ā© 3 LESSONS THAT HAVE HELPED ME ft. last week’s Beautiful Buildings Art Challenge Day 1 painting of Florian Cafe (I haven’t quite got the hang of peeling off the tape šŸ˜‚šŸ„“šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø) 🌺I was proud of my recent year-long art project, but I felt burnt out and daunted by another long-term art commitment. My wrist also was not thanking me! (Tendinitis and repetitive strain šŸ¤•) 🌺I knew I wanted to pursue a new strategy for creating art. 3 Lessons That Have Helped Me GROW as an Artist! 1ļøāƒ£ Work/life balance is kindof non existent at this stage in the journey and it’s okay to take the time away to make it happen. You might lose people, but you will gain others who support your hustle! 2ļøāƒ£ You won’t go anywhere if you try to do this all alone. We need people to lift us up! Yes, the bulk of the WORK will be YOUR WORK! But having a community to give you insights will help you. I post my Instagram art in Slack communities and I am active in Entrepreneurial Facebook groups. These communities let you become known by word of moth, which is your STRONGEST networking method! 3ļøāƒ£You won’t love it every day and you won’t be inspired and excited all the time. Having an idea, seeing all this amazing stuff on Instagram or YouTube, and then the reality of you alone in your bedroom or office toiling away at something that might not see any return for a while as you build it and lift it off the ground is less than encouraging. YOU MUST KEEP BELIEVING IT IS REAL! BELIEVE IN YOUR WORK AND VALUE! You will LEARN how to market these skills as you go… šŸ‘‰šŸ¼Follow for more trade tips and art/art history content @fabrizi_fine_art #arttips #arttipsandtricks #arthack #hack #tips #tipsandtricks #top3 #artwork #artoftheday #artofvisuals #artdaily #artjournal #oilsketch #sketching #artaccount #artbusiness #ltd #ltdcompany #entrepreneur #entrepreneurmindset #fire #firemovement #artlessons #artlesson #artbusinesstips #businessmind #businessmindset #businessmindset101 #entrepreneurmindset #entrepreneurgoals #artshop (at Windsor, Berkshire, UK) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQJ2De9LkqA/?utm_medium=tumblr

Part 3
That evening, my Bis-Nonna’s house was surrounded by S.S. Officers. She put a blanket over my aunts’ heads and hid them in the closet, checking on them every once in a while. They stayed up all night. In the morning, the soldiers left and they all breathed a sigh of relief. The family stayed separated in this way until the end of the war. Nonna Franceschina went to get them all and they were so happy to be together again! They all survived the war. My great grandmother and her family came to the United States and Mordko, Ursula, and baby Katja stayed in Italy, but they stayed friends for life.
This story heavily inspired my Nonna’s love for beauty, intimate family gatherings, and closeness. Traits that she passed to me and my sisters.
Fabrizi Fine Art was founded and so named because the Fabrizi Family has a history of this life-long love of the joys of life, big and small, and I aim to pass that love on with my paintings. Paintings are luxuries, but art is food for your soul. You deserve to feel special and part of the family. Sharing these stories is how I want to expand my family and my own love for beauty in life and bring that love to you. Either through images on here or if you buy something from me. I’m happy to have reached you!

