Seeing people as all good or all evil does a real disservice to activism and changing minds in general.

If you see someone as all bad, you see that person as incapable of change and improvement. You come at that person aiming to punish rather than come to an understanding that would inch them foward to being a better person.

If you see yourself as all good, you miss the chance to improve yourself. You can't have the bad traits. Only bad people have those. Thus, you ignore your flaws as they leave you more and more ostracized from others.

Anyway, today, my very religious godmother gendered me correctly.

Reminder to those following along with what Sophie has been posting that the original argument that she is trying to dismantle with this is... that you shouldn't create headmates based on bigoted stereotypes. That if you are going to put intention into creating a headmate with an experience other than your own that it should be based on the real thing not on the false perception of that thing by people who would demean that thing. Basically don't use bigotry as the basis for the headmate you are creating. That's what she is fighting against in the basis of her f*ta arguments. That's the argument she is trying to make seem unimportant.

Fuck it. Not vaguing for this one

I think one of the more bigoted aspects of Sophie is that she insists she can talk over minorities about issues that directly impact them.

This is an issue that keeps coming up no matter the issue. Previously, when POC argued that being a POC and growing up in a racist society is inherently traumatic, she argued back. And now, when an intersex system says that yes, fetish porn can be a form of oppression in some instances, she argues back that porn can never be oppression.

As someone who is both white and perisex, it's not your place to argue back your own beliefs about the world to counter the lived experiences of others. It's one thing if you want to provide disagreeing perspectives from said group, but simply denying the lived reality of others is bigoted as all hell.

Also, a big fuck you for stating that fetishization isn't oppression. For a group you're not even a part of. Get your privileged ass back in your place.
