Shoutout to the neurodivergent, disabled, and traumatised folks who have to deal with normie bullshit every day, who get patronised, pitied, victimised, and belittled; who get treated as though they were an exotic freak or weak and broken and need to be "fixed", who feel the full force of the all-encompassing ableism of society whenever they meet someone, interact with someone, or explain their neurotype/disability/trauma; who have a hard time finding support because they can't jump through the humiliating hoops that the system put up to decide who is "worthy of help", who are forced to accept being diagnosed and being described as not enough and helpless in order to get their basic needs met; who are brushed off as too needy, too demanding, too difficult, not-cooperative, resistant, and framed as crazy and self-sabotaging, who are infantilised/animalised/objectified and treated as though they didn't know what was good for them, when they stand up for themselves and refuse to be happy and grateful for all of this abuse.

Hi hi I'm new here and just found your blog I wish you best for your 40 days fast . I recently came across a post where they said fasting is comfortable and feels nice and restricting is hard and uncomfortable . Maybe you know that POST . What's the difference aren't they same
I can't fast for that Long bc I'm new any tips on how I start a 2 day fast where I don't feel like passing out because I'm a premed student so I need brain power . Gosh I wrote a novel sorry
- thanks x
ahhhhhh! Thank you!
for starters
Restricting: Eating very low amounts of food in very controlled way. (Ex: only eating under 400kcals with low carb) Fasting: Not eating anything for a certain period of time. see Intermittent fasting.
Fasting can be seen as easier because you don't have to think about what to eat because youre in the mode of not eating. When you are restricting, you have to only eat certain amounts of certain foods. So for some people it can be seen as harder. (Not everyone feels this way)
I would suggest, like anybody else, to go very slow with your fasting and try to build up to longer fasts.
I suggest because you are a Med Student you definitely need some from of nutrition for your brain lol. I would suggest some vitamin tablets to take while you're fasting. (I wouldn't recommend gummies or chewable variants)
Starting with a 16:8 fast is a really good start, then try to 20:4. Then after you get used to that try only eating the next day in the morning and go from there.
(don't forget that you will still lose weight while you build up for longer fasts.)
Hydration is KEY! Drinking water will stop more than HALF of the symptoms of long term fasting can have. Add an electrolyte drink and 80% of fasting symptoms will be solved. Not drinking a bunch of water during theses times will give you less than a 30% success rate(fasting the amount of time you'd want to)
Hope this helped!
Good Luck with your fast and I believe in you, honey! <3
