dropping jisu
im keeping her as ex-jisu-ia just in case everyone else eventually goes through with it so that i can finish it up with them but other than that she's not around anymore; this account will be in use solely for iadeadinside replies and no other reason
sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, but it gives me a bad feeling to just leave her inactive like this waiting for something that doesnt seem to be going anywhere.

a post about jisu's activity level
i wish i could keep her since she was my first real rp character ever, but my inspiration for her continues to dwindle and it hasnt gone up ever since a few months ago
though there are times when i think i can pick her back up my inspiration disappears just as quickly as it comes, and its gotten so bad that keeping her character almost inconveniences me
so jisu will not leave insolitus until the event para finishes and i will continue paras with the current people im paraing with if they wish to continue
but she will not be as active as she used to be and not as active as jaehyo
typing this i already wish i could hold onto her character but i know that feeling will disappear soon
id like you all to know that i enjoyed jisu's interactions with other characters and theyre all very interesting; its simply that her character no longer intrigues me
thank you

Letting out a quiet exhale of relief when her apologies had been waved aside, she finally began to focus intently on what the man was saying.  The startling effect of having someone talk to her while she was reading was starting to ebb away a little—something she was thankful for, since her nervousness would only cause her to stutter more if she didn't find a state of calm or ease.  The man obviously was not someone who would judge her, seeing as he seemed to have a calm composure, and the courtesy he had shown in stepping backwards to allow her to stand made Jisu feel much more comfortable, since it seemed he wouldn't be rude even if she had just displayed so much awkwardness.
At his comment on the immense amounts of reading material she had brought with her, she grinned, for once allowing a sense of pride to bloom within her.  She was a quick reader, due to the extensive amount of time she spent doing so, and although it was quite a small thing to be proud of it made her quite content when she could talk about it.  "It wouldn't take too long," she replied, eyes curved in crescents.  "Maybe a few hours, tops."
She shook her head, a smile still on her face when he apologized.  "No, no, it's okay! I haven't really found anyone else who likes reading the stuff that I do, so it's nice to meet someone who takes interest in them." It was probable, judging from his words, that he was a teacher—English, maybe? And she thought for a moment that it was unfortunate, for if she had taken his class she might have finally found someone to talk about her favorite poets with.  The only reason she hadn't signed up was that she had been irritated by the fact that many people who took the class didn't seriously enjoy it, and that put her off a little bit.  "I've kind of spent a lot of time here reading, and no one really seems to enjoy doing that, so really, please don't be sorry! It's not a distraction at all—I really am happy to meet you."
Road Not Taken || Jongjin & Jisu
The silence that stretched after his question brought the tiniest hint of a smile to Jongjin’s lips. It was a miniscule change from his usual cool mask of an expression, but still there all the same. How easy was it to be caught within the web of words of a story? Tilting his head just slightly, he could even catch the title of it, part of a collection that he had been meaning to read himself for some time now. His eyes were pulled away an instant later as she realized that his comment had been aimed toward her.
Lifting a hand, he waved the apology away with a small shake of his hand. “By all means. I imagine most stories would be far more interesting than I, after all.” A trace of laughter threaded into the words. The reaper had come very rapidly to treasure stories after he had found the time to begin to read them again. He could easily sympathize with a girl just a little too caught in their magic. “It would take you quite a time to read more books than those there, don’t you think?”
As she stood, he took a half step backward, careful to give her enough space. Some people like him preferred to be given a wide radius of space; it was easier to attempt to honor that even for those who didn’t hold a preference. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to disturb you from your reading.” He lowered his head, almost a mirror of her motion, equally made from apology. It hadn’t been his intention at all, to impose upon her if she had come here to read in peace. He had just spoken without any real thought at all for his actions. “It’s just rare to find students who actually care to read literature for their own enjoyment. By all means, don’t let me pull you away from your reading.”

