Celeb from Love and Deepspace, or Mahiru maybe because their vibes and settings are different, really reminds me of one of Reje-Ani(s) (��ジェ兄, big brother archetype lis from Otome contents company Rejet), Nesso Galland. A character from semi-ancient Otoge “Black Wolves Saga.”

Nesso is someone you can look up and be proud of as your family. The head of the knights of the kingdom. Good looking. Friendly, noble, clever, strong and kind. Calm, confident, mature and trustworthy. Everybody loves this perfect young man.

He is, of course, a good big brother, too.

You, his half-sister, love him also. You are very adorable siblings. Perhaps he indulges his sister a little too much, but who wouldn’t? Especially when she isn’t physically very strong (heath issue)… A bit overprotective? It happens with a loving, responsible brother like him…

Yes it’s very very norma — wait. No, actually something is wrong with him…

Now you get him, Nesso is at your service.

he is THE over-overprotective/obsessed older brother who loves his sister.

TOO MUCH.

He would do ANYTHING for her, would protect his sister from the outer world full of danger, at all cost. (Spoiler: he kneeled and licked his enemies boots clean in front of everyone, literally, without hesitation, to ensure her safety). He really doesn’t care about himself. No ambition, No pride. He became the head of the knights just to protect his little sister in the first place.

Everything he had ever done was for her. Because he loved her, cherished her, wanted her, cared about her, desired her. Always. His raison d'etre has always been his sister. If you take his sister away from him, there would be nothing left.

This is him. And his love comforts you like your familiar warm blanket while slowly suffocating you at the same time.

Long story short, he is a very delicious character.

And he was voiced by Miki Shinichiro. What can I want more.

The game itself was brutal, honestly. Full of death, violence and general madness. Nesso route was relatively mild. Sweet, even.

I remember I liked “bloody nightmare” more than “the last hope.” And Guillan (VA: Kisho Taniyama) was also a good character, cute and psycho. OST was fantastic.

If you want to dig into messed up Otome stuffs, you would want to play them.

Oh, the memories! No wonder I love Maniru-Nii right now. Jesus. Mikishin voice still kills me lol.

Well I cannot say I wasn’t disappointed that lads en localization changed Caleb’s identity from MC’s big brother/family to “her childhood friend” tho.

Where is the delicious sin factor?

Caleb wants to keep his own little sister, who literally grew up together, for himself.

Forever.

That’s his dirty secret. Guilt. And now he is inviting our MC to commit the same sin.

Besides, Infold already tried their best to water it down for broader audience within this trope:

- Caleb and MC are not actually blood-related.

- Caleb and MC are no longer “adopted siblings”. They are now literally strangers on the paper.
