Kingdoms of Amalur is so funny bc the majority of the game manages not to be TOO oversexed and then you meet the mysterious dokkalfar ninja lady involved in the plot and she's like "don't you remember me" and I'm like "ma'am I feel like I'd remember someone so naked"

i’ve started playing kingdoms of amalur and i have so many emotions about my player character.

what do you mean he was brought back to life but with no memory of who he ever was before this. what do you mean he has known nothing but violence and running for as long as he remembers (which is only six days). what do you mean the only person in this world who gets to choose their own fate, who has no idea what their future holds, is the same one who doesn’t know their past either.

Ending the year right with a new game (Kingdoms of Amalur) and some Astarion doodles.

This was the year of self-indulgent art and relearning how to draw for myself after college. Things didn't take off until October, but they did take off.

Had a number of false starts on several projects, abandoned a few, went weeks without posting (or drawing), but I managed to eek out at least one finished piece every month this year (and learned a ton in the process)!

Thanks to all of you who interact with my blog and my art. Here's looking forward to an even better 2024!

Wip for Dick’s suit for the KOA au. I was gonna make more little concept pieces but ended up getting tired after doing the little one in the corner..so basically just using that to wing the rest. Currently figuring out the cape/wings, and realizing as I write this I forgot to make the insides a lighter blue so I’ll note that for tomorrow ~,w,~

The symbol over his chest and hand is for Lyria, the goddess of magic, fate and luck, and most commonly the patron god to the Dokkalfar. The swirls I really like but wonder if I should keep. I wanted to add some sort of airy element to his look as that would best describe how he be on the battlefield.

He’ll have his staff in hand, which is something I’ll need to put more thought into instead of rushing in like the rest. The staffs in game are all pretty large/thick, and I want something that could still fit in but be more sleek overall. I envision Dick as visibly pleasant person/comes across well meaning to those who see him. He won’t be an intimidating figure like Bruce is on the battlefield, but even a pretty and unassuming bird can be brutal (coughlookingatyoushrikescough).

It’d contribute more to his public image, and since he leans much more into magic as opposed to Bruce, he’d likely be promoted more in their society.

I tried to make him less twinky…the last drawing I did isn’t the best as to how I imagine him in general. I don’t think I’ve done a drawing of Dick where I looked at afterwards and was like wow!! That’s Dick Grayson alright!! Between how different characters can look comic to comic and in all the fanart, I’m struggling to decide how I really want to portray him.

Played more kingdoms of amalur..was not expecting the revelation of your (forgotten) pre-resurrection life to be "yeah you were a necromancers assistant. also you were really suspect and violent and a huge dick to everyone. you got yourself killed doing something stupid"...i really thought it was just gonna be "oh you were a [blank slate protagonist] soldier and you died but you were the specialest ever so your resurrection worked when all the others failed". pleasant surprise
