not even a lando fan but it irks me to see the way people talk about his mental health. why are literal commentators of the sport saying stuff like “i hope for his own sake that he wins” or “it would be a great confidence boost for him”?? they don’t talk like this about any other driver. he showed vulnerability during interviews a few times, which i think is actually important in this sport but that’s besides the point, and now it’s just constantly held against him. there is a fine line between showing sympathy and pity and the latter does not show your support.
