the way usamericans talk about their military fucks me up. thank you for what service like which service are they providing you with. they're protecting your country from what. they're fighting for the freedom of whomst. why do they need to do that for and why are they doing in it in the middle east
#trust me as a US american it feels weird as fuck to be surrounded by all the military propaganda 24/7#like im surrounded by ppl who will automatically recite the “thank you for your service” line that is drilled into our skulls from childhoo#meanwhile im jim halpert staring into the office camera like :T

”For a moment he looked far away from here. Jean didn’t have to ask where he’d gone; the mess the Wesninski’s made of his face was hard to ignore. “He’s dead, Jean…”.
A comic I made last year, still one of my proudest, love me some quality suffering!!

Katelyn and Aaron ending up next to each other in introduction to anatomy and there's something so familiar about that boy. She mentions it and he scoffs, brushing her off thinking she's talking about the articles about Andrew.
But then she realizes it, all those summers she spent in California visiting her Aunt during the summer. The day camp she got sent to and the boy she met there. He didn't have many friends, didn't have much in his lunch box each day.
His childhood with Tilda is a muddled mess but he remembers a girl. Blonde, kind, went by Kat. Shared her Little Debbie's snacks with him. Let him take the soft center of her cinnamon rolls because it was his favorite part.
He doesn't tell her for weeks once he realizes, it's too unfair. To have her here, just out of reach. His first friend. His forever.

I don't like Allison. I won't say I hate her, but I genuinely just don't like her as a character or a person.
I don't think she qualifies for the Foxes, like obviously I would never say the shit she went through isn't valid, it absolutely is, and no-one's trauma should be demeaned because other people had worse, but every other character's shit is objectively so much worse than hers. The Foxes are meant to give people a second chance, people with no hope left, people from broken homes, people who no-one else would take a chance on (like Renee and Andrew). Allison still has millions of dollars after being disowned and she could have signed on to a number of different teams, the Foxes were not her last resort.
Also the way she treats other people and how demeaning she can be gets under my skin all the time, and again, she had millions of dollars. I will judge anyone who has that much money and doesn't donate (it's not like she's using it to pay for her college, she has a full ride scholarship). Even just the money she gets from bets and shit, she spends on manicures. Her buying an entire row of makeup because she doesn't know Neil's shade is supposed to be a power move, but it honestly just reads as entitled and bratty, and honestly just a waste of product.
.
#people can have whatever opinions they want about the characters#and nobody is obligated to like allison#however. i would like to offer anon a gentle rebuttal#because i think allison is just as deserving of being a fox as all the rest of them#because as much as growing up rich insulates allison from certain problems#it introduces new ones too. we need only look at jeremy knox for examples on what that can look like#having money did not shield allison from developing a life threatening eating disorder as a young teenager#nor did it save her from being roofied and very nearly raped during her freshman year#the thing about allison is that we dont get to see her internal monologue the way we do with Jeremy#nor is her backstory a major focus in the original trilogy the way andrew's and kevin's are#so we dont get to see the nuances of why she qualifies#we know that she was disowned. and that she has managed to hold on to some of her parents resources without their knowledge#such as their personal travel agent#i imagine that she actually doesnt have access to millions. she has a car that her parents bought her before disowning her.#she has a high-limit credit card that she managed to apply for using her father's name and that she is running up debt like crazy#and she uses the money from bets to make the minimum payments#its very likely that she actually *needs* her full ride scholarship#she is probably putting on the appearance of still having wealth as a matter of pride#aa for the makeup... she can in fact return most of that foundation (and most likely will) as long as it is still sealed#she wouldnt have needed to open all of them after all. just the one or two that seemed closest to test on neil's skin#the rest could be taken back and refunded#i would also like to point out that allison's parents probably behave a lot like the wilshire's do#meaning they use their wealth and power as brute force to control and subdue their children#i dont think you can really understand the emotional and psychological damage that can result from that kind of abuse until you've lived it#jeremy coped with drugs#allison coped by starving herself#the difference is that in the end allison put her foot down and walked away#while jeremy still vainly clings to the hope that he can win his mother's love and forgiveness#also. i realize that this happened after she became a fox but allison's boyfriend was quite literally murdered#like. that is a significant aspect of her struggle as a character that I feel is being overlooked by this take.