This old thing?! she thought, the awe only growing in her mind as she continued to gawk at the infinitely deep bag.  "This old thing," even if he had been meaning to do so, downplayed the magic she had just witnessed much too far for her to believe.  What kind of power must he possess if a bag as physically impossible as the one before her could be so casually referred to as "oh, this old thing?" Endless images of what she might possibly be able to use such a bag for continued to fill her with wonderment.  Books! So many books could fit in that bag! She could lug her entire collections of literature around with her without breaking a sweat.  The concept was something of beauty.  Maybe even she herself would fit in the bag, land on a wonderful pile of books, swim in books, dive into books, shower and bathe in books! Well, maybe the last bit was a bit too far but... still! BOOKS!
"This is so amazing!" she exclaimed, still overcome with shock from seeing the endless pile of books in his hands so easily filter into the opening of the bag.  "How did this happen? How did you get this? This is the solution to world peace!" At this point, she knew she was getting carried away but as far as she knew, she hadn't been this excited about anything since she had been a little girl, since before reaper training.  So, she would let herself get carried away, seeing as she almost never had been so enthusiastic about anything in her life.  "A turtle shell? You mean, you can like, live in it? This is so cool.  This is the coolest thing I have ever seen."
Words seemed to be streaming from her mouth at the speed of light but she was much too overcome with wonder to try and stop them at all.  This was, without doubt, a creation of beauty.  Curiously, she peered into the bag again, wondering if she should take him up on his offer.  What if her arm got lost? Well, that couldn't really happen since it was attached to her anyways.  What if she fell into the bag? That would just be an adventure, then.  There seemed to be no end to the optimistic possibilities of the bag, and so she nodded at him and smiled, excitement radiating from her in waves.  "Can I really? Am I allowed to reach into the bag? What if I fall in? Then what?"
Down the Rabbit Hole || Jisu + Dongwoo
Years ago when Dongwoo had first acquired his bag he, too, had been shocked by its powers. He was a being born of magic, but confined to a very tiny lamp at the time; he had been a good Genie that played by the rules and never swindled until that point, but every creature had their breaking point. Over his centuries he had only manipulated the wishes of humans for his own benefit, or the benefit of humanity, a few times. Generally, he played very fair—but the bag had, by far, been his greatest work of cunning. Unlike the lamp he had once been tied to, the rucksack was limitless—infinite, if you would. Within it’s confines there were corridors and rooms filled with shelves of books, tapestries, with trinkets lining the stair wells. Not even Dongwoo had been to every corner of the bag because it was constantly growing in area to accommodate the hoarding habits of its owner.
It had been centuries now, and the awe-factor had mostly left him, so he always found it amusing to watch the wide eyed reactions of strangers. This girl possessed a particularly strong reaction to the magic, which left the Genie also smiling and in high spirits. He stood up a bit taller, which was very tall at all when compared to other men, and beamed with pride. “Oh, this old thing?” he asked, downplaying the source of the attention, though he, too, was amazed by its properties. Opening the bag by undoing the buckles he held it other the small woman before him, showing off the fact that the inside was completely black, much like an abyss.
“It’s a magic bag,” he stated, though that much was obvious. “I’m the transient type, so I have to keep my house on my back, so to speak. Like a turtle! This is my turtle shell. You can reach in, if you want, though I’m not sure what you’ll pull out,” he offered, his smile friendly and inviting, as per usual. Dongwoo, by nature, was an incredibly warm and empathetic soul, and no stranger had ever been able to deter him from this behavior upon first meeting, regardless of their race and affiliation.

The boy seemed rather confused as Jisu stood up to ask him about his pet, and his eyes widened noticeably in surprise.  He muttered something quietly, almost too softly for her to catch.  His words confused her: was she not supposed to be able to see the creature? Were they both imagining things? Why was it so surprising?
Tilting her head in confusion, she furrowed her eyebrows at the other in hope that he would repeat what he'd said—she'd probably heard it wrong, anyways.  Instead, the other boy continued on to inform her of the animal's name, for which she was thankful.
"Miur," she muttered softly, rolling the name around in her thoughts for a while.  "That's very beautiful." Then, moving her gaze to him, she smiled gently.  "And you are...?"  She glanced at the now more relaxed hellhound and back to the stranger, who still seemed slightly caught off guard by the situation.  Not quite understanding, she fidgeted with her sleeves a little before asking for clarification.
"Was I not supposed to be able to see her?" she asked, her eyebrows still furrowed in slight confusion.  Tentatively, as she awaited her response, she returned her gaze to the hound and reached her hand out to pet it, although at the last minute she retracted her arm.  He'd said that it wouldn't hurt her, but it was best to ask for permission from him first—she didn't want to come across as rude.
Howl † Jisu & Tao
Tao turned at the voice, his eyes widening in surprise at the unfamiliar girl he saw standing there. She was shorter than him - but that wasn’t saying much since most people were - and she seemed kind of timid, but what really caught his attention was the color of death he could see in her aura.
The color of another reaper.
“You can see her …” he murmured, glancing down at Miur who’d paused at his side, her ears flattened down against her head as she watched the reaper girl warily. So that meant that his assumptions had been correct. Whereas none of the other students - even the demons - could see Miur, other reapers could. Intrigued, he stared at the girl, wondering why he didn’t even find her in the least bit familiar. Either she was incredibly new, or they’d just never ended up interacting for some reason. But whatever the case, she was one of the few reapers in the school besides himself, so of course he’d run into her before he’d had a chance to send Miur back to her realm to rest.
“Her name is Miur. She won’t hurt you,” he murmured, petting Miur’s head to get her to relax her offensive stance. He could tell at a glance that this girl was not a threat to him, and therefore Miur had no need to be on her guard. But still Tao stayed on his guard, unsure. He’d not spoken to many other reapers before, and suddenly he had no idea what to say.

