Happy 25th Anniversary to Chicken Run!

My favorite movie ever....well it's more than just a movie to me!

I first saw this movie as a kiddo, I must have been around 5 years old. I remember going with my mom, older sister and my aunt (who's no longer with us).

I remember in particular this large cardboard cutout of the movie poster as the four of us went in! After the movie, we went to Burger King and I got two of the Chicken Run toys! (Which i really wish I kept!)

From then on, Chicken Run became a big part of my life: It enhanced my love for stop-motion (I studied animation at some point), I met my partner thanks to it too (Chicken Run creates romance too), and I created this here blog thanks to it!

And im very thankful to know all of you who love Chicken Run as well!^^

My final word; Chicken Run just brings me comfort and joy in my everyday life. I think about it everyday. I created my own addition to the Chicken Run universe, Kipper Tweedy! So that also allows another layer of creativity and joy to my life :)

Looks like our favorite duo is on their way for errands, despite all the rain!

I got inspired by the weather in my city (it's been raining like crazy for the past weeks!)

Once again I tried my best for backgrounds,,,,,oof haha

I'll post the next page eventually, when it's ready!

Okay so! I made a post a few days ago about a headcanon I came up with: Mrs Tweedy is prone to migraines.

I wanted to give her some vulnerability; make her a little more human in some way.

I made some quick sketches to demonstrate.

(This is my first time drawing Dr.Fry haha)

When the migraines begin, Mrs Tweedy has this blank, dazed look on her face. Dr. Fry is rambling on and on, while she spaces out, knowing what's coming. (This happens to me when I'm getting a headache)

Eventually, the migraine gets worst, and Mrs Tweedy is holding her head in pain.

Then she'd go off alone...into a lounge or personal spot somewhere in the factory so she could lie down....and suffer :c

I want to make a part 2 to these images that I will eventually post. I'm just not very good at drawing humans so even sketches take me a long time to draw! (Plus I'm feeling kinda unwell/sad today which I'd slowing me down further)

I would really like to draw Mrs Tweedy being taken care of...One image of how Dr.Fry would treat her...and another of how Mr Tweedy would in the past when she'd get migraines.

Part 2!

Time to care for Melisha!

"There, there, luv,Mr Tweedy whispered,you'll be right again in no time" Willard didn't know how to help his wife very well during one of her painful migraines. But he'd bring her aspirin, some water, and sit on her bedside in the dark.

During these moments when she felt so ill, she wouldn't hit or strike him or yell. She'd simply lay down quietly as her husband rubbed her back gently in circles.

Now for Dr.Fry!

"Oh my poor,sweet baby angel! I'll save you!!" Dr.Fry exclaimed as tears rolled down his face. Dr. Fry does everything he can for Melisha, even if it's utterly useless. (Gets out thermometers, ice packs, stethoscope, etc)

"It's just a headache, Dr.Fry, Melisha sighed, I'm not dying...." In moments like these, Mrs Tweedy would miss Willard's quiet back rubs.

Here is the first page of my mini W&G comic!

I'll post the 2nd page once it's done. I've posted a poll the other day asking whether you all preferred it if I posted the comic piece by piece, or all in one go. Piece by piece won the majority of votes, so I'll post the pages as I complete them!

I wanted to tell a little story about Wallace trying to cheer up Gromit, who's feeling down. And yes, I'm forcing myself to draw backgrounds (yay me!)

Willard and Kipper out for a day of errands!

"Uncle Willard, what's that?!" Kip exclaims, as she points out something interesting she sees. She really enjoys riding on her uncle's shoulders, and seeing new things in town.

What's fun about shopping with Uncle Willard is how he turns it into a game! While out for groceries, he tells Kip that she must fetch the orange juice without the ninjas getting to her! So determined, and feeling sneaky, Kip makes getting the beloved drink into an important mission!

It's not often that they'll go into town. But when they do, Willard and Kip like taking their time and enjoying each other's presence.

Willard and Kip were about to load the groceries into the lorry and head home when the smell of take-out reached their noses. Kip licked her lips...chips were her favorite thing to eat,ever!

"Your auntie wouldn't be very happy if she knew we got takeout before supper,would she?" Mr. Tweedy said, looking at his niece.

Kipper's face drop and she sighed.

"No...she wouldn't " the girl replied,sadly with her head down.

"But auntie isn't here, is she?" Mr.Tweedy continued, with a cheeky grin.

And Kipper's face lit up!

So there sat the two of them, uncle and niece,enjoying some delicious, salty chips before the ride home! Their little secret from Mrs Tweedy!

I really would like to illustrate more scenes of the Tweedys being parents to Kip! I'm planning to make another like this but with Mrs Tweedy and Kip on a day out!

I did my best, I'm not very good at backgrounds but wanted to try and add them anyway.
