You shouldn't exist.
You know that, you can feel it deep within your bones, in your mind. You're something that should have never been. No one thought it possible, that a half-werewolf and a half-vampire could conceive.
Yet here you are, a Pricolici.
Pricolici: a werewolf/vampire fusion in the Romanian folklore.
You're the first and only of your kind. Lucky you. Your very existence has been kept secret from majority of the clans. Be that vampire, werewolf, or hunter.
You used to believe the secrecy of your existence was due to the laws that forbid werewolf and vampire unions. Now something tells you that your existence isn't just happenstance.
Normally this would be a positive, easy way for you to be able to keep your head on in this corrupt city you call home.
That's until a blood moon graces the sky, and for the first time in your life; your body decides it's time to finally change. Into what you don't know, and neither does it.
You can't "shift".
That itself is killing you, muddying your mind and your body, your very existence trying to erase itself. Your only choice is to find a way to finally change. Into what that's for you to decide.
Shift or die.

Customize your character, gender, personality, and appearance.
Uncover the secrets of your very existence.
Keep warring clans from killing one another, hopefully.
Player choices will dictate whether your Pricolici will be more like a vampire, werewolf, or somewhere in between.
Romance three separate characters who will help shape your story.
Shift or die.

Carver [M|NB] - One of the few vampires who actually knows of your existence. Though how that came to be is still something you would like to forget. Carver is a wanna-be bigshot, who happened to rope you into being their "partner", as you two try to keep the city streets somewhat livable. They're aloof, lazy, and a pain in your ass.
Keegan [M] - The local alpha. Keegan runs the black market of the city with the help of some of his rambunctious crew. He's protective of his pack, and always looking out for them. He's kind and charismatic unless you have ill will toward his family. Then you better watch out for his bite.
Harmony [F] - She is the younger sister of your former (deceased) lover. The only human you can really stand. She has somehow become your best friend, with a gentle touch and kind words. You never knew why you were tasked with protecting her, but you may soon find out.
Thana [F] - She has an interest in history, which results in her taking a great interest in the clans and their forming. While Thana comes off as short-tempered and a bite to her words, she just sees no point in idle gossip and finds it hard to interact with others. As a former lover of Carver, Thana is quick to talk you into finding another partner. Is it for your own safety or something else?
????

Shift is 18+ for violence, adult themes, explicit language, sexual situations, etc.
Reblogs are appreciated.

Update.
the rpg- while still very early- has a lot of the same themes as Windwood did. except just a lot more religious. you play as an angel during doomsday. originally for windwood i had this whole scene planned out for discovering the garden of eden and meeting god themself and i probably won’t share it unless specifically asked to.
on another hand, i’m still writing and developing IF, just on a different account. i’ll only start posting about it once i get a demo out there though. the only thing i can say about it is that it’s about being a werewolf in a medieval fantasy setting. just in case you’re wondering why i’ve decided to scrap windwood but continue this project, it’s most likely due to a change in interest. while windwood is still fantasy and very much something i’m into, it was not well planned out and the plot was not cohesive at all. there’s a chance i’ll pick it back up later on, just not anytime soon.
i will, however, post more about my worldbuilding i did for windwood. it’s just so scrumptious to me. especially the angels.
have a lovely day!

okay so i know i like dipped and whatnot but that’s because i have been working super duper hard and have decided to scrap windwood and make it a pixelated rpg, it’ll still be like super early in development but some characters from windwood will be transferred over to this game, like foster and ness and whatnot. this game will take place way into the future and if it does well i’ll probably go back and continue writing windwood, since the events of windwood will still have happened in this game.
super sorry about this turn of events!

What is the age rating for this if?
Currently it is 14+ though set to change later on. Windwood will include stuff like violence and swearing and blood etc. On another topic, whether or not it will include optional sexual content will be decided later on, though I do have plans to write side stories for certain characters, if I choose for the game itself to not include sexual content then there will be side stories for it.
Thank you for the ask! x

from 1-10, how nice are each of the ROs?
A majority of them are actually assholes and I love that for them. Of course there are a couple nice ones though!
I will also assume this is before relationships and early crushing stages, because after relationships all of them will of course be nice to their S/O!
Marian: I wanna say 8/10, because he’s nice to the MC, as they’ve been friends for a while, but to other people he’s more of a 6/10.
Ness: again, it’s a little different for how nice he is to the MC and to other people. To the MC it’s 8.5/10 and to other people it’s a 3/10. He used to be so nice and polite but after going evil..
Foster: he’s a.. 4/10 overall. He’s not exactly used to talking to people. You’ll see what he’s like later on.
Casimir: a 6/10. He’s polite for the sake of his position but he’s not going to make it a good time to talk to him. In private he’s more of a 5/10.
Amihan: a neutral 5/10. He’s not outright mean but he’s not nice about it either. He does what he must, and if you’re in the way of it he will push you aside.
Freyja: a solid 1/10. She’s practically feral. She lashes out and acts rude, even if you’re trying to be nice.
Sonja: a 4/10, she’s a little cold and mean but she’s not downright evil. She’ll give you the cold shoulder and all but she’s not going to leave you for dead.
Maeryn: absolutely 1/10. I would go lower if I could. She’s actively trying to kill the MC, destroying everything in her path to get to them.
Lumina: a nice 8/10. She is kind and lighthearted, like a true priestess of Andermyne.
Eliana: a 7/10, she’s nice when she wants to be, but sometimes you can get her real angry.
Thank you for the ask!

