Sorry for leaving this blog dead for so long again, I’ve had a lot going on and haven’t had much chance to work on hobbies...

One thing I have done is move back to my home town and while I was gone everyone started playing Warmachine/Hordes, so I’ve dug out my old Skorne battlebox to finish putting together and paint.  Unfortunately I’ve lost one of the cyclops’ arms over the years, but at least it’s something to post on here!

Still needs touch-ups, basing, and transfers, but I'm pretty happy with my first lascannon devastator. On with the next three!

Still have the base to finish and I want a custom transfer for that front panel, but otherwise that's one painted dreadnought! (omg I actually finished painting something...)

The GK hand was a terminator one, so it looked a tad big on just a power armour arm. Plus I like the horned skull that librarians use. As for getting it to line up, that comes down to very careful drilling and pinning.

WIP of Henrich, Codicer of Telepathy. Mainly made from the Deathwatch Overkill librarian, he also has some bitz from a Grey Kight staff with a backpack decoration from the Sternguard Veterans, and a Vanguard Veteran pistol (I really like librarians... I have five now with another five planned...)

He’s mainly the Dark Vengeance Librarian kitbashed with a Grey Knight staff topped by a banner topper from the command squad and a Blood Angel bolt pistol (Also, what do you guys think about the progress shots? Should I do more?)

Once again I’ve left this blog quiet for too long, so here’s a quick mock-up of Wolfgang the Valiant, 3rd Captain of the Sandstorm Seraphim.

He's mostly made from the Deathwatch Watch Master, but with a Sanguinary Guard jump pack, Grey Knight helmet, and a Deathwing storm shield.

Rule-wise, he’s a Blood Angels Captain with a Jump Pack, Storm Shield, Boltgun, and the Valour’s Edge relic.

Decided I wanted a Librarian with a Jump Pack, so after a quick bitz box raid I put this guy together

The new Deathwatch codex inspired me to continue my plans for a small Inquisition detachment, so here we have the start of an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor made from Sorscha from Warmachine plus a few bitz from Grey Knights

Finally got a replacement hose for my airbrush and so I’ve actually done some painting started painting my first detachment of marines! 

I’m determined to get these guys finished as soon as possible, so expect more WIP shots soon!

More Tau!

Here we have: -Commander Keenwind in his Coldstar battlesuit -My count-as Darkstrider made from an old metal Fire Warrior and some Pathfinder bitz -A team of “Executor” class Crisis Bodyguards (2x Plasma Rifles & Counterfire Defence System each) -Three “Striker” class Crisis Battlesuits (2x Fusion Blaster & Flamer each)

For something a little different, here’s my warband for our local LARP. 

 We obviously took a lot of inspiration from 40K Tau, but set in a medieval fantasy setting. Our aesthetic is a mishmash of Japanese, Chinese, and Tau with most roleplay coming from the Tau culture (5 castes, fighting for the Greater Good, having no experience with magic, using the language and rank system, stuff like that)  Our tactics tend to focus on mobile warfare, with heavy skirmish forces striking and repositioning as necessary while being supported by lighter soldiers with “black-powder” weapons (rubberband guns)

 This has definitely brought out my love for building things. Between my friend and I, we’ve build almost all the shields, armour, and guns in the warband.   (Oh, before I get comments about things like “Samurai don’t use shields” or “Tau wouldn’t do melee”, we had to adapt if we didn’t want to get crushed in every fight)

DRONES! 19 Marker Drones, 8 Gun Drones, 4 Missile Drones, a Recon Drone, a Pulse Accelerator Drone, and a Grav Inhibitor Drone to be exact.

I’ve always liked Tau Drones and with the Drone-Net VX1-0 Formation I like them even more!
