made a quick little home-printed zine of @evercelle's mage!viktor comic that I haven't been able to get out of my mind ever since I saw it :'D

given the size of ax it's smart to be prepared haha!! still working on my catalog, but i'll have jayvik prints ("orpheus" and "our hextech dream"), foil washi, vinyl coaster, stickers, and an acrylic block set; i also made jayvik sticky notepads and a jvk zip pouch for two separate stamp rallies, so there's Extra Credit jvk available!!! pricing is stc buuuut roughly:

Oh damn--I don't know why, but I was under the impression you were an insanely fast artist. I ALSO take 15+ hours to do one art piece, so 🤝🤝🤝 (Honestly I love your art though, it's so pretty)

it can vary a lot...!! i think it was about 3 hours for the venti + dahlia draw (it's pretty simple and i can draw venti in my sleep) and the mage viktor comic i just posted was probably around 8 hours (cuz it's super stylized and paneling lets me cut out a lot of things lol). it's just full color paintings that take a zillion years O(--(

i try not to get too hung up on how slow i go tho, cuz unless you have to art on a deadline as a professional, who cares how long it takes!! as long as ur having fun and not torturing your wrists too much :')

it's open on thursday as well! weds is set-up day, AA is open thurs - sun (but closes earlier on sun). i'll be there all four days myself :)c

hello hello!! big admirer of your art, regardless of topic/fandom that you draw from. you have such a whimsical and lovely way you approach every character, your color choice, and most especially your compositions. it’s truly beautiful 🥺

i do have a question though! i’m someone who might be attending AX this summer and also know that, in past months, you were working on a second saiousai doujin if i remember correctly? (i check to see what you post on 🦋 from time to time) is that still a project you’re continuing, or has it been abandoned? and secondly, if not abandoned, what are the chances of it being sold at AX? regardless of the answer, i’m excited at the prospect of being able to purchase some of your work in person 🥹💕

to be honest i wrote the script for "ENCORE" two years ago, sat on it for a year cuz i couldn't make it work, thought i made it work, drew 116 pages to varying degrees of completion and started doubting if it worked again, then put EVERYTHING on pause for ax prep instead............ and now i've totally lost momentum O(--(

so i'm sorry to say it's pretty unlikely i'll pick it back up--my friend encouraged me to just post what i have, though it's a gross mishmash of completed pages, inked/missing tones, and completely sketch pages that are a Touch too humiliating to release lol so i'll think about it........

i'll have my old saiou stuff at AX + prints of a few draws + some new kitty saiou charms i ordered last year and forgot to actually sell lol so i've got some v3 rep at the booth!! i hope you'll enjoy it if you do come visit me... thank you for your kind words!!

how long does it normally take you to finish a drawing?

Very Long Extremely,,, like 15 hours for full color...? subtract 2 hours if they're not overdesigned hyv characters though lmao

thank you! and yes, tho i think the more practiced you become at something, the more aware you are of how much further you have yet to go :') i prefer flatter coloring without much rendering, so i'm still experimenting haha... i wanna make drawings that have richness in detail but i REALLY hate coloring so it's rather challenging to try to make something more interesting without getting murky O(--(

but if i put my first post on this blog compared to my current drawings it's kinda staggering. never give up!! with the power of anime and unrelenting brain worms, anyone can draw....!!!

this is a little random so i hope it isn't too much of a bother...i was wondering if you had any tips for preserving image quality when you post art?

there's not much you can do about image compression on socmed sites... but you can try:

check overall image resolution - i usually post images in the 1000px - 2000x range for any single side

diff btwn jpg (lossy) and png (lossless) file formats - jpgs discard unnecessary data resulting in smaller file sizes than png, but can lose image quality; conversely, pngs retain all data and result in larger file sizes, but support transparency and sharper quality and colors

i heard before that twt/tmblr compress images over 1mb. i don't know if that's actually true though.

save a websize version (72 dpi) - that's just so it's harder to take and print stuff if you don't wish for ur art to be used that way

depending on your drawing program (e.g. photoshop) it might have options for the quality/compression level when you save your image. if this is an option on csp i don't know how to find it yet lol

my favorite wings to look at are demizu posuka's drawings... check them out!! they draw such a fun variety of shapes and sizes

And your tutorials are SO detailed and helpful! I don't have any questions or anything, but I really appreciate it 💙

thank you + you're welcome!! i also really enjoy reading artists' "behind the scenes" or thought process/commentaries, so i think i end up doing the same and talking too much in these posts LOL but if it's helpful, i'm really glad!!
