Confessions of Love (Kaitlyn X MC)

Summary: This takes place between Book 3 and 4 of The Freshman. Kaitlyn and MC have a heart to heart talk out on the rooftops of the dorm room. (Rating: E)

Author’s Note: This is my entry for ChoicesCreates Round 10 with the prompt “Do you believe in soulmates?”.

We were lying on a blanket, out on the rooftops of the dorm room, looking towards the sky. We decided that it was a nice night to gaze upon the stars. It was almost summer, so it was warm tonight.

We've been talking about our plans for summer vacation when she suddenly asks, "Do you believe in soulmates?"

You turned to look at her, but she kept on looking towards the sky. You could see the twinkling of the stars reflect off of her eyes as she continued staring off.

"I've always thought it was just one of those things that happened in fairy tales and on TV shows..." she trails off. "And now?" you ask. "Is what we have now it?" Your heart sank a bit upon hearing her answer. "I mean, deep down, I've always wished for something like this. In the past, I've always dreamed about what it would be like with my soulmate." She sat up now, hugging her knees. She still wasn’t looking at you. "So," she continued, "When we got together, I was really happy and thought everything would be perfect, but then we ran into all of these problems...and yet, you continued to stay. You stayed after I pushed you away, even after I blamed you for something that wasn't your fault! Why...?" her voice cracked. Hearing her voice crack made your heart feel like it was tearing apart. "Kaitlyn..." you say, sitting up to embrace her. "That's because I believe we are soulmates...You couldn't push me away even if you wanted to." you say, smiling towards her. Hugging her tightly, you say to her gently, "Ever since I first met you in our dorm room, I felt something I've never felt before. When you first greeted me with that beautiful smile, I just became mesmerized by it. After spending more time with you, I realized that you were full of surprises."

Tears were spilling down her face now.

"Honestly, my life was pretty bland before meeting you, but then you came along and everything changed. You meant something to me and I didn't want to lose that. It pained me to know that you were hurting and I couldn't do anything to help when you pushed me away. I was scared too, when we had that fight...I didn't want to keep you away from what you loved, but I felt like I was losing you...I know we've had our ups and downs, but I'll always still love you."

"Thank you..." she said, sobbing into my shoulder. "I don't know why I was being so stupid," she said through her tears, "Or how you put up with me, but thank you."

"I love you, Kaitlyn." you say. Then you gently kiss her on her temple.

"I love you too." she said, hugging you back strongly

For everyone up to date on The Crown & The Flame, you know that Book 2 ended on a huge cliffhanger. Since then, the team behind The Crown & The Flame has been working hard on the most epic Book 3 possible. That means new characters and even more grand adventures… Kenna will be tested like never before.

The Crown & The Flame team is beyond excited for Book 3 to come out. It’s currently still a work-in-progress. There’s a lot of work, writing, and of course, new art that is going into this book, and we hope you’ll find it worth the wait! I wish I could tell you more, but I don’t want to give too much away. Keep an eye out for Book 3 near the start of April! In the meantime, I can give you an exclusive sneak peek of what’s in store. Above are some of the new faces you’ll meet in Book 3…

A while ago, two of the writers were sketching their vision for the cover of Book 3. Of course, I had to get a picture. No promises that the cover will look anything like these sketches, but I have it on good authority that the final product is going to be incredible:

Yeah we're together, so wipe that smug off and back off!! And Kaitlyn, you better know where the line is...and you better not cross it... So it looks like Book 3 will be testing our relationships. James' will probably be a long-distance relationship and it looks like loyalty and trust will be Kaitlyn's. I wonder what'll be Chris'?

I actually find Sei to be very interesting. I feel that she puts on a strong face because she doesn't want to be viewed as a weakling, which makes her seem cold hearted. And she's stubborn too, so maybe that's also a reason for not showing much emotions of actually caring about Dom. 😅 Who do you guys ship Dom with? Kenna, Rose, or Sei?

Endless Summer

It's definitely very interesting and the new features are pretty awesome too! I think what's most interesting is how every choice you make can greatly affect how a character acts around you. And with a big cast of characters that we'll be able to interact with, it should be interesting to see how everything turns out. I'm sure this story would be worth to re-play a couple of times just to see the different endings. But I'm really glad to see that Choices is growing 😊

So I’m guessing this background will be in Book 3? I like it 😊 Maybe it’s a sign of new opportunities?

But I’m glad we were able to fix things up with Kaitlyn, James, and Chris. All that drama was killing me…but it truly was all thanks to Vasquez for helping us out. I didn’t really realize how much I actually missed seeing Kaitlyn smiling and being playful until this chapter.

Abbie and Tyler were really cute too! Made me jealous 😭 And then there’s Zack hyping things up 😂 just gotta love him.

But overall, I thought this ending was nice. The bonds between our friends have hopefully strengthen throughout the ups and downs of this book. But we’ll just have to see what awaits us in Book 3.

And OMG, 3 new books to come too!! Choices has officially become one of my favorite games of all time!!!❤️❤️❤️