His first words were forceful and harsh, but it seemed to Jisu that they were more directed to something within himself than at her.  Seeing as there seemed to be something trying to take over him that wasn't himself, the reaper thought that it might be in her best interest to leave—but that wasn't what she was used to doing.  For a while longer, she watched him carefully as his emotions fluctuated; the same one she had not been able to identify and then some kind of pain... loss, inevitability, skepticism, frustration.  They came one after the other, with such force that Jisu was almost sure they would knock her right off the edge of the roof.
Suddenly, his eyes squeezed shut and he finally turned to speak to her once more.  She longed to reach out for him, perhaps offer him a gentle touch for comfort, but it seemed that he would be easily set off in his current condition.  Suppressing that urge, she smiled softly and spoke, her tone soothing and even.
"No, it's no problem—don't apologize.  I was simply asking if I could be of any assistance.  You seem... troubled."
Of course, troubled was an understatement, and perhaps he would think she was stupid for using such a weak word to describe such a strong emotion, but she did not want to make it seem as though she felt pity for him or that she felt he was weak.  None of those were the reason for her concern, and both would probably anger him.  Quickly, she added, "Is there anything I can do to help you?"
Memoriam // Jason & Jisu
“Shut the fuck up,” he growled under his breath. The ebb and lull of his magic and own mental singing, usually so comforting to the nomadic male, were only serving to accelerate his instability at the moment. Facets of insanity. The rest of his family had succumbed to it in the end. No one in the line had ever died from old age - just suicide, or disappeared for many years until their bodies were found again, or, if they were siblings, gone one after the other like dominoes. Like it was some kind of infectious disease that only affected the one family. A genetic time-bomb.
In memoriam of the very first to try to extend their life. He scoffed internally, unsurprised if that turned out to be true. Rumours often had basis in reality, and the Jang family line were rumoured to be closely related to the insane idiot who tried to outlive his human lifespan. Coded to explode - it would explain the furious frenzy they all worked themselves into. Or maybe the frenzy was the reason, too greedy to realise they were destroying themselves.
But the line ends with me. If I should end. For he was not only uninterested in any form of relationship, but incapable. Unable to feel, to love or recognise love. The hybrid had possessions, could be protective of his things, but did not truly feel. Eyes squeezed shut to block out the flaring blue that would give away his fluctuations in stability, he finally returned his attention to the speaking female.
“I beg your pardon? Ah… Did I disrupt your peace? I apologise…”

