Caught me slipping
So it’s been about a week of healthy living and healthy eating. And I’ve had my first set back. Not a good day today. I was very stressed out and I took it out on my body by putting the completely wrong food into it all in the name of getting a “sugar rush” thinking it would help me stay focused and awake in classes. Disappointed in myself for slipping already. But really trying not to be too mad, cause set backs are bound to happen on this journey. I really need to step up my game and make tomorrow the type of day today should have
Here’s some things this week has taught me! 1) PLANNING IS EVERYTHING! I used to think that planning all the food that you were going to eat in a day before you even had breakfast was silly and even a little counter productive. I WAS WRONG!! So wrong! Planning your meals is so important in keeping yourself on track. Knowing the times that you need to eat and exactly what you are going to have at those times is key to making healthy choices and not binging on your unhealthy cravings in the name of being hungry. Planning your exercise is just as important as planning your meals! Making time in your schedule is the only way that you are going to get the things done you need to do to make the changes you want to make. I haven’t made exercise a priority this week but that is going to change next week!
2) MEAL PREP IS LIFE! Taking the time to prep your meals at the beginning of the week will make sure you have a full supply of healthy foods to put into your body! Also, when you’re a full time student and work a full time job like I do, not having to worry about cooking every day is just plain awesome.
3) SACRIFICES WILL HAVE TO BE MADE! It’s so easy to fall off the wagon in the beginning. You’re only at the start of the journey so you haven’t developed healthy habits yet! It takes 21 days to break a bad habit and replace it with a good one. Just three weeks of sacrifice and then choosing the healthier alternative will come second nature!
4) SEEK OUTSIDE SUPPORT! Whether it’s your family, friends, or awesomely inspiring strangers you’ve met on the Internet, a support system is such an important part to having a successful weight loss journey. You are a product of who you hang out with…so don’t be afraid to cut the people who aren’t supporting you loose and hold on tighter to the ones who are. Create your own personal cheering squad and surround yourself with people who will encourage you when you’re down and cheer you on when you have small victories!
It’s been a crazy few days! And even though I slipped a little, I haven’t lost focus. I know the changes I need to keep making to get good results. I’m determined to make next week awesome!
