First Half Marathon!!
My roommate and I signed up for our first half for September 30th! We have both always wanted to do one and it will be a nice way to see each other again after graduation. I’m starting out with minimal mileage 2-4 mile runs a couple times a week with some yoga thrown in. I’ve decided to build up some base mileage and try to gradually run longer. I’m currently running around 9:30 min/mile and hope to see that drop too. 12 weeks out I’m going to start Hal Higdon’s half training plan, probably novice 2, but I’ll see where I am mileage wise closer to the time. In the meantime looking to extend long runs past 4 miles and get out running more consistently in general. I’ll still be doing yoga 3-4 times a week as some strength and flexibility work. I’m super excited to push myself physically more than I have in a really long time. And I wanted to document it somewhere I’d have it to look back on so here we are! Aiming to get in 10-11 miles total this week. So far so good, I’ll let you know how it goes!
