Opened in 1946 on Beverly Blvd, what once was a shack owned by Tommy Koulax the son of Greek immigrants serving up not only the best burgers, but a burger with a twist... #CHILLI! Add the Cali style of lettuce, tomato, and on top of that fresh cut onions, cheese and mustard, you got quite an explosion of flavor! Many have tried to copy ORIGINAL TOMMYS, thus the need for their fun slogan. Tommy's is the true LA burger... It's what Pinks is to Hotdogs, and Roscoes is to chicken and waffles. #BURGERQUEST: No one truly knows where the #hamburger was invented, there are claims from NYC w/ proof of a restaurant having the first published version of it on their menu sometime in the 1800's --- to folks claiming it's inception from Texas. But what we do know is this... @INNOUT, in 1948 was the first place to have created a #DRIVETHRU w/ a speaker system... That's pretty out there and way ahead of their time. But here we are today in the present and we've made the long trek from Texas to #CALIFORNIA, on this U.S. Burger #roadtrip and home to the original #INNOUTBURGER in #BaldwinPark. Many will take this following bit of info for granted, but the burger you enjoy today, with lettuce and tomato, was originated in Cali! And the place that consistently serves up a fast juicy, and most of all fresh Cali style burger is IN-N-OUT! While IN-N-OUT now has a traditional chain of fast food restaurants, the original location was just a sort of hut, where you would drive thru and place your order --- it was truly fast food on the go! IN-N-OUT is special and unique to the California experience, we don't have any in NYC or the tri-state area, and our very first Cali experience consisted of IN-N-OUT. To come here is to experience not only history, but consistency. Every IN-N-OUT is consistent, great tasting, fast and most all CLEAN!!! #FEASTMODE #BURGERQUEST #TEXAS: We know two things at this point of our #instaburger #roadtrip, and that is 1.) WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE! This almost steady diet of #beef and bread, otherwise known as a #hambuger, will kill us haha! But hey you only live once right? #YOLO!!! 😜 --- 2.) TEXAS the #LoneStarState Truly lives up to to it's name... Everything is big, in your face, and makes quite the impression --- some really amazing burgers from the state that claims it's one of the originators. Sadly we could not find the time or enough Lipitor to make it to other great cities like #Dallas #FortWorth #Arlington #ElPaso and more... #BURGERQUEST: Folks... We have another tie. This time in the awesome city of #SanAntonio. We didn't know much about this historic city in #Texas, only that there's no basement in the #Alamo according to the PeeWee Herman film, LOL! Rich w/ history, culture, and diversity... the food equally boasts the same wonderfulness. Our tie pits a burger masterpiece, with a burger institution @CUREDATPEARL is known for way more than their burger... In all honesty you will be dining there for their famous #charcuterie and amazing #WagyuBeef Shank that serves 4-6 people and runs about $300. You will stay longer than expected because of their amazing cocktails. So say you couldn't get a reservation for Dinner and stop in for lunch... Behold the #BLUERIBBONBURGER, at first glance it may not seem like anything special, but this patty consists of local chuck, short-rib and BACON!!! Yes bacon! Topped with house made onion jam, and an #AmericanCheese that consists of aged cheddar, smoked gouda and mixed with #PBR...HOLY SH**!!! Meanwhile, @ChrisMadrids you won't need a reservation, but get ready to wait in a line that sometimes wraps around the establishment. #ChrisMadrids is known for their true #texmex flavors, especially when it comes to their AOL , THRILLIST and ZAGATS famously rated and renown #TOSTADABURGER! Sloppy, greasy and good! This is not highbrow by any means... It truly epitomizes what #FEASTMODE is all about. If you're hungry you will get the #macho sized tostada burger which has #homemade refried beans, chips, onions, and creamy cheddar cheese on a nice bun that ties it all together! #NEWSCHOOL VS. #OLDSCHOOL, and with that we have no losers, but 2 #WINNERS from San Antonio 😍👍👍

#BURGERQUEST: What happens when you mix up #hornytoads, an abandoned gas station, and #texmex #burgers? You get @ELSAPO_ATX! A Botanas & Burgers spot located just east of I-35 on Manor Rd in #Austin #Texas. This place is a cross between an old time dessert like gas station with a modern aesthetic twist, which includes slightly accented pastel tex-mex-like painted exterior and interiors and a refreshing open patio. Out of this world appetizers, cocktails, and a small but awesome beer selection. We've had plenty of tex mex grub while in Texas but never a tex mex burger, so we were excited about this place. While everything sounded amazing when reading the menu, one burger in particular stopped us right in our tracks... THE #LAMBURGUESA BURGER!!! Hand formed lamb patty, grilled queso panela (a thick white cheese), mixed greens, cucumber, red onions, lemon serrano aioli topped off with a butterkrust bun. One word... #WOW!!! Wait... 2 words... WOWEE-WOOWEE! This burger