Just finished Fairest, a quick and easy read that I enjoyed, but I have some criticisms. A large part of the story takes place when Levana is 16, pining over a man significantly older than her that she is in love with who will never be in love with her. She manipulates him to get what she wants, and this is seen as the start of her villainy. But the problem I see with this, is that Levana is 16. As Evret says, she is a child. As Evret says, she is confused and lonely. Cause teenagers, especially of Levanas age, are often messy, and complicated and still not out of the shelter that has been put on them. And this shows. She notices that she’s manipulating him, but doesn’t realize how much harm it’s causing both of them. Because she is a child and confused. Maybe if her story started when she was, I don’t know, 25 pining over and manipulating an older man and realizing what she’s doing is wrong but doesn’t care because of her selfishness, it’d be easier to get behind. That’s just my thoughts. Still enjoyed Fairest (even with the lack of chapters lol)

I appreciate how much of the lunar chronicles fandom is in like, casual, half hibernation.

Because this is a series that’s had no new content for like? Ten years?? And I’m in other fandoms like that and it’s sort of just a core few people who still care and interact with posts. But I post about the lunar chronicles and, even tho the tag is like the same 3 people still posting for the most part, somehow 50-500 people always still crawl out of the woodwork to interact with it

Like I just imagine all of these sleeper-agent blogs doing like the Severance blank stare zoom as their inner lunar chronicles fan reawakens

Had a dream last night where I was talking to some people and it was somehow brought up so I was like “oh yeah I have the entirety of Hamilton memorized, just give me a song and I can sing it top to bottom” so one of them gave me “Hurricane” and I proceeded to sing the entirety of Hurricane. In my dream. Correctly. I might be a little obsessed

Musicals are time loops. Every night, the same thing happens except for a few minor differences. It always ends the same. If you want the characters to do something different or to make better choices, too bad. The actors are bound by the script and the score. The only way for the time loop to end is for the show to close. But you (the audience) don't want the show to close, nor do the actors who would like to be employed. It's a lose/lose situation. For the actors, audience, technicians, and for the characters, who are forever stuck in the same stretch of time.

idea struck while reading @kanashimibeast’s fic “Tightening the Hinge”- (and also a nostalgic re-listen to the descendants soundtrack) what if Volo wasn’t satisfied after successfully failing to garner Arceus’s attention, and instead decided to dethrone Giratina and control all these weird painful abstract concepts to reshape the world? (If he can’t have that, he will be the ruler of the dark and the bad)
