cassandra stares down at the mark on his arm, admiring her own work, nails lightly running around his arm and around the sigil but looking up to him hearing him speak. the corners of her lips perk up before she's looking back down to the mark. " at least you're not letting it get you down. " vlad being so calm about all of this was amusing to her, honestly she expected a fight. cold blue eyes look back into his, finally letting him go and leaning back, staring for a moment. " he must think you're pretty important for all this. you don't seem like a runner to me. you didn't flinch or anything. "

a loud sigh comes with her brother's response and eyes roll away from him, choosing to look back at her book instead. that was the problem. everyone expected her to be the same person she was as a kid. " micah, we're not kids anymore. I don't wanna play hide and seek. I just like being alone, ok? "

at first she really didn't mean anything by it, she always preferred the quiet; always hiding in her room when their parents threw big parties, always the first to call home to be picked up from a sleepover. it really shouldn't be a surprise to her family. she'll look back at him, sighing again before shrugging dismissively. " you're not losing me, we literally live in the same house. I'm just not like you two. I don't want to go to parties or stay out all night probably breaking all of mom's 'party rules'. " Cassandra stares at him for a moment longer, seeing if this was all getting through to him before shrugging and looking back down. " it's not that deep. "

"Oh sorry." He said putting his hands up. "I was just thinking about when we were little. How you me and Sal would have so much find. Remember when we'd play hide & seek here? This place is huge we'd play for hours. We used to be so close." Micah said with a sigh.

"Then one day you just locked yourself in your room and it's been like that ever since." He looked away from her and ran his head over his head. "We miss you, we're just worried we're gonna lose you."

cassandra sighs softly to nate as she walks around the room lighting candle after candle. " i'm not gonna get hurt, I promise. " she gives him a small comforting smile before sitting on the floor across from him and taking his hand in hers. " I just wanna try drawing power from you, i'm not as strong as salem, I think I was meant to find this magic, just to help. " she knew magic between the siblings wasn't a competition, but it just made cassandra crazy seeing her sister have so much power and do nothing with it.

a breath is let out and she sits up straighter, eyes closing for a second before peaking out and pausing. " are you sure you're ok with me trying this? you don't have to, you know. " her hands give nate's a small squeeze, of course she knew she could handle it, but she didn't want to force him into anything.

His eyes met Cassandra's. "Do it?" He asked. "Maybe just a little. I mean this is big stuff we're dealing with. I trust you, but I'm worried about you. I don't want you do get hurt." Nate didn't care much about himself. Being unable to die had it's perks. Cassandra on the other hand wasn't immortal.

cassandra had planned on just relaxing on the couch, fingers flipping through a weathered book in her hand, but feeling eyes on her was very distracting. " I can feel you staring, micah.. " eyes roll following her comment as she looks up to him and places the book in her lap. " just spit out whatever you wanna say. " this was exactly why she spent most of her time in her room, time to yourself wasn't a thing in this family. but cassandra isn't dumb she knows her brother in onto her and her new magic. but a little bit of staring wouldn't get her to give up all her secrets, she was powerful now. wasn't that what magic was all about?
