What’s Next?

This year has been anything but predictable. We get hit with a pandemic, We get locked down, there's no graduation, prom, parties (not that I would have gone). With all this time we now seem to have, it’s been a good opportunity to sit and reflect. For some that brings positives and some that brings negatives, I found it brought both. It gave me the chance to really sit down and look at my life in a bigger picture. What path am I on? Who am I surrounded by? Am I happy? It took weeks to answer the questions I once thought were mindless, until I came across a quote that really turned my thinking, ‘Be someone your younger self is proud of’. As I sat there, surrounded by tissues, pillows and blankets. Just wishing for something to come along It did. It all hit me like a bag of bricks, I wasn’t someone my younger self would be happy with. I had achieved none of my goals. Instead of making new friends, going out and experiencing life, I surrounded myself with boyfriends who didn’t have the same goals and morals as me. I made the decision to move for school, despite being online. I broke up with my long term boyfriend, and now I feel like I can start fresh. I messed up every opportunity I could have had in Highschool, but I’m ready to change that now. I want to live life, I want to be like the people in movies smiling, having fun and making memories. I just have to figure out what’s next.
