Ok so people have told me that I'm being vagued about, and this has already taken a toll on my mental health but the fact that people can tell that it's me being vagued about is making me concerned that others might be being misled.

Under a cut because woof, are you guys in for a ride.

There is a certain BNF in this fandom. This BNF was my friend and sometimes, because of their neurodivergencey, they have trouble realising that the way they're communicating with someone is inappropriate. This is valid to some extent and can be afforded a little grace, however one of the things they have been known to do is condescend to other fans and sometimes call other people stupid for diagreeing on an interpretation or opinion regarding a children's tv show.

This person has been known to get particularly aggressive over a specific season of their favourite show. The season itself was controversial: many people didn't like it and thought it lacked the tv show's nuance and complexity. I myself thought the season was lackluster.

This person doesn't like it when people talk about the season negatively. The actually left a private server after some other fans were talking about the kind of culture they wanted their server to have. One particular quote was that other people shouldn't be called stupid for not liking said season.

This person felt called out by this. They felt that they could not adequately express their feelings and opinions about said season in the server because of this discussion. They told me they couldn't understand why they felt other people were misunderstanding them, and because they were my friend, I wanted to help them. They wanted examples of things they said that could be misconstrued. All I did was clarify that people just don't like being called stupid for not agreeing with their interpretations.

This is the conversation that followed:

This was part of a two-day long conversation and we did eventually come to an understanding in spite of the above. I wrote and sent them ia199 as a sort of peace offering and they responded with this:

Regrettably, I didn't screencap my response but I think I said something like:

"There is nothing I can say that would be respectful to my feelings that won't also make the problem worse, so I'm just going to leave it. Take whatever time you need."

They then contacted me on Discord and we had another conversation which went as follows:

This happened in November 2024. You may notice it is now May 2025, and they've been vagueblogging about it and about me for months. Maybe they do have trouble communicating and I get that, but when they came to me saying they didn't understand, I took that in good faith and wanted to help. This person was my friend and I knew they were neurodivergent, but I didn't think neurodivergency was an excuse to call people stupid and belittle them. I still don't think that being neurodivergent means that you're incapable of treating people with respect.

This entire ordeal was and remains hurtful and frustrating. You guys may have noticed I'm not really active on Tumblr anymore and it's because of this and the way it affects my mental health. Everytime someone sends me a post implying I was being ableist for trying to help them with something they told me they couldn't understand, it stings all over again.

I have seen this person accuse people of being racist, arophobic, and/or ableist to retain the moral high ground in disagreements. I have seen them throwing around their popularity, their degree, and their neurodivergency to justify their behaviour.

You have too, and we all just let it happen because they're The Popular Blog of the fandom.

Enough is enough. This isn't okay.
