i dont think that people actually dislike 'fluff' in writing its just that not many people know how to write characters well when nothing high stakes is happening and therefore the scenes feel bland or wasted (tucks and rolls offstage) because they can only imagine people to be interesting during high action scenes and not during the slower moments in between (slides on a tomato) likely because they consider their own life and the people around them uninteresting and cannot imagine characters they want to like to be anything less than larger than life when in reality the quiet humanity between action is the core of all good character writing (gets shot)

Writing Ideas: Betrayal Tropes

Bad Samaritan: The villain who acts kind and uses good deeds to lure the heroes into a false sense of security, before turning the tables on them for their master plan.

Black Shirt: Someone who secretly wishes for the enemy to win so they can side with them.

Broken Pedestal: Someone finds out that the person they idolized wasn't quite as heroic and noble as they thought they were.

Dead Person Impersonation: A character impersonates a beloved dead member of another group.

Defecting for Love: A character switches sides due to falling in love with someone of the other camp.

Personal Horror: The one thing worse than being betrayed by others is betraying yourself and your sense of who you are.

Prisoner's Dilemma: Do you cooperate, stay silent and hope your partner doesn't betray you, or do you rat them out and hope they don't do the same to you?

Turncoat: A character that switches sides in order to help out the other side.

Unwitting Pawn: Someone is being manipulated all along and doesn't know it.

Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Manipulating people by pretending that someone hurt you.

These tropes include how characters betray each other's trust

Usually a Plot Twist of some kind (except when it isn't).

Contrast with Trusting and Loyalty tropes.

Victims of betrayal are often motivated to seek retribution against the traitor through revenge.

Bad Dream

“Ruby…you love me, don’t you?”

The woman in question lazily rolled over, rudely aroused from her sleep by the orange-haired clinger looming tense at her side. “Sera…we’ve been over this.”

She pouted. “But, Ruby…you would never leave me, would you?”

A sigh. “What is this about, Sera?”

“I had a dream you cheated on me…”

Ruby’s face twisted into a vexed confusion. “We’re not even together.”

“Yes we are.”

“No, we’re not.” The brunette rolled back over and placed the pillow over her head. “Go back to sleep.”

Then she felt hands rocking her side. “No, Ruby…Ruby you love me, don’t you?”

“I love few things in this world, and those things are my gun and my axe, and you better not break them because I said that or I will be mad at you.”

There was no response, as if breaking the aforementioned weapons was a thought that she now had to run through pros and cons before finally throwing it out. “...You won’t leave me, right Ruby?”

“No, Sera,” she responded with a sharp sigh. “I’m not going to leave your dumb ass anytime soon. Now go to bed.”

Elated, her lips broke into a smile. “Okay! Can I sleep with you?”

Another sigh. “Sure. Knock yourself out. Please.”

Barely-contained squeals filled the silent room. Sera eagerly flopped behind her object of affection, squeezing them close with affectionate arms.

The little spoon groaned. She wasn’t going to get any more sleep like this, was she?

I'm actually very much debating on leaving the Funa fandom because of this whole situation, at least for a few months or so? But I really miss my whole wild 5-story AU I had going on, so I may put more effort into making that entire plotline an original plotline...

I've been taking a hiatus from Funamusea stuff due to a stalker more or less trying to run me out of the fandom. So, I've been obsessing over Tokyo Debunker in my time of need.

I made a separate blog for it though just in case my rambling got out of hand @of-stars-and-fireflies
