There's a lot of times in the show where Brennan explains things to people that they obviously know, everyday things, not relating to anthropology or forensics. A lot of people assume she's being rude or condescending but I think it's her trying to be nice because there's a lot of times where people, especially Booth and Angela, explain things to her before she even has to ask. I think she's trying to return the favour. They explain things they know to her so she should do the same.

I’ll often write a fic solely because a line got into my head and wouldn’t go away so I built something around it.

It's such an amazing feeling when someone picks up on something in your writing that you 100% intended but didn't think people would notice. Like, YES!! so Sasha has said on many occasions that she did get to give some feedback on lines and such

and by the end of the series she’d say “I wouldn’t say that” rather than “Maura wouldn’t say that” bc she was intertwined with the character.

based on some other things she said, my guess is a lot of this was Maura being semantically creative to avoid lying.

And my theory is that she caught this one too, and simply didn’t inform anyone.

They spend 5 seasons establishing that Dr. Maura Isles, Chief Medical Examiner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, cannot and does not in fact lie. There is even physical evidence when/if she does in the form of hives.

In 5x04, she points at Jane and casually says "She's a lesbian. Gay." when a man buys a pregnant Jane wine at the Robber as a means of "letting him down easy" instead of just, you know, the truth of Jane being pregnant.

No hives in sight.
