Today I learned oaks can talk with one another and collectively decide not make acorns for an entire year to try and starve as many squirrels as they can so next year’s acorns will have a higher chance of turning into trees, and my entire understanding of the world just shifted a little.

The excitement when I make jam tarts for the first time in a kitchen like this. Washing the dishes in homemade ivory dish soap and then after, going foraging in a nearby wood for mushrooms and herbs.

At the end of it all, in those darkest of day, smiles man atop the mountain debris. He can see the many stars, smell the coming wind, only now does he know that he's free.
