I met Ximena on the streets of Reykjavik, we both had traveled there alone. She had a dream back in her homeland Mexico, that a friend of hers on Iceland would soon die and when she now arrived, she just found out that he did. He died in a motorcycle accident. We looked at each other, both had sunglasses on. Then we looked again and I went up to her and asked for directions. She asked if I wanted to grab a beer and from then we had a connection. In the dream of hers, her friend had said not to worry, because she will find a new friend soon. We decided to travel around Iceland together in a van for 9 days. This video is made for Ximena, cause without her my trip to Iceland wouldn't have been this amazing.
Took all footage for this video in July, summer of 2016, in Iceland. Edited and colored in DaVinci Resolve 12.5 on a PC. Music by The Cogent Project - Sonder.

Here is my 40 km run from last Sunday. I ran in fasted ketosis, did not eat anything for breakfast. Was really tough the last 7 km... And I lost in all strength gains for the week after. So not sure I will do it again soon. :-)

VJ:ing for Broken Note in Stockholm, 2012
Created and performed live visuals for Broken Note at the Music Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. April 2012. Sorry about the audio! It's from the camera mic and some I added afterwards because it was so trashy. I used VDMX, Quartz Composer and a home made Lemur user interface (on iPad).

Here is the latest project that I have been working on on my spare time, now and then.
Insides is about loosing your true self in a system of distractions and finding a way out from it. Close your eyes, start listening to the voice of your heart and your inner child will start to live again.

Made this render at work. The package design and artworks are made by colleagues at F&B Factory, illustrations by Annika Lundholm Muborg. You can find more info here! The videos are one part of the whole project. They are shown on digital screens all over Sweden at ICA stores and post offices. You get these packages for free, to stuff with candy and send to friends on easter. Got the animation idea, to package it in 3D as you would in real life.
Since we created the package prints in the company, I used them to model the package in Cinema 4D, then I projected UV’s from the camera onto it. The text is animated in Flash, frame by frame masking. Imported to After Effects, where I made texture and text animations and composited the 3D animation renders together.
The render was fast and made with Octane Render for C4D. It worked with my 27″ iMac late 2013 model (graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB).

My health blog now have more Tumblr followers than this blog. No wonder from my inactivity. Or maybe people are more interested in food than motion graphics? ;-)

• You cannot export to the following formats in the 2014 version of After Effects CC. However, you can still import these file formats into After Effects. FLV/F4V MPEG-2 H.264 WMV SWF
I really got the rage today when I was about to make some banners at work and animate some text in After Effects and export to Flash as SWF. They bloody removed the ability to do it! Outrageous...
Already need to keep two versions of Flash on my computer. One Flash CS6, since clients are still using AS 2.0 and since Flash CC cannot import SWF anymore. But I still need Flash CC, cause that is the only version that can import Illustrator documents.
And now I will be forced to use After Effects CC and After Effects CC 2014. One supports SWF export and the other can make really cool templates for Premiere Pro CC 2014.
Get a grip...

NASA plants
I’m collecting plants. After I saw this TED lecture, I went to the flower store next day and purchased one of each.
Areca Palm (Chrysalidocarpus lutenscens)
Mother-in-law’s Tounge (Sansevieria trifasciata)
Money Plant (Epipremnum aureum)
Yesterday, I got 2 more Money Plant's and today one more Mother-in-law's Tounge. He mentions we need 4 shoulder high Areca Palms and 6-8 waist height Mother-in-law Tounge's. Those are kinda extreme numbers, I know. But I figured, the air is much, much cleaner in Stockholm, than in Delhi. And I can collect slowly. I want 3 of each and all of them in my bedroom/livingroom/home-office for starters. Since they probably don't sleep in their office, I will get some benefits sleeping in that room... :-)
The health benefits pointed out from the lecture, combined with the NASA clean air research. Why not? It looks kinda nice too.
Would love to have a desk like this at work:

"Align Hotkeys" with Keyboard Maestro
I have a confession to make. I'm a hotkey addict. Whenever there's repeating tasks at work, I start searching for new keyboard shortcuts, all for a faster workflow. When new shortcuts cannot be found, or is not within reach from my Left hand, I invent new ones.
Apps I use every week at work include:
Flash CC
Flash CS6 (for older banner formats & importing AE animations)
After Effects CC
Illustrator CC
Photoshop CC
Something I always do is: Aligning stuff. To the center, to the left, to the bottom right... Sometimes based on canvas and sometimes based on objects in relationship to each other. Have always been clicking the Align Window, it started feeling tedious.
So I came up with a new aligning hotkey system, game inspired. I "Game'ified" my align workflow.
In games like Quake, Doom and Half-Life, you used the keys W,A,S,D with your left hand for moving around. Shooting and turning with your mouse in your right hand. W was forward, A - left, S - down and D - to the right. This became second nature.
When I work, my left hand is always on my keyboard in the same position, the other hand is holding a Wacom pen.
I'm on a Mac, so the CMD key does the same thing the CTRL key does on a PC. The CTRL key on Mac is there, but not used very often. It's in the perfect position to be used for whatever new hotkey combo you prefer. With Keyboard Maestro, that is. A hotkey remapping and macro creation app.
With Keyboard Maestro, You can create different hotkeys for different apps. You can even do more than one hotkey combination or even mouse clicks inside that software.
My new system looks like this, holding down CTRL and hitting these:
QWE ASD ZXC
Becomes:
Tumblr media
And I use CTRL + TAB as a toggle between aligning to objects or to the canvas.
This is setup for all of the apps mentioned above, so it's the same in Illustrator as in Flash and After Effects. Had to do some adjusting for each though... After Effects does not have hotkeys for it, so I place the Align window at the top right location and keep it there. And use Keyboard Maestro's mouse clicks instead. And for Illustrator I have to create a macro for each key and trigger that.
Here's how it looks inside Keyboard Maestro:
Tumblr media
Along with some other hotkeys that might give you ideas. In After Effects, you can jump 10 frames forward with Shift + PageDown. I have done a hotkey for doing that inside Flash as well.
Here is how I solved it in After Effects, you can record how you click and save those actions with Keyboard Maestro, then launching it with a hotkey:
Tumblr media
Enjoy! Any questions?
