Are you doing Artfight again this year? Loved seeing your attacks last year! 🤩❤️

Sadly, I won't be participating in this year's Artfight, no.

I've only just recovered from a pretty intense burnout, and am a bit wary of pushing myself beyond what I can realistically handle, especially since my livelihood quite literally depends on having a well-functioning creative brain.

But I do very much appreciate your lovely feedback, knowing you enjoyed last year's wee doodles brightens my day significantly! ^-^❤️🫶

Gosh, I really love all of his vintage paintings.

I've tried just about everything to find out if they exist in real life, for... hidden lore reasons, I guess, but it seems like they were created solely for the purpose of in-game décor. The closest match I've come across, in terms of motif and style, are the works of Albert Bredow, a 19th-century painter? He did a lot of castle landscapes set in mountainous forests, often shrouded in fog or snow, with a slightly gothic, melancholic atmosphere. Maybe his work served as inspiration? Mmm. Anyway, I love that they're hanging in his office, it's a neat addition to his character!! :D

And thank you for saying you love my style! That's especially sweet to hear because I'm always a bit self-aware about the pookies looking a little different in every single drawing I do. I swear I have reverse same-face syndrome; I can never quite capture them the same way twice? I think?? But maybe that's part of the fun? Each drawing is like meeting them again for the first time, lmao

As for being friends, sure! Just a heads-up though: I'm horrifically bad at keeping up with messages, mostly because I'm a bit of a cryptid when it comes to social energy and texting. I tend to pop in and out like a narcoleptic squirrel, if that makes sense, but I promise it's never personal. So if you're cool with some scattered communication and long silences filled with mutual admiration, I'd be happy to call you a friend! ^-^💖🫶

Also: that fic? You just casually drop a whole emotional gut punch on my doorstep like it's nothing?? I'm unwell. I read the first chapter. I felt it. The detail, the voice, the tone..., the absolute ache of it! It felt like watching a documentary on a wounded animal and knowing I couldn't jump through the screen to help. Like, I want to hug him, then dropkick his bullies into the sun (and push his grandma off a cliff, ugh)

So, after sitting with everything for a while and reading through all your kind, thoughtful responses, I decided to give it a shot and reopened my Patreon.

I won't lie, things are still a lttle shaky. I'm still struggling with a bit of burnout, imposter syndrome, and that familiar pit of self doubt that tells me none of this will work out. But the support, encouragement, and empathy so many of you offered reminded me that I don't have to figure everything out overnight, or even over a year. Maybe I don't need to be at my best all the time to still be doing the thing I love.

So... here's me trying. I'm not promising miracles or perfect consistency, but I want to try building something more stable, something that doesn't rely solely on commissions to keep my head above water.
