I want to take a moment and thank Hulk Hogan for instilling values like that in me when I was a little kid. I took those words to heart. I have failed at times to live up to them, but this idea that this what we SHOULD be, has stayed with me my whole life.
I genuinely think that role models like this, simple as they are, can help children be better people, and principles like those his character portrayed back when I was an impressionable 8 year old helped me be a better person today.
It's a shame he never really learned to embrace those principles himself, and instead turned out to be a racist, scab, MAGA, piece of shit.
Sometimes your hero's can turn out to be monsters. Don't let that diminish the good things you learned. Be better than them.
In the case of Terry Bollea, it's a pretty low bar.
