Since I finally converted this blog..

OOC: This has been something I’ve been thinking about for a while; I’m considering moving this blog, and my other I.b blogs (redroseofpromise, and hangedmary) to a multimuse blog.

here’s your daily reminder that:

what a character says ic is not always what the writer thinks ooc. characters can be wrong, misguided, horrible people and writers do not always agree with what their characters do and say

writing ic does not automatically mean projecting one’s own thoughts and ideas about a topic, the character and the writer are two different people entirely

playing a villain who has done/does abusive things as a part of their characterization doesn’t mean the writer is excusing abusive behavior irl

just because someone writes a villain/evil character does not make the writer a horrible, irredeemable person ooc who genuinely believes every single thing their characters say/do is 100% right. yes, we know when a character is saying/doing something “bad” or “wrong” and we are not saying that it’s okay by any means

a mean character can have happy moments in their life unrelated to the nasty things they do. a villain character having other traits/quirks beyond “villainy” makes them no less a threat/no less evil than they are

stop getting angry at people for making well-rounded characters with fleshed out details that make them, oh golly gee, human

yes, it is completely possible to recognize a character as despicable and evil and still enjoy them for being an interesting, well written character!

not taking villains seriously is a major pain in the ass

and let’s not forget

After what seemed like forever in this place, Garry was slowly losing hope that they would all escape. Above everything else, he had hoped that Ib, his sisterlike figure, would survive, at least. She had family to get back to, and she still had her whole life ahead of her...

Of course, he had hoped they would all escape. But he refused to kill. He couldn't.

He eventually noticed someone else nearby, and, in hopes of getting his mind off this whole thing, even if only for a little while, he went up to the other, and spoke up.

“Hello... I don't believe we've met...”

Starter for @cutieheals (CS Verse, chapter 4) "...The festival is great, but... I'm just worried about what's gonna happen after it ends..." Although Garry really did like the festival, and was, currently, for the most part, calm... there was still the fear of what could happen afterwards... But he tried to ignore that now, as he continued talking to the other. "At the very least, are you doing okay?"

He couldn’t watch the execution. He looked away, trying his best not to cry. He had failed her.

He was so close to breaking the entire trial, but the realisation that someone who was completely innocent was going to be executed, solely because they voted wrong, was the breaking point.

As soon as they were allowed to leave, Garry headed straight to his dorm, collapsing on his bed. Ib would probably hate him now. He may as well have murdered Nikki! He didn’t even try to stop himself from crying this time.

“I… I failed her…”
