Hiii hello, long time no see (again) I’ve been busy with my degree… but I’m super happy with what I’ve achieved during this term.

I made my own interpretation of Swan Lake for two of my uni courses. And honestly, I think I have a pretty good ground work for …something.

First of, princess Odette. I chose to forsake any ballet related items such as tutus and pointe shoes to make this interpretation. She’s just how I imagine her to look like in her human form.

Translation: “The embroidery of her dress is the source of inspiration for Rothbart to curse Odette into becoming a Swan during the day”

And secondly, my own new idea (At least, I couldn’t find anything relating to it. If it does exist I’d love to know).

When prince Siegfried declares his eternal love to the black swan, Odette doesn’t stay as a mere swan forever. Rothbart’s curse transformers her into this

A monstrous, yet strangely beautiful creature, half woman half swan.

In my version, I think that it would be interesting for Odette to fight and defeat Rothbart in order to free herself from the curse. He would have unknowingly given her the power to fight back. Since his reason behind cursing her in the first place was her rejection of him “so no other man would ever want her again”, he would only think about what looking like a monster would do to her.

With Rothbart gone, Odette would still need her true love to profess his love to her, but the story would now challenge Siegfried’s feelings further with the presentation of the swan queen in her monstrous form. In either scenario, Odette wouldn’t kill herself any longer. She would either get her happily ever after, beauty and the beast style, or she would stay a monster. Spending her days as the swan queen and protecting the other women-turned-swans with her new-found power.

It’s still a very vague idea but I thought it was worth sharing. If anyone has thoughts on this I’d love to hear it.

🚨🚨🚨🚨NEW GENSHIN OC ALERT 🚨🚨🚨🚨

His name is Xihuitl and he is a pyro catalyst, Ball player from Natlan :3

OK SO. I’m really really really pleased with the result of this new character. I myself am Mexican, so when it was confirmed Natlan has soooome influence from Mexico, I decided to make him.

Xihuitl is a “Ball player”. The sport I am referring to is a traditional game/ritual performed in some regions of Mesoamerica, what today is mostly Mexico (Guatemala and Honduras too, but I’m not sure in the specifics). It goes by multiple names: tlachtli u ollamalistli in Nahuatl, pitz in classic Mayan.

His name means comet in Nahuatl. I chose this name bcs I imagine his attacks as him blasting enemies away with fire balls, but as if he was playing his sport.

His design has influences from both Mexica (his clothing), Mayan (body paint) and modern Mexican culture. The feathers he wears are Quetzal, a bird typical from the geographical zone these cultures are from.

As for his personality and back story? Well, I haven’t thought much about it. I just know he is a himbo, leaning more towards jock. Also he would be best friends with Itto and be super enthusiastic about his beetle fights.

Hey there! I’ve been suuuuuuper busy with school lately. Sorry for having this blog so abandoned lately.

I haven’t been able to focus much on my assignments without thinking of Corinne, so I’ve been making my assignments around her when I can !

Never mind I am a visionary bcs TELL ME WHY SHE FITS SOOOO WELL WITH FONTAINE’S AESTHETIC?!!?!

Yes, another Corinne post. I just really love her so much!!

Mini rant ahead:

After the Fontaine leaks, I realized she doesn’t fit the overall apparent aesthetic of the rest of the characters. It’s really a shame, I wish we got to see brighter colors instead of the industrial and muted ones.

I know Fontaine is the nation of mechanical advancement and all that, but I personally feel like it really was a missed opportunity to not incorporate movements like rococo and French baroque into the character designs themselves… oh well.

On the roll of Corinne content, a previous doodle I made of her and @lonely-lost-soul 's OC Arashi!

WELL I looked at Corinne for too long and decided I hated my previous design for her.. so I made a new one! I can finally say I’m happy with how she looks, and I certainly hope you guys like her new look too!

 Some extra details and facts can be found under the cut!

Her vision is still placed on her lower back, at the center of the bow she wore on her previous design, since I decided to keep that element for this new look!

I had to let go of some of the barroque detailing in gold, so now her shoes are way more intricate than before, which I'm sure will be a huge pain to draw every time.

Her fighting style resembles a needle and thread to match her fashion designer gimmick, so that’s why there’s a thread-like elemental power coming out of her sword. 

I guess it’s very similar to Yelan’s ability in that regard, but Corinne’s ability would pierce through her enemies instead of capturing them.

A slight change in her personality from the original is that she is a less trusting and sheltered individual, so she may come off as snobby or rude upon first meeting her.

She's got a soft spot for excitable and joyful individuals, so people and creatures like that have a better chance at swaying her.