43. What is the DND alignment? For all the ROs
Here you go! Some of them are a little easier than the others(Freyja).
Marian is neutral good. He does what he’s told but he’s not exactly a big fan of following rules. He’s also just naturally inclined to do the right thing, values instilled upon him at a young age.
Ness is lawful evil. As much as I may want to say he’s chaotic or even neutral evil, I just can’t picture him being chaotic. He liked to follow rules and wasn’t a fan of getting in trouble before turning all dark lord, and even afterwards he’s not necessarily chaotic.
Foster is true neutral. He’s not a good person, but he’s also not an evil one. There are no rules for him to follow and nothing he can really get in trouble doing considering his position. He doesn’t care if he’s being mean and he doesn’t care if he’s being nice.
Casimir is lawful good. Being a prince, he has to follow the rules, and he’s not a fan of evil. He may come across as mean at first but everything he does is for his kingdom. He does what he knows he must.
Amihan is lawful neutral. His only point in life is to protect his home. He’s not inclined to niceties or being an asshole. Similarly to Casimir, Amihan does what he’s supposed to, what’s expected of him, because he doesn’t know of a life where he doesn’t.
Freyja is chaotic neutral. She does what she wants whenever she wants to. She doesn’t care or even know what’s good or bad. All her life she’s just had one goal, to survive. And survive she does, getting her hands bloody if that’s what it takes.
Sonja is lawful neutral. She does what she’s told, but she really doesn’t care much for the life of a princess. Always overlooked and tossed aside, Sonja is used to being second choice, so she doesn’t care how others view her.
Maeryn is chaotic evil. She hunts down those she’s told, enjoying it. She only cares about the hunt, about her target, about the adrenaline and bloodlust. Maeryn has no sympathy for the families of those she’s killed, she just wants blood.
Lumina is lawful good. A priestess at a church, she believes the path to greatness is a path of peace and kindness. She’s naïve and impressionable, always wanting to go what’s good and what will help people. Lumina follows the rules, she does whatever she can to be a good person.
Eliana is chaotic neutral. She’s not good but not bad, and she does what she wants when she wants, making important decisions without so much as sparing a thought on the outcome. A dangerous thing for a high born noble to do. Eliana is used to getting what she wants, and she knows how to get what she wants.
Thank you for the ask! <3

Hello there! Can you tell us more about the unnatural traits the MC can have? ^^
Hi! When customizing the MC, you can have unnaturally colored eyes like red or pink or yellow, as well as hair. The MC also has a certain trait that stands out which can be antlers, rabbit ears, wings, scales, horns, or a tail(more to be added soon!). When you choose why kind of fae the MC is, you will have the option of if the MC resembles that part of themself more, like having patches of fur, or feathers, or pointed ears, or even dark sclera.
While the hair and eye colors are optional, the extra trait and glow to the eyes are not, the MC will always have something that sets them apart from humans, something that marks them as fae. And when the MC gets older there’ll be choices for scars or tattoos or both. The MC will also be able to have piercings then.
Thank you so much for asking!

You had me at 'Customize your MC to the max'...
Oh and did I see something about a Dark Lord...that's it, that all I need, might as well go ahead and send me the Demo Early, I need it!!😄🤣
Yes!! I love having a lot of customization in games! I knew immediately that Windwood would have a lot of customization options.
The Dark Lord is actually one of my favorites, his personality is just so fun to write. Both before and after the timeskip.
Thank you so much for sending this in! I know my blog is a little… desolate.. at the moment, but I’m working on it!

Things that People Forget About When Writing Sword Fights
You don’t have to dodge by a foot. You only have to dodge by an inch.
Not all swords are made the same way. You wouldn’t fight with a katana the same way you would fight with a broadsword.
You don’t need to aim for the heart or the head. Get the vein in wrist, and you could incapacitate that hand.
Small cuts matter. If you’re cut up enough, you’re going to start suffering from blood loss, and that’ll put you at a disadvantage.
The blade isn’t the only thing that matters. There isn’t some set of rules in sword fighting where you can only stick the stabby end into the other person. Hit them in the head with the hilt, and they’ll feel it.
If there are multiple attackers, you want to incapacitate or kill each one as quickly as possible. Endurance matters, especially when you’re not only swinging/stabbing/aiming something that is 2-5 lbs (ceremonial ones were a lot heavier, but wouldn’t be generally fought with) but also taking/blocking heavy blows from at least one opponent.

I think a big issue in the IF community is that readers need to realize when to walk a way from something that isn’t for them. You’re not going to like everything out there, it’s okay to say something isn’t for you! But that doesn’t mean an author needs to change their story, that is often times written for themselves first, to make it something that you’ll like.

