Today I learned oaks can talk with one another and collectively decide not make acorns for an entire year to try and starve as many squirrels as they can so next year’s acorns will have a higher chance of turning into trees, and my entire understanding of the world just shifted a little.

Some more of my favourite style inspiration, browns and creams with a pop of colour are always pretty.

“- Mercedès Iguanada: God has offered us a new beginning.
- Edmond Dantes: God?
- Mercedès Iguanada: Don't slap His hand away.
- Edmond Dantes: Can I never escape Him?
- Mercedès Iguanada: No, He is in everything. Even in a kiss.”

The excitement when I make jam tarts for the first time in a kitchen like this. Washing the dishes in homemade ivory dish soap and then after, going foraging in a nearby wood for mushrooms and herbs.

At the end of it all, in those darkest of day, smiles man atop the mountain debris. He can see the many stars, smell the coming wind, only now does he know that he's free.

~Garden of the Moon~
Yonder orb of dazzling light,
Sinks beneath the robe of night,
And the moon so sweetly pale,
Waits to lift her silver veil.
One by one the stars appear,
Glittering in the heavenly sphere,
And sparkling in their bright array,
Welcome in the close of day.

Edge of the forest - Ida Rentoul Sherbourne Outhwaite (1888 - 1960)
Spring-Time by Dolly Radford
“In the distant woods are blowing
Tender buds and blossoms sweet,
Fragrant leaves and grasses glowing
From the touch of fairy feet.
In the woods a spirit singing
Stays and touches every tree,
And to loving branches clinging
Flowers open tremblingly.”