Part 2!
Mordko and Ursula fled with some others into the mountains and the rest of the Jews were taken in trucks, very likely to Auschwitz, and never seen again. Baby Katja was to stay with my Bis-Nonna, as the woods would be too hard on her. So Franceschina renamed her Grazia (an Italian name, so as not to arouse suspicion) and told Mordko and Ursula that she would come for them when it was safe.
Life went on for some time, until one day when Ursula came down from the mountain and knocked on my great-grandmother’s door. Franceschina opened the door and hurried her inside. She asked ā€œdid anyone see you?! Do you realize what you have done?! You have endangered all of our lives coming down here in broad daylight!ā€
Ursula said nobody saw her, but actually she HAD been seen by a nazi sympathizer who came to their house with two heavily armed S.S. Officers. Ursula rushed into the next room and Franceschina held her ground. They asked her ā€œwe have seen a Jewish woman come to your house. Have you seen her?ā€ And she stood and she said ā€œno, no I haven’t seen her in months.ā€ Luckily they left. Franceschina closed the door and dropped down to the floor, fainting from her fear. She came to and told Ursula, ā€œyou have to leave, they will be back.ā€
Ursula said ā€œI’ll leave tonight.ā€ My Bis-Nonna said ā€œno, you’re leaving now.ā€ They packed little Ursula into a basket and covered it with chicken manure. The Germans would surely not search the basket then! A strong neighbor Costanza carried Ursula in the basket up the mountain and she hopped out safely and ran off. Little Katja went to stay with my great-great grandparents in their remote house with my grandmother Silvana. She led her up to their home hand in hand and used a kerchief to cover Katja’s blonde curls (not a typical Italian trait).
But that was not the end. Katja and Ursula were safe, but the Germans came back in the evening and surrounded my Bis-Nonna’s house.

Tramonto Sul Borgo Medievale di San Donato. Oil, 2020-2021.
Can you believe it took me a whole YEAR to paint this?!? I started it in June 2020 and just finished it recently! There is a story that I wanted to share with this and I am SO excited to be able to tell it to you!
This story is well known in my house and involves two families keeping each other safe from Nazi occupiers that invaded San Donato in 1944.
San Donato is a quaint and happy little hillside town in the Apennine Mountains. In those days, everybody knew each other or was related in some way. So when a group of Jewish people came to be interred in the town by order of the Italian government, the San Donatese welcomed them into their homes with open arms.
My Bis Nonna, great-grandmother, Franceschina, took one of the young couples into her house to stay with her and her three daughters Pompeia, Silvana, and Maria. Silvana being my grandmother. They were Mordko and Ursula and they became part of the family.
They were not allowed to work, but Mordko was a doctor and helped the townspeople in exchange for a little bit of olive oil or flour or anything to help out. Him and Ursula were happy staying with my Bis-Nonna Franceschina and eventually had a baby who was named Katja.
My young Nonna, being about 10 at the time, and her sisters loved baby Katja and were delighted to entertain her and play all the time! But it was not to last.
One day in April, Nazi officials came down to San Donato to round up the Jews and take them to concentration camps. They tried to entice them and say they would give them food and take care of them. The young couple nearly went with them, but my Bis-Nonna stopped them! She said ā€œrun! Don’t believe it! Run into the mountains!ā€ The Germans were not familiar with the landscape and dared not venture into the harsh and rocky forest.

It’s so exciting that there has been interest in my paintings! I have added three sizes to my website. I didn’t want to do smaller than A3 because the original is A3 and there are some EXTREMELY TINY DETAILS that I didn’t want to make any smaller! I have spent over 100 hours from start to finish and needed a lot of TLC for my wrist during the process! It kept cramping like crazy so I had a lot of stop and starts and went between loving it and wishing it was over so many times! That’s why I’m so proud of it and so excited that it’s on my website now!

Such a lovely testimonial from a recent client who bought a print of ā€œSegui il Soleā€ from my shop for their house.
It’s great to hear that the service we provide makes people feel special and happy! Buying art, although it is not a necessity like food or clothes, completes the spirit and encourages connections with viewers of different mindsets.
How people relate to art, feel when they look at it, and connect it to their own experiences varies. We could all do with learning a bit more from each other! It’s nice to see a positive experience with how my art is making someone feel. Thank you!!

Prints are available in my shop! Here’s some pictures of the latest editions. They are printed professionally on Hahnemühle giclĆ©e paper, which feels and looks just like the original! I’m so pleased with how they came out. Have a look!

Nonna’s Mimosa 2020, 11 3/8ā€ x 9ā€ watercolor on paper. When I was little, I loved spending time at my Nonno and Nonna’s house. They had a lovely sweet smelling Mimosa tree in their front garden. I remember climbing to the nook in the trunk and listening to the rustling flowers in the shade. The picture at the end is of me in the same tree in the painting. Love and miss my Nonno and Nonna.