As the boy spoke to her, she was finally able to see his face.  Her eyes had adjusted finally to the dim light on the rooftop, and for that she was very thankful.  But just as soon as the relief had come, a bright blue flare of light that seemed to emanate from his eyes burned at her vision, causing her once again to be unable to see her surroundings, and for blue spots to cloud her vision wherever she turned.
A little irritated by this fact but still more concerned than discouraged, she turned to look out over the balcony in an attempt to re-calibrate her optical senses.
Irritation continued to lap at her in waves, and it was only after a while of watching his jaw clench and unclench that she realized it was coming from him and not herself.  Of course—that made sense.  The whole reason he had come up here was to be alone.  Why else would one come to such an unfortunate rooftop during dinnertime?
Unwilling to just let him be, she watched him with furrowed eyebrows, trying to identify the wave of emotion that she had felt earlier.  This time, if he turned to speak, she would be ready for the bright blue glow of his eyes that pierced the darkness so effectively.  Now, though, it was not pure concern that made her stay—an undercurrent of curiosity seeped into her thoughts as well, and in response to his request, she stepped aside a few inches, watching him as intently as before.
Her voice was soft as she spoke; she was used to being able to comfort people and hoped that this was no exception.  "Well, if need be, I'll stay here until you're ready.  Is there nothing I can do to help?"
Memoriam // Jason & Jisu
It is, surprisingly, quite difficult to hold a conversation when parts of you are screaming death and burn over an endless litany of dictionary quotes. Ten extra points also to the mind that manages to wrap it all up with the whirlwind storm of an intellect that spanned several knowledge fields, erratically organised by an absentminded genius. He was rambling, but anything to shut it out.
”..kay?” Someone was attempting to communicate. It would seem that the people of this academy were utterly incapable of leaving him to rave alone, and he paused, waiting for a lull in the vocals to turn and speak.
“I apologise, ma’am.” Another flare of blue in his eyes as it peaked, and his jaws clenched together, waiting. It passed. “I am… Not in a state to talk, if you’ll pardon me.”

Immersed in her books, Jisu was completely oblivious to the sound of leaves crackling under various students' footsteps as they walked through the woods, passing by her without sparing a second glance.  She had just finished up to the halfway point in the first anthology when a voice rang out among the silence.
At first, her focus had lingered on the book as she flipped the page, ready to start reading the next work, which was a short story—The Masque of the Red Death.  It just so happened to be one of her favorites, and the familiar opening lines drew her in just as quickly as she realized the voice had been addressing her.  With a start, she let out a small yelp and looked up.
"I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to ignore you! I w-was, um—" she cut herself off, deciding it would be much less trouble for herself if she simply answered his questions.  "I, um, yes, I do! I have a lot more, but I couldn't take them all here with me.  I happen to enjoy classics very much, yes!"
Only after she had finished replying did she take in the man's face.  His features were smooth, angled to a degree that made him seem gentle and daring and intelligent all at the same time.  Nice face, she thought to herself, Very nice face.  Suddenly, she realized that she was in a very awkward position to be talking to someone; not taking time to notice if he had been replying to her or not, she slammed her book shut and stood up, brushing the dirt off from the back of her skirt so that her height, though rather minimal, allowed her to better converse with him.  Only then did she realize her action was overtly spontaneous and probably startling to many, and she dipped her head in apology, clearing her throat before returning her gaze to his.  God, why am I so awkward?
Road Not Taken || Jongjin & Jisu
The weekend, though it meant a time to relax for the students, usually only meant more work for Jongjin. There were exams and papers to grade and other miscellaneous bits and pieces of things to get done to ensure his classes for the next week would go smoothly. But every now and again, he got the opportunity to take a break for himself, an opportunity to let his mind relax from the snarls it became tangled into as he tried to iron out every last detail for himself. There was something about him that was engrossed by details of things, whether it be in the minutiae of lesson plans or, as he was watching now, the leaves of the forest.
His break this time had led him into the woods, and his attention was caught now by the way that the sunlight dappled through the leaves, creating changing patterns on the forest floor. There were a few others that he could hear moving through the woods with him, but for the large part, Jongjin ignored them. He was more lost in the calming effect that memorizing the way that wind shifted the branches overhead had on him.
This meant that the reaper was almost startled when he passed by a girl who was sitting on the ground. Taking a careful step sideways, he glanced down at her, about to murmur an apology to her to excuse his presence. But as he did, he stopped, a look of curiosity growing on his face as his eyes skimmed over the titles. “You’ve got quite a collection there,” he observed, glancing up at her. “You’re fond of classics?”