Romance Options
The Best Friend
Marian Moller (M. he/him)
“As long as i’m here you’ll be safe, i promise,”
Marian, the best friend and prince of Premxine. Marian Moller is fiercely loyal and stubborn, having always been there for you no matter what. To everyone else he’s brash and irresponsible, but you know that’s not the case.
At 5’7, Marian has short, curly pink hair and yellow eyes. He has tan skin, sharp teeth, and has often been said to have an almost childlike face. Marian also has long, pointed ears with feathers framing them.
The Dark Lord
Ness Lodima (M. he/they)
“What have we become? I never wanted this to happen,”
The estranged childhood friend turned evil dark lord. Previously a softhearted optimist, what Ness had been put through changed him. When you knew him as a child he was training to be a druid, but it seems his plans have changed.
5’9, long wavy blond hair with matching yellow eyes, fair skin spotted with freckles. His ears may not be as pointed as any other fae, but they are pointed nonetheless.
The Angel
Foster (M. he/him)
“God never saved me, never helped me when I needed it most, so why should I believe?”
The angel that doesn’t believe in god with repressed memories of heaven. Foster is the holy statue at the church of Andermyne. Short in both height and temper, it’s easy to rile him up, but maybe a more gentle approach is what you need. Foster is key in your plans to stop the end, but can he be convinced to help?
Foster has short fluffy black hair, olive skin with a smattering of scars, and dark brown eyes. Foster stands at 5’2 with a wingspan twice that length. Over his right eye is a large scar that resembles stone cracking.
The Prince
Casimir Kozanaft (M. he/him)
“I do what i must, and if that’s getting rid of you, so be it,”
As the human prince of Afturella, Casimir has a reputation to uphold. With all eyes on him, he can’t afford a slip-up. Taking care of his younger sister Sonja and younger brother Myla, Casimir has his hands full. As independent as ever, Casimir is fully capable of taking charge.
Casimir is 5’8 with shoulder length auburn hair he keeps tied back. He has soft hazel eyes and tan skin with a mole under his left eye. Casimir is commonly said to look pretty, almost like a girl.
The Ranger
Amihan (M. he/they)
“You don’t have to worry about a thing, i’ve got you”
Your protector, the sylph ranger. Amihan’s only goal is to keep you and your group alive, even if it’s at the expense of their own life. With a martyr complex and no regard for human life, Amihan makes a great bodyguard, not so much a great friend.
6’4, smooth brown skin, curly white hair and silver eyes, Amihan is often described as imposing, towering over most. Over his left eye Amihan has a black sylph tattoo, spiraling over.
The Beast
Freyja (F. she/they)
“Don’t touch me, don’t go near me, don’t even look at me,”
Freyja is a wild thing. Living in the Windwood forest, she’s been isolated for so long. She rejects humanity, fighting against all she sees until there is only peace. Hostile and aggressive, Freyja sees nothing in you, but can you change their mind? All she is may just be a damaged soul.
Freyja is 5’5, with long, curly chestnut hair and fierce yellow eyes. If you catch her smiling you’ll see sharp canines. She has light brown skin, spotted with white freckles. Leaves and twigs tangled in her hair around tall antlers. Freyja has ash speared across her eyes and covering her hands.
The Princess
Sonja Kozanaft (F. she/her)
“You don’t know me, stop acting like you do,”
A stone faced, cold hearted woman who only cares about herself. Sonja is closed off and aloof, not wanting to open her heart up. Sonja doesn’t trust easily and her default response to anything is disbelief. Sonja seems like an ice queen, but is there more to it?
5’6, Sonja looks as royal as she is. Sonja has long wavy blonde hair, spotless fair skin, and blue eyes.
The Huntress
Maeryn (F. she/her)
“Such a shame you’re fae, i would’ve loved to have you as my partner,”
Maeryn is what most would call ruthless or crazy. So much blood is on her hands but she’s proud of the fact. Her words can be sharp, but they can also be sweet. You never truly know what’s on her mind, hard to read and conniving. Once she likes someone, she sticks to them, ever so loyal. Is there a motive behind her actions?
The tallest out of the bunch, Maeryn stands at 6’6. She has long blonde locs, violet eyes, and brown skin.
The Priestess
Lumina Durren (F. she/they)
“May Andermyne bless your kind soul,”
Lumina is a kindhearted priestess in the church of Andermyne. Everything she does is gentle- the way her hands clasp together in prayer, even when she lifts a book she treats it with the care you would give an animal. The caretaker of the church’s orphanage, they teach the kids that have nobody left to turn to. But in good, there is always evil.
Lumina is 5’3, with long curly ginger hair, two front strands blonde. She has green eyes and pale skin. With her priestess outfit you can see a four pointed star tattoo on her collarbone.
The Noble
Eliana Derlot (F. she/her)
“Don’t say that, I gave you what you wanted, didn't I?”
Lady of House Derlot, Eliana knows her way around the intricacies of the court. Used to facades and snakes, Eliana has a hard time believing things said, yet values honesty at the same time. The young Lady knows what she wants and how to get it, making her a valuable addition.
Eliana is 5’7, with long wavy brown hair and tanned skin. She has sea green eyes with a mole under her left.