was massive and the taste equally matched. The cheese was just out of this world, the lamb unique in flavor and the cucumber, red onions and aioli really made this refreshing and made our #tastebuds work overtime. Florida really brought the #burger scene to a new level, it's amazing what you get when you combine #farmtotable #localgoods #amazingfood and of course the #sunny weather and #beaches from a place that equally boasts #tropical #lifestyles and tourist traps. #BURGERQUEST: For the first time on this roadtrip, this #burger #adventure has presented us with quite the conundrum... Instead of just one #number1 spot, we have THREE!!! It was hard to decide, #Miami has become quite the burger scene; you can't beat the beach, beautiful sun-kissed people, the diversity, and the nightlife that is #southbeach. So here we are, with 3 top spots... NUMBER 1 OF 3: #GIRRAFAS - - - Everyone loves the #Picanha, but on this day while on the go, we decided to try their famous #Picanhaburger called the #BRUTUSBURGER. We were delightfully surprised - THE BRUTUS is quite the meal, made of their picanha meat, this #firegrilled burger comes topped with the usual burger fixins plus ham, cheese, bacon, and a #friedegg. NUMBER 2 OF 3: Next we go from an on-the-go experience to fine dining at the one and only #BOURBONSTEAK. If you're not aware of the name #MichaelMina the #JamesBeard award recipient and #MichelinStar restaurant owner, then you should be ashamed... No we kid, but just know this, Mina knows what he's doing and the same goes for his executive chefs that run his other locations. Although this isn't the flagship restaurant, it's in Miami, and it's in the beautiful #TurnberryIsle luxury hotel. Yeah we got Fancy-Schmancy on this one. What was a reunion amongst friends in a fancy setting, turned into a true burger experience. Once spotting that they had a burger menu, our order quickly changed from Bone-In Ribeye to the #ALLBEEF Burger. For $19 bucks you are getting a dry aged beef, melted farmhouse cheddar, shredded lettuce, balmsamic onions and secret sauce - whatever that secret is, #WOW, we wanna know! NUMBER 3 OF 3: Last but not least we have the awesome #LOKAL located in the #coconutgrove section of Miami. This place has #branding down pact... No literally! They brand each of their burgers with their #logo on the bun - On top of that, the place features everything, you guessed it - LOKAL! From local brews, to grassfed locally raised #kobe style beef, and local artists who have graffiti art and a cassette covered bar. There are a lot of great choices but we had to go with the #ROYALE W/ CHEESE!

#BURGERQUEST: At first glance you might think this is your average food truck treat, but you are oh-so wrong my friends - for this is the #THELATINMACHO from the notorious and famed @latinburger & taco food truck. Praised by the food channel, newspapers, and other bloggers, this burger has earned it's street cred. First, the fact that we get to list this #burger with the address of "VARIOUS LOCATIONS" that alone is cool! No way about it... You must be a customer to have figured out their stops, or follow them on twitter to see their next stop. The truck is hard to miss, it's a contrast of colors with magenta and black and a bulls head, almost seems like a tour truck for a sports team. But once you track these guys down, oh boy are you in for a #treat! Within the hot sheet of foil, lies a freshly cooked impressive burger --- BEHOLD THE LATIN MACHO - TWO #beefpatties that are quite unique. You see, these burgers are made from #handground chuck and #CHORIZO!!! Yes, CHORIZO!!! That makes these patties not only meaty, but #spicy! Add to that #Oaxacacheese, roasted #pimento #mayo and #carmelizedonions; mix that all up, and you got yourself one of the best #foodtruck burgers #Miami has to offer! What makes this No. 2 is the experience, #adventure, and #interactive factors, and of course that special blend of meat! The burgers, #WOW, I mean we can't give enough praise. Talk about attention to detail, passion and ensuring a top notch experience... #BURGERQUEST: We didn't set out to scour #Florida for a heavenly splendor of salty and sweet meat #treats, but we are going with it, and we are ABSOLUTELY loving it!!! Our next stop brought us to #Orlando, Florida and the amazing #TEAKNEIGHBORHOODGRILL. Home to some tasty and nice varied microbrews, live music and a cool patio to hang out at, this awesome Orlando hangout on Times Square Ave serves OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD #HAMBURGERS!!! We're actually eager to go back for more. All burgers are made from half pound #angusbeef and come with a choice of any side. There were so many amazing burgers to choose from like a #SpicyVeronica, made with ghost pepper cheese, pickled jalapeños, potato strings on a toasted brioche bun; then there's THE PIG, a burger topped with smoked ham, bacon, pulled pork, white cheddar cheese, onion jam, herb mayo on a pretzel bun --- HALLELUJAH!!!!!! The Lipitor wasn't handy, nor was a treadmill on standby, so we settled with a classic with a #twist! THE #PEANUTBUTTERANDJELLY (#PBANDJ) BURGER --- yes you read right, PB & J!
