IT IS NOT OKAY TO TELL SOMEONE WHAT THEY CAN AND CAN'T DO ON THEIR OWN BLOG IF THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THEIR CHARACTER OR STORY

Some of my friends over the year and a half I've been on here have been harassed or pressured into dropping stories or feeling like they can't play the character like they want to. I've seen this happen a lot with blogs that are a little darker in nature or have storylines that involve a darker tone.

That's not okay.

No one has the right to tell anyone else what they can or can't do just because their blog is different from theirs. This is a fucking community, and that means that there's going to be stuff that only a fraction of the people will like.

This does not excuse blogs that have tried to do plots that involve actually disgusting topics or storylines. There are some things that shouldn't be put out there for anyone to stumble across, let alone in a public space like this.

The point is that if you deliberately drive away a member of the community just to make yourself happier, that's the absolute wrong way to handle it.

Just block them for god's sake.

You don't want to see the story but you like the character? Block tags.

And if tags would get rid of too much, then I'm sorry but you should just not interact with them anymore. Live with the guilt/sadness about not interacting with them. Don't make them change to fit your narrative.

There's a difference between setting healthy boundaries and intentionally making a situation more difficult than it has to be.

I'm disappointed in anyone that has done this to others. This is a creative outlet for many of us, and you don't have the right to restrict how they can express themselves. It's supposed to be fun. Don't take it so seriously that it's affecting you in real life.

Period.

I'm done with this shit.

OOC: Little update.

I think I'm going to put this blog on an indefinite hiatus. I have a feeling I'll come back to it eventually, but I've just felt really burnt out with Gray. He's a great character to play, and I'm really glad you all loved interacting with him, but I really don't want to force myself with something I'm supposed to be having fun with.

The same will apply to any other blogs I have connected to this one, and for the Barren Lands AU blog.

Thinking about starting a new blog based on the Pokemon Masters game, and I'll post any info talked about on my main, @crescent-cubed.

Your understanding is appreciated, and I'll see you guys around!

Thank you?? Y'all are great, and clearly a bunch of my newer followers love sending asks which is AMAZING even if my inbox is suddenly intimidatingly full. I will answer each of them, and I appreciate each and every one of them, thank you!

I'm going to do an event similar to what I did for my 100 follower event (didn't do a 200 follower event because Iiiiii just didn't). Basically once I open the event you can either submit your character (if there is reasonable grounds for them interacting) OR you can request a certain prompt for a little ficlet.

I do this because I cannot draw well nor do I enjoy doing it lol. There will be some ground rules, and you will get a chance to approve the ficlet before I post it, but that's the gist of it. I write you a thing. Brandy will be there. There will be a limited number of spots because of course there will you guys c'mon I'm not that fast.

Puts a torchic in your inbox

Hm.

Well. Something wasn’t adding up here.

Marvin stared down at the tiny Torchic in his hands. It was warm, pleasantly so, as if he was holding the world’s cutest… ok he wasn’t sure if they had names or not but he was imagining one of those little pillow things you put in the microwave and they get all warm. Yeah, those. It was like holding one of those.

While normally holding something as adorable and small as this little fellow here wouldn’t be an issue for him, Torchic weren’t native to Pinwheel Forest. So the question of how this little guy ended up here was a bit of a mystery. Did it get lost? Maybe this was some trainer’s partner and the two had been separated. Or maybe this was evidence of a new and potentially invasive Torchic population? Or maybe a shiny breeder had dumped some hatchlings out.

Marvin remembered an incident a few weeks ago where someone released dozens and dozens of Spinarak into the forest after a failed breeding project. The rangers had to get involved and it was a whole thing. He really hoped this wasn’t a similar situation.

He was considering his options when a tiny voice sounded from the adjacent trail. Curious, Marvin listened in. It sounded like a child calling for someone. He looked down at the Torchic, and it looked back up at him. He shrugged, and started walking towards the voice.

As he got closer, the Torchic became more and more antsy. All of the sudden it leapt from his hands. He yelped as the small pokemon gently fluttered to the ground with its too-small wings. When it landed it immediately broke into a sprint. Marvin followed, panicked, and broke through the treeline to see a young trainer crouched on the forest floor.

Hugged tight to her chest was the Torchic, happily peeping at their trainer. Marvin breathed a sigh of relief. Just an accident.

The young trainer said they’d been separated when a “big green pokemon” burst through the underbrush and frightened the two half to death. She’d been searching for her partner for the better part of an hour now. Marvin was just relieved the two were alright and had been reunited.

The pair parted ways and Marvin travelled back to his post, happy that everything was alright.

Inspiration

A not-so-little positivity post, because I want to make one.

Y'know, I think the Pokemon IRL folks are some of the most talented artists and writers I've seen in my entire life.

The amount of heart, effort, and cooperation that I've seen go on in the community has been so fucking awe-inspiring.

The stories I've had the honor to bear witness to are the most entertaining and captivating works I've seen in the whole Pokemon community, period.

Hell, I've checked out the Pokemon AO3 page multiple times for a few years, and NOTHING on there comes close to the amount of detail, drama, and overall design that you all have somehow managed to put into these roleplaying posts.

From canon divergence, crossovers, to even full blown original characters, Pokemon, and plots, there's a little something for everyone on here.

And I mean it when I say that it's an inspiration, honestly.

You're all a bunch of artists at the end of the day with this, and I have gotten so much creative inspiration from interacting with you all.

I've made full blown songs just by growing attached to your characters, and I have more planned because of it!

I, along with others, have been inspired to craft brand new characters, put them in the same world as others, and emotionally impacted each other in the process!

And most of all, we've managed to create a welcoming and inclusive community where people have made really good friends, myself included!

I had just taken a step back and I'm just blown away by what we've made.

I've been around since the beginning, but honestly? I've had little parts to play in the grand scheme of things apart from inspiring a few blogs into existence, which I am still humbled and blown away by.

And in the end, I just want to say thank you.

Thank you for being so amazing.

Thank you for being inspirations.

And thank you for being a part of this community.
