I should draw his sword and shield.... but I also like the idea of him taking weapons of fallen Grey Wardens when he can't bury them. That way they can still fight against darkspawn and blight.

✨Rook's Room✨

Wanted to design what I though Mercer's room would look like in the Lighthouse! He loves to preen, and hates filth, so he set up in a little bathhouse. But puts in the work to get it functional again. It starts out as a boarded up old pool.

Saboteur Rogue

Very intelligent and sort of professorial vibes. A conversationalist and diplomat. Hates violence. Hates the sight of blood even more, but went undercover within the Antaam Army in Treviso to pass information to the Crows.

He was discovered, and the Crows sent him away for his own safety.

Bastian builds weapons, and gadgets and while he's an archer in game in my head he wields a big ass gaatlok cannon as his main weapon that he calls "The Last Word." Because if he can't win an argument then he always has The Last Word.

And again. Hates the sight of blood, but if he has to get his hands dirty then he'll do it from real far away!

Veilguard has GOT me. There's things I love about the game. There's also things I'm disappointed with. But it's genuinely a fun time.

Like I haven't even finished my playthrough with my Grey Warden and I've started 3 additional playthroughs so I can have characters in the other factions too...

Additional Grey Warden Headcanons

I fucking love grey wardens so I have so many thoughts and headcanons.

I think it would be really fun sexy if Wardens could sense each other like they can with blight. It's like another form of connection where Wardens can recognize each other in a way even if they haven't met. They just know "oh! They're a warden!"

Would make several wardens fighting together super effective since they can sense each other's positions and avoid each other or follow up on strikes.

Then taking it a step further 🤓

Sense8 style connection for wardens. Especially if they're close to another Warden they can dream of them and get insight into their experience/activities. They can feel each other across distances, and know when a Warden might need help. A double edged sword tho cuz that connection could be used to lure Wardens somewhere 🤔

Maybe it's all Wardens. Maybe it's only a handful. But I'm a big fan of the contrast in expectations. "Wardens are the bulwark against the dark and the protectors of the realm" to "Oh WTF that Warden fights like a literal demon"

In this case maybe some Wardens keep blood or an organ of a darkspawn in a flask to basically juice against enemies that aren't darkspawn 👀

(As if there wasn't enough ammo for hurt and comfort and angst with grey wardens lol)

The Calling for them is more along the lines of like beginning to feel that bloodlust even when there's no blight/darkspawn around. And the periods between their extreme aggression and violence becomes shorter and shorter.

It would also be kinda cool and sexy if some Wardens didn't go to the Deep Roads for their Calling, but to Weisshaupt. And despite their permanent bloodlust and aggression they're still geared towards slaying darkspawn. So there's a section of the Grey Wardens that just use these mindless killing machines (that still resemble the people they used to be) as these powerful attack dogs against darkspawn and blight 🤪

That Famous Grey Warden Charm

I had a thought, and I rushed to draw my Warden to talk about it. What if the Joining fucks up some Wardens. Like they're mostly normal, but part of their ability to sense blight/darkspawn is like blood in the water to a shark. A switch is flipped and the Warden becomes extremely aggressive, blood thirsty, and has bursts of strength/speed that seem inhuman. They fight like darkspawn in order to kill darkspawn. And then they regain their composure once the nearby darkspawn are dead.

I particularly love the idea of my Warden being just a ray of sunshine. The kindest man you'll ever meet. And then his non-Warden companions watching in astonishment as he becomes a different person in the presence of darkspawn.

I'm like genuinely truly fighting the urge to make him a Shadow Dragon in Veilguard lol. Like his close friendship with Dorian means he absolutely ends up doing work with the group Dorian helped establish.

Just cover my eyes for the 2 seconds the Inquisitor shows up in game lol

Working with Harding and Varric and going by Rook to try and keep a low profile up north 🤪 how much bending of the canon can I do before it breaks.
