Progress Update

The Last Mage AU's prologue is done, it's short but I think that's okay. Now I'm just wrapping up some variables, the prologue review screen, and some fun settings!

For an example, there is now a setting that allows you to see which choices are tied with what soul trait!

Aaaanyways, prologue for The Last Mage AU is going well! Should be nearly done. It's short but so are the chapters for this story. I'm hoping piecing it into smaller chunks will let me post more often. 🤞

Surprise, I’m a huge Undertale fan! I know this won’t be everyone’s thing and that’s okay. No judgement. Some people don’t like AU’s, some people don’t like fan fiction, and some people don’t like Undertale. That is a-okay. But if it does sound like your kind of thing, give this short demo a read! It also works as a preview for the new TDS look as it uses the same format as this one. As well as the same character creator though the TDS one is more in-depth (this is why it has been taking me so long).

This was inspired by @darkpetal16’s amazing work. I hope I did it justice. 🙏

More TDS content is coming, I have all the character art commissions done I’m just waiting to finish doing my art (which is unfortunately taking longer than I’d like due to my indecisiveness).

This is all very new for me so any comments, constructive criticism, and suggestions are so so welcome. And if you’d like to know more about this world, send me an ask!

I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

Haven’t been drawing as much as I’d like lately so I did a small practice piece. It was done in a couple hours so it’s a little jank lol. Don’t question how the lighting makes no sense. 🤫

Life update:

A lot has been going on in my personal life lately, I'm struggling with my classes, one of my cats passed away recently, and my mental health is getting worse along with a strange physical illness that I still don't know what the hell it even is. This is not to ask for pity but to explain why progress has been slow.

I have been working on the updated version but it's been difficult right now and along with transporting everything over to the new format it's been rough to say the least. I want to make it clear I am working on this story it's just going to be a little bit. I might post snippets of what I have so far and I'm very open to character asks if that would help. I don't want this to become another abandoned IF and I'm determined to not let it die especially before it's gotten the chance to live.

Oh and happy early Halloween y'all! Spooky month is best month.

Character Creation pt. 2

About character customization

Asking because I'm thinking of re-working the visual format of the story and this seems like the perfect time to perfect those little details while I'm at it.

I knew TDS was going to be a bigger story simply because it’s interactive. However, I don’t think my mind grasped just HOW much bigger of a project this would be compared to Saint Winslows.

Saint Winslows is currently four chapters long and is 10k words.

That Distant Shore doesn’t even have its prologue finished and is 10k words.

That difference mixed with having to learn coding for TDS is just… insane. I already had a ton of respect for interactive fiction authors but I think I can actually empathize with the struggle a lot more now. This shit is hard.

Anyways, progress is going well on TDS! I got permission to use Scott Buckley’s music for the game (with credits in the game of course), and I am so psyched for y’all to hear this!!! It adds so much to the atmosphere.

Next update should be the finished prologue, the music, and hopefully a teaser for chapter one?

Been taking a little break from writing/coding. Theres still progress being made but it’s slowing down a bit. I got the first demo out in the span of less than ten days mostly because it became a hyperfixation for me. I still plan on working on it however after a two year long break I’m deciding to continue my schooling which will take up quite a bit of my time. The full prologue should in theory be done by the end of the month if I can get myself to sit and write the damned thing lol.

That Distant Shore Demo Version 0.3

Last update before the completed prologue is out, yay! Made things more user friendly, added easter eggs, expended on a couple of scenes. All in all it's very close to being a complete prologue! You also get the first scene of chapter one in this update. ;)