The usually quiet dinner hall had crowded with people recently, and Jisu assumed that it was due to the eerie events that had been going on.  Able to read negative emotions from people, it had been clear that the red moon and the crimson-washed shores had flooded most of the student body with an overwhelming group anxiety.  That anxiousness was there in the dinner hall that day; whereas people usually chose to eat outside, they refused to risk it now that things had taken such a strange turn.  There was so much anxiety coming off the mass of students that a faint nausea had settled in her stomach, and she had to excuse herself from the cafeteria.
Up on the roof, it often seemed that the air was clearer, fresher, sweeter—it made sense to her that after such a sickening wave of anxiety, she should go to the nearest place she could find comfort.  The woods, her first choice, were much too far, and it was dark.  There wouldn't be much use in going there, so she chose her second option: the nearest roof.  This roof, however, was much stinkier and did not provide as much relief as she hoped for—although she preferred to stay for lack of the will to move again.
As she settled there with her dinner, scooting ever closer to the edge so that she could peer over, she could almost hear a thud as she encountered a wall of emotion that she'd never felt before.  It was crazy, almost physically painful, wild as if it were something trying to break out.  Something suppressed that snapped spontaneously in an angry, lashing recklessness.  Something that took hold of whoever felt it, so that they too might lose control.
Concern pumping through her veins, she stood and walked towards the source, her eyes adjusting to the darkness to make out a dark figure gripping the balcony, knuckles white from the sheer force.  Without hesitation, she stepped to his side.  "Hey, hey," she called, wide-eyed worry peering at him softly.  "Are you okay?"
Memoriam (open post)
Child. Child. CHILD. CHILD. don’t you worry child just take it and go and pull and tug and-
This was not a great day. Hell, it wasn’t even a good day, and no one had gotten hurt yet because he had predicted the approach of his… ‘Episode’ this time, and gone to the nearest roof, where most people did not tend to retreat at dinner time. Or at all, really, because in the brief moments he could concentrate through the fog of his head, it smelt like second-hand smoke. Which was lovely, if you were into that kind of thing, but he wasn’t.
tug pull run runt run-
It was hard to tell, with Jason, whether the insanity was him, was his magic, was the genetics, was amplified by his mixed blood, or was insanity at all. Either way, it destroyed his control on the days it got bad, and as he grips the rails, the usually grey-brown eyes are glowing blue.

A low growl startled Jisu from her reading, which she'd decided to do at the lake that day instead of in the woods seeing as it wasn't too sunny.  The cool water lapped at her feet and a slight content hovered around her in the air where she sat.  Shifting slightly and looking around, her gaze fell upon the shimmering black pelt of what appeared to be a large dog—much more majestic than just a dog, but it was the only animal she knew of that looked as such.  Stronger, probably.  Upon closer inspection, more dragonlike... With a sudden bout of realization, she shuffled through her bag for her mythology book and opened to one of her bookmarks.
Of course; the air of majesty that followed the dog was a result of her previous marvel at the creature.  She'd read about it before—a hellhound, it was called.  Peering upwards, her eyes settled upon another boy, who had just called softly to the hellhound for it to return.  Perhaps it's his, she pondered, examining his features quietly before putting her books into her purse and standing up.  With a soft smile, she took gentle steps towards him and gestured to the animal that now stood by his side.
"That's a beautiful animal you have there."  Her voice was quiet; unsure, since she had not gone out of her way to meet anyone new for a while.  But he did own a hellhound, and that in itself made him all the more intriguing.  "What do you call it?"
Howl † Jisu & Tao
The great dog at his side, though silent - save for a few occasional growls she kept low in her throat whenever she caught sight of the large octopus thrashing about in the lake - was a wonderful companion, and Tao felt safer than he ever had with her at his side.
Miur, he’d named her, and he found it fitting, even though the inky blackness of her fur reminded him more of a starless midnight sky. But perhaps it was her wildness that had caused him to name her after the untamed moors of Ireland. Whatever it was, he didn’t know, but he wasn’t about to trouble himself over it. Miur was the first name that had come to his lips when he’d bound her to him, and so that was what he would call her.
“Come, Miur,” he murmured, standing suddenly to move away from the lake. He’d always loved sitting there, but he was afraid that the great hellhound would go bounding after the gentle octopus if he stayed too long, so perhaps it was time to go.
He marveled then over the fact that no one else so far had seen Miur, for he’d thought that surely demons would be able to. But no one else did, and he’d come to the conclusion that either he was the only one who could see her, or only reapers could.
Thankfully, there weren’t very many of those wandering around the academy. But, considering his luck, he wouldn’t be surprised if he ran into one while Miur was at his side.
