name: My names Beatrice and I'm often referred as Ida Beatrice or "bea"
pronouns: she/they
when did you start writing poetry?
“I started to take my writing more seriously then I was 15 but I've written since I was 13”
why did you join the zine?
“I joined because I adore the people that's in a Google classroom together & sharing their poetry & then the zine was born and it felt right to join. I have loved every moment so far!”
who are your biggest inspirations poetry-wise?
“don't really have a specific poet or writer that influence my writing but I find a lot of my inspiration in music & bits and pieces from pinterest. My own works is often inspired by events or feelings”
how do you feel about putting your poetry “out there” for the zine?
“I'm thrilled! I haven't had the time to actually get my work out there properly but it's a great opportunity to actually get it out there together with a lot of other great poets!”
lastly, favorite line of a poem?
“This is actually a hard one but one of my recent favorite poem is "I’ve been smoking a lot
and starting to doubt
if I’m breathing you in
or smoking you out." By Keaton Henson”

“I joined the zine because I thought that this would be a divine experience and opportunity. A joyful way to get my work out into the world and connect with other poets”
who are your biggest inspirations poetry-wise?
“My biggest inspirations for writing poetry are the works of Vincent Van Gogh, historical moments, and my life experiences”
how do you feel about putting your poetry “out there” for the zine?
“I feel pretty good about putting my poetry out there for zine. I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to do such a thing”

"My favorite line of "Mama" by Nikita Gill is, "Mama, I hope you're proud of me, I may have let their poison under my skin, but I let it drip out of my fingers as poetry."

“The poet D. H. Lawrence, my grandfather and a close friend of mine who writes”

“I'm nervous and excited to be sharing my poetry”

when did you start writing poetry?
“Maybe early high school. A teacher of mine really liked one I wrote for class and it made me feel inspired to do more”
why did you join the zine?
I don't often share my poetry, and what better way to share it than anonymously online?
who are your biggest inspirations poetry-wise ?
“Honestly I don't have any! That may be bad, but I just try to go off my own compass. I will say, though, that I do like Mado Michio and Takada Toshiko”
how do you feel about putting your poetry “out there” for the zine?
“Nervous! I feel vulnerable. My poetry is from my heart and I'm worried people won't like what it has to offer. Also, I'm not sure how good my poetry is in general! I am excited, though. Trying not to let the "what if's" bother me”
lastly, favorite line of a poem?
But tonight he is alive and in the north field with his mother. It is a perfect summer evening: the moon rising in the orchard, the wind in the grass. And he stares into the sky, there are twice as many stars as usual. [The Two-Headed Calf, Laura Gilpin]

“It depends what you qualify as poetry, I've had notebooks full of ramblings and things that are vaguely poetic for years, but I only really started writing proper poems a few years ago”

“Sappho (typical I know), Lesbia Harford and a wide variety of people I follow online”
why did you join the zine?
“To challenge myself to put my writing out there!”

“A bit nervous but something I'm trying to be more confident about”

“I started writing poetry sometime in 2019 because of my English class but I really enjoyed the art form so I’ve been using poetry as a way to get my thoughts out of my brain ever since”
why did you join the zine?
“I joined the zine because I wanted to support anything that gives young writers a place to share their voices”
how do you feel about putting your poetry “out there” for the zine?
“It’s a little nerve wracking. The other people in the zine are so incredibly talented so that’s a little intimidating but over all it’s really exciting!”

“To find a community and platform with creators my age, as being intimidated by those that are older and more experienced than you is a huge factor in why so many young people don't pursue art”

“Joan Tierney, Emilie Autumn, and Elizabeth Barret Browning”
how do you feel about putting your poetry “out there” for the zine?
“At first, I was definitely nervous. But after becoming acquainted with the other creators here and their works, I'm more excited than anything. The idea of strangers seeing my work and connecting with it kills any anxiety I walked in with”

who are some of your biggest inspirations poetry-wise?
“I adore Neil Gaiman's work in both writing and poetry, and I have learned so much from Brandon Sanderson over the years! In terms of inspiration though, nothing gets me writing like listening to my favorite artists like Hozier, Mothica, or Heilung”
how do you feel about putting your poetry “out there” for the zine?
“Excited! This is the first zine I've participated in, so I can't wait to make ot a memorable one!”
lastly, favorite line of a poem?
“This might seem a bit conceited, but I love the last line of a short poem I wrote called "Dead Boys Floatin'", "Airborne in death alone, they make a polished pattern, Watching me as I swallow their minute piece of a corpse."