22 for Ari & Celeste and 4 for Quinn and Aiden??? 👀💕 (So sorry if I misspelled one I'm in a rush rn)
OC Ask Game
4. How would they describe each other if asked? Physically? In personality?
Aiden, poking at Quinn's cheek: Ha! You haven't seen stubborn until you've met this one. Once they set their mind to something, there is no changing it. For better or for worse - and usually, it's for the worse! Getting them to slow down or rest is equally an exercise in futility. Quinn doesn't know the meaning of relax. All they do is obsess over prophetic dreams and vengeance. Boooooring. Quinn, swatting away his hand: Aiden's pride is only matched by his vanity. He's a serial flirt and incapable of taking anything seriously. His own sanity hangs by a thread, and yet he insists on persistently testing mine. It is fortunate for him that he is pretty, or I'd have smothered him with a pillow ages ago. Aiden: So you think I'm pretty. 😏 Quinn, now blushing: No comment.
(Aiden wouldn't come right out and say it because he is well aware that Quinn has Issues with their appearance and that compliments can be a minefield, but he finds them to be very beautiful).
22. When were they the most vulnerable with each other?
If I had to pick one moment, it would be this:
For years, Celeste had held out hope that her mother would come back for her one day, like she promised. All that time, she in the cave her mother hid her in, hunting animals to feed herself and staying in her wolf form almost constantly. Deep down, she had always known her mother wasn't coming back, but a part of her still clung to hope that she was alive. Until the night Ari told her she knew of a spirit. It haunted the forest, wandering aimlessly as if in search of something. It flitted away and disappeared whenever Ari had tried to approach before, emitting an agonized wail that resembled the howl of a wolf. For years, Ari had tried to find the source of the spirit's pain, to no avail. Now, having learned Celeste's story, she thought she finally understood. Celeste was in denial at first, but she reluctantly agreed to join Ari in tracking down the spirit that night. Together they ventured into the forest under waning moonlight. Celeste's skin itched; the full moon had passed a week prior, but she still felt the wolf in her set it's teeth on edge. Then, she heard it; the howl of a wolf, achingly familiar. It had been years, over two decades, but Celeste would know that howl anywhere- "Mama," she choked out, stumbling to a halt. Ari grabbed her tunic to try and steady her, but she wasn't strong enough to keep Celeste on her feet. Instead, she fell to her knees alongside her, murmuring words of comfort that faded to buzzing in Celeste's ear. Then, she smelled it. Her mother's scent, earthy and warm and home. Tears welled in her eyes only to be furiously scrubbed away. Then Ari's hand found hers, and the blueish glow of the spirit flooded the forest glen. It was the shape of a wolf - Mama's wolf - and the edges of its silhouette flickered like candlelight. "My little pup," Yvette breathed, the glow of her spirit pulsing as she spoke, "I have found you at last." "I'm here, Mama," Celeste sobbed, "I waited for you. Just like you said." "So you did," her mother whispered, "You were so brave. I'm so proud of you, Celeste." her mother's spirit wavered, a new pain filling her voice, "I'm sorry it took me so long to find you. Celeste shook her head fiercely, unable to speak. "Yvette," Ari spoke, so softly Celeste almost missed it, "Can you tell us what happened to you?" Her mother's spirit paused as it seemed to acknowledge Ari's presence for the first time. "I tried to draw the hunter away, to keep you safe. I thought I could move faster on my own, outrun him and then make my way back to you." Yvette answered, her voice halting and uncertain, as if recalling her death was a terrible struggle, "But it was a trap. When I awoke, everything was dark, and I knew I must be dead. But I had to find you, I couldn't leave you alone. My darling pup, my little girl… I was so worried about you." "I'm okay now, Mama," Celeste said, her own voice broken from crying, "So you don't have to worry anymore. You can let go."
Ari squeezed her hand, but Celeste could hardly feel it past the numb shock still lingering in her limbs. Yvette's spirit glowed brighter, as if she too was overcome. "You there. Witch." she said, her commanding tone barely concealing the emotion in her voice, "Take care of her. Promise me." "I will," Ari said, her own eyes now damp, "I promise." Then Yvette's spirit faded from the world, and Celeste collapsed into Ari's waiting arms and wept.

#in my first Official job#i was a sandwich maker/cashier at Wendys#now the thing you have to understand about working in fast food is that Time is everything#specifically. drive-thru times#we were given a goal time for 1) taking an order 2) assembling the order 3) accepting payment 4)and delivering the order of 120 seconds.#2 minutes per car. that was the goal#that meant the moment somebody approached the intercom and began to say their order.#the sandwich maker has already started making it. the coordinator is preparing their drinks#the fry guy (if there is one) is getting fries served up#if theres no fry guy then either the dine-in sandwich maker or the coordinator does that#the cashier is getting napkins straws and condiments ready#the grill guy is putting down patties to replace the ones we're selling in the order#all of this is so that when you pull up to the drive through window and hand over your payment#your order is bagged and your drinks are ready#so that as soon as the cashier hands you your card/change back#they can then reach over. take your completed order from the coordinator. and hand it to you.#fast food service (when things are running smoothly and everyone is on their A game) is a well-oiled machine. everyone is in sync.#everyone is calling out what they have up#but that also meant that if you werent paying attention. if you were running low on sandwich toppings or if the grill couldnt keep up.#if somebody forgot to drop fries or if the soda machine ran out of coke#then that time was not possible to achieve.#because then you'd be waiting for fries to cook#or you'd be scrambling to chop more lettuce because whoever did prep that day didnt chop enough in advance#it was a frantic and often stressful work environment#but my god did i learn how to work in a coordinated team effort and multi-task
