one but I think it's a nice enough palette. I also considered giving her the cowboy hat she has because it does fit but I eventually decided not to haha. Maybe she still wears it from time to time. It is funny how nigh identical it is to Applejack's though.

Honestly, I still find drawing ponies to be a struggle even after so many of them for this project. The anatomy of the legs and proportions are very funky to stylize and I still haven't gotten to a point where it feels like I've hit the nail on the head haha. But I'm still enjoying it and trying to wrap my head around it using resources others have made. Honestly it's almost more cat than horse in a weird way?

I'm pretty happy to be drawing more frequently and sharing them so my focus probably should be on my rete id improvement haha. I'm trying to get better at being fine with imperfect or cringy art and just focusing on enjoying it when I can, y'know? Kinda one of the reasons I made this account in the first place haha. I do feel like to that end I've come a ways since posting the first one.

I'll stop my rambling here for now though. Only Mitch, Kakeru, and Ayame left to design!

Kicks Horseshoes

I'm on a bit of a roll I think haha. Time for everyone's 'favorite' football (buckball?) star Mitch.

Notes:

-He has a buckball here, but I'm not sure if that's his main sport per se. He's probably just as good with hoofball (which I think is the MLP equivalent of football/soccer haha) or other similar pony sports. -His cutie mark is pretty simple. He kicks things.

-He still has that gay-ass earring of his, of course.

-I gave him markings that have a 'scorched' vibe.

Side note, I think I finally figured out where the knee belongs on these cartoon horses haha. Progress. Only Ayame and Kakeru left!

Though don't think I'll be done with this au after doing all their designs, ofc! I'd love to share some of the little moments I have in my head, and maybe some group dynamics as well if I have the spoons for it, at some point.

Kicks is a renowned athlete who quickly rose to fame. He's most known not for agility or strength (though he isn't lacking in those departments either) but his bucking. To the point he adopted a nickname given to him by his fans referencing it.

Unfortunately, Kicks' talents didn't come alongside him being a good team player, or even really a teammate in general, and making things worse, his pride became pretty inflated with all the attention he was getting.

After several years of top-tier games, his personality ended up pretty atrocious, and he ended up getting thrown from team to team, taking whichever offers suited him at the time. (And ignoring the fact that a lot of the team swapping was probably related to his inability to connect and cooperate with his compatriots...)

If that wasn't bad enough, he quietly gained a reputation for being a complete ass when it came to mares. Turns out, being famous wasn't enough to land a date, and eventually, the ladies started to avoid him like the plague. Embarrassed and selfish, he even tried to woo ponies in his professional sphere, which led to several conflicts, the worst of which occurred when he attempted to win the hoof of a maid working at a hotel he was staying in.

For most ponies, that kind of situation would cause one to reflect, but Kicks continued to forge ahead. Though his attempts to ingratiate himself with the mares stopped, Kicks never slowed down for a second, until the time came when he was forced to.

That moment came in the middle of a championship for his hometown. One of the last places Kicks still felt welcome. In a twist of fate that even Kicks still doesn't understand, he doomed their chances of winning completely by himself.

Even his fellow athletes couldn't figure Kick's abysmal performance out. It wasn't a bad day, or one or two poor decisions on the field. It was a disaster one could only see happening thanks to complete incompetence, or intentionally.

So, Kicks was leveled with a serious accusation, one that threatened to throw him off the stage he had known for so long. But he had nothing to prove he hadn't attempted to throw the match, and after burning so many bridges on and off the field, nopony came to his defense.

Saying Kicks was 'retired' wouldn't quite be accurate. But maybe, away from the spotlight, and finally forced to confront his own actions over the years, even a two-bit pony like him could change a little. Well. We can only hope, anyways.

Look, I know. A big backstory for this guy? I'm not sure how either, but I had a lot of thoughts, haha. It's kind of fun thinking about him being a disgraced athlete. (you can blame a certain fic for that I suppose haha) It's also interesting to navigate what to tone down when inserting this cast into Equestria... Kinjo and Mitch's backstories were certainly unique in that way. Making things a little more PG without removing the core? I guess.

Alright y’all, I just did something completely out of my norm: I watched a danganronpa fan game.

I know a large portion of my blog has been dedicated to DRA (specifically Rei Mekaru), but honestly, getting into DRA was kind of a happy accident. I’ve never had much interest in exploring the fanganronpas and was content to stick with mainline Danganronpa and DRA. And that worked for over two years! But all has changed now…

I’ve been aware of the existence of Project: Eden’s Garden for some time now, but like I said, I never paid any attention to it when the prologue dropped a couple years ago. It just didn’t seem like it’d be something I’d enjoy. Thus, I ignored it.

However, I’ve been exposed to the buzz surrounding this fangan once again with the release of its first chapter. I don’t know the contents of said chapter, but I saw a lot of praise being given to it. Thus, with nothing better to do, I finally decided to go check out P: EG on YouTube, starting with its prologue.

And what do you know? I loved it. Everything about it is so high quality; the art, the character sprites, the voice acting, the smooth game controls- everything about it is just so perfect! The concept of a mock-trial prior to the beginning of the first chapter is something I’ve never seen before. That, and I love how the protagonist, Damon Maitsu, is an unashamed arrogant douchebag who looks down on most of the other ultimates. It’s such a breath of fresh air from your usual “hope-filled, fish-out-of-water” protagonist.

But my newfound love isn’t in the aesthetic and originality. Oh no, my love for this game is rooted primarily in this motherfucker:

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Wolfgang Akire. The moment this man appeared on my screen and spoke his first lines was basically love at first sight. This love would only grow and strengthen as the prologue progressed and I witnessed how kind, patient, empathetic, and level-headed he was compared to the rest of his class. It also helps that his voice is quite handsome and he’s proven to be a lil’ cray-cray.

Anyways, I can’t describe to y’all how down bad I am for this man. I want him so badly it’s not even funny. Every time he popped on screen my heart soared and my brain released endorphins. I’d massage his back once he comes home after a long day in court. I want to wake up in bed with him sleeping soundly beside of me as I gently play with the strands of his messy hair, careful not to disturb him. If he manifested into reality at this very moment, I’d hunt him down and take him to pound town. Y’all gotta save me from myself. 🥹

I’m honestly not that attached to this game’s cast. Tragic, I know, but so long as my husbando is here, I’ll stick this game out for the long run. And even if he does (almost inevitably) die, I’ll still keep following this game because I desperately need to expand my horizons beyond DRA, as much as I love the game and the titular Rei Mekaru and Tsurugi Kinjo.

Don’t be surprised if y’all see me thirstposting for ol’ Wolfie here in the near future!

Oh, and as one more thing, I’ve been thinking about ships and whatnot lately, and y’know what? When you have two favorite characters from media that you love so much, what do you do? That’s right- make them kiss.

So, to anyone interested, what do you think of the crossover pairing of Rei Mekaru x Wolfgang Akire? I mean, Kinjo and Mekaru I ship together because they’re my faves, so why not Rei and Wolfie?
