Chonky Watchy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Got myself a Watchy (v2.0 clone off Aliexpress) and slapped a 803040 1000mah battery on it for the lols, so designed a shell and strap for it. Also uploaded it to Thingiverse if anyone else with one of these wants to make one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6971561

Started printing with flexibles, so made a new phone case. Not only looks subjectively alright, the slits in the back let me hook in my amp (velcro got annoying after a while). Let's see how this holds long-term.

Omnompad
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you're sick as shit but can't stay forever in bed so you finally learn to wire a key matrix. As well as do something with these lil limit switch adapters I made recently. I should try to make a full board with these lil thingies.

Pushing them buttons
Tumblr media
Wanted a way to easily fit those tiny switches on projects, so that'll do. These suck for typing (too heavy), but will do quite nicely on a macro pad or a controller!

Deez pads again
Tumblr media
Some more design tweaks to this d-pad module, sanded down the parts so there's no scratchiness from the print layer lines, and if that dummy handle I made simply to test the tactility with a proper grip doesn't mean this is actually feeling pretty alright, then I dunno. S'lookin' alright!

Deez Pads
Tumblr media
Surprised I didn't do one of these sooner. Meant to be tacked on as a module, because everything's better with a d-pad!
Still needs some tweaks, but as-is I sure would use it over a lot of current-day offerings lol

Subwobwobwobwob

Driver for the subwoofer finally arrrived, so got that done. For something small meant for a desk this packs more of a punch than I expected!

Numpad Jr
Tumblr media
My thinkpad doesn't have a numpad and could use something more portable than the average USB ones, so… just made one! Used Kailh square mouse buttons and an Arduino Pro Micro.
Sure, tactility's compromised due to size… but look at the cute lil' thingy lol.

You know, I'm not too fond of Kensington's "slab-like" form factor for their trackballs, but their scroll rings do be kinda cool don't they.

More custom trackball!
Tumblr media
Some more progress on this custom trackball. That's the core "module" for it comprised of the main PCB + ball. Stuff like button clusters and wrist rest will literally be bolted on to that.
The ball itself's also 3D-printed, works better than expected!

Custom trackball? Custom trackball.
Tumblr media
Making a custom trackball's easier than I expected! In great part thanks to the folks making arduino libraries for the parts, of course!
Still not 100% sure on a final design, but the electronics work!
Ball's on BTU bearings for no stiction, sensor's a PMW3389, and going with an analog axis for the scroll wheel which works surprisingly well after tuning a pressure curve.

Sure, I COULD've just used a single wire to test the pins, but where's the fun in that?!

Wasn't too happy with the (non-existant) acoustics in the previous enclosure, so made a bigger one with one of them vent tube thingies.
Immediate improvement, they're usable now! Low frequencies EXIST lol

More DIY audio shenanigans
Tumblr media
my PC speakers are sounding like they're about to die (Logitech z213) so figured I'd DIY my way out of it. It'll make it easy to repair/upgrade long-term at least.
Still a WIP, but they sound alright! Need a subwoofer tho, dat bass be DEAD lol
