There’s that moment in inheritance where Roran literally cuts a path of dead soldiers in a line through the entire army. He only stops when he swings his hammer and it hits the floor instead of an enemy, he then turns round and starts to cut another path. This man is literally the fucking doom slayer of Alagaesia. There’s that joke where Nasuada wonders if she locked Eragon, Murtagh and Roran in a room together who would survive. And Eragon jokes that Roran would win. But like, he would? I don’t know how, but like this man would probably charge Galbatorix as long as he had his hammer and a plan.
I love my insane hammer man

I’m talking to a very sweet enby who will often say “Yes Ma’am” to me, which I find very cute. I was trying to think of a non binary equivalent so I went with “Aye Aye Captain!”
Enbys of Tumblr. Did I do a good job?

I have a date with a non binary furry next week and I feel like I’ve reached the inevitable canon event that was bound to happen the moment I started a tumblr account.
But also they are super lovely and nice and attractive and aaaaaah I have so many feelings. So thank you Tumblr/the queer dating app we met on. Love wins!

While I want nothing but peace for Roran, Katrina and Ismira. I also want a scene with Roran pulling a John Wick and breaking open a chest where he keeps his hammer and preparing to kill a LOT of bad guys in response to someone being mean to Ismira or something. Just that, someone being mean. If anyone harms a hair on Ismira’s head there will be nothing that protects them from both Rorans and the IC fanbases wrath.

Murtagh truly be doing this to Azalgûr
Tumblr media
Every time I try to forget the Monty Python level goofiness that is Murtagh epicly fencing with a magic fork, someone on tumblr brings it up, I do a heavy sigh and carry on with my day. Don’t get me wrong, very cool, very well written scene. But Murtagh as a book is pretty dark overall, and I just find the contrast quite funny. I love these 3 goofy guys with their hammers and ants and unresolved trauma <3

This is entirely true. The level of sass the brothers have collectively is truly astounding.

Eragon hyperfixating on ants is truly a legendary moment in the IC fandom. The memes it inspires are fantastic. I just really want a scene during Angela’s visit to Arngor where she and Eragon discuss Ant-Lore. And that’s what it is, even in our world, ants will have wars with eachother, they have scouts and raiding parties and will go through crazy injuries and die to defend their homes. I need a HBO series about Ant politics IMMEDIATELY.

The Netflix She-Ra remake remains my favourite animated show. I loved it years ago but it’s gained so much more meaning now I’ve unlocked my own queerness. We need more queer representation like this. Big love to ND Stevenson and the team behind such a wonderful piece of work.

anyway I’ve been reading Warrior Cats. Apparently it’s 2013 again.
My first impressions on this re-read is that the authors are sadists.

Getting back into old passions is wild. I pursued a music career for 8 years, got a degree in it, and fully intended to live my life as a musician, then, my brain broke, and any passion I felt for music vanished. FOR 2 YEARS! Until the other day when I suddenly felt inspired again.
Pro tip, if you find yourself losing connection to hobbies or passions because of mental health or traumatic events, don’t sell all of it because you think you’ll never get back to it. Don’t be like me and sell your favourite, entirely unique guitar just because right now it makes you sad to look at it. One day it might make you happy again.

Eragons journey to discover his true name is wild. He spends most of his evening throwing rocks around a ruined courtyard. He then has an argument with a giant snail, then he decides to climb a massive crumbling tower of rubble, then he sits there thinking until almost dawn. He goes through some mental stuff, finds his true name, then both laughing and crying simultaneously he thrusts his arms out to his sides like he’s Jesus or something and simply walks off the tower, and then moments before he hits the ground he uses magic to stop himself from fucking dying before casually trotting off to wake Saphira up.
This boy is ADHD incarnate. And we love him for it.

I just envision a future where Eragon and Arya are having an anniversary dinner with the entire Elven Court in Ellesmera and Arya gets up and excuses herself temporarily. Eragon, concerned, sends her a thought being like “are you ok? Where are you going?” and Arya just sighs frustratedly and responds “I’m going for a shit, Eragon” and mutes him.

I’ve just hit season 4 of merlin, and Merlins voice has become deeper and huskier, I’m sure that’s the actors way of showing Merlin has aged a bit, but I like the idea that doing his dragon lord voice (which is very deep and rasp) has caused it. I much prefer that to my first thought when I heard it being “oh, Merlin’s balls have dropped.”

Thinking about the level of trauma Murtagh and Thorn must have after fighting off the Elves and Oromis/Glaedr at Gilead. Like, the Elves alone are terrifyingly powerful. I can imagine Murtagh and Thorn fighting tooth and nail to defend the walls, but even with the eldunarya there’s just so many, and all of them have more magical experience than they will ever have. But, they are still holding, just barely, while soldiers die around them in droves. Then, out of the clouds Oromis and Glaedr swoop in, a golden dragon many times the size of thorn, with a master rider in golden scale armour upon his back, those of Galbatorixes soldiers who can immediately rout, and a great groan of despair goes up from the empires remaining troops. Murtagh sits there, stunned, before fury overwhelms him, and he, Thorn and the other soldiers who are magically forced to keep fighting, charge in to the waiting elven spears, with no hope of victory. Murtagh and Thorn are losing their fight against Oromis and Glaedr, but it’s a fight they don’t want to win, because they know that these two are the one hope they have of being free from Galbatorix. But they are oathbound, so they fight, and expect to die in the process. Until they no longer have control of their limbs, and are forced to watch as the master who has so brutalised and destroyed them goes even further, and takes control of their bodies and forces them to kill their one, final hope.
