The painting by De Morand titled 'Conjecture', offers the viewer an integration of gestural and geometric abstraction. The painting optimises strong and assertive gestures, composing of fish-like shapes that eloquently flow beneath a solitude of lines and rectangles. The geometric ensemble is magisterial from De Morand's earlier work and governs a strong lateral conception. The two translucent rectangles act as energy containers and prevent any further geometric occurrence.

Straight out of the circular-shaped box the watch can be used with around 15% battery for those who can’t wait to use it. I thought it would be best to give it a full charge and then try out the exciting new features this watch offers.

The box contains not surprisingly, the watch! and an additional strap (which I was pleased with), a small start up book in a multitude of languages and a warranty.

The charging dock itself is a work of art resembling a modernist sculpture that holds the watch in place using a magnet. This dock does not require an additional lead into the watch which is useful for over-zealous hands that could miss the port and scratch the watch.

First appearances are excellent, the clock face is stylised in green/black analogue type and there are additional face designs that can be imported and changed to whatever your heart desires. The silicon strap is soft and flexible and very comfortable to ware. There are two buttons on the side, one to navigate through the menu system and a home button which can power down the watch. The watches bezel turns clockwise or anti-clockwise to assist navigation.

The volume of apps pre-installed is fairly impressive using the watches built-in heart rate monitor the watch can measure your heart rate to the music player app which syncs with the Samsung S7 edge. There are other apps easily assessable that can be downloaded straight to watch including a few Java-based games. I was excited about the ESPN app and receiving sport news as quick updates on the watch really appealed to me. The process involved downloading an app on the phone, but there were issues with the app and it kept failing to recognise my favourite sport choices.

The feature I think is best about the Samsung Gear S2 is how it updates you with incoming WhatsApp or text messages and the short responsive messages you can send back using the watch. There are a short measure of automatic responses that can be selected by scrolling on the watch such as “I’ll call you later.” or simply put “yes”. For users on the go this is great for when life is at its busiest and digging out the phone from your trouser pocket can be at times be cumbersome, especially if your hands are tied. These short response messages can be customised in the phone app to suit your personality more. Like “Make mine a double” or “I’ll be there with bells on.”

The watch does have good longevity as you can customise the strap to suit your mood and with a host of apps to download and photos to upload to the watch from your phone this watch can propel your status from ordinary watch owner to a smarty-pants watch owner.

I am sure this watch will get attention from others who gaze at its marvels as the wearer parades with smirk. How does it compare to other smart watches and more traditional watches? Well the price is good compared to the Apple watch and does everything the Apple watch can do. Apple have a very expensive range for those who can afford it with a 24k gold bracelet and other bracelet types. Preferably, I would n’t spend 15k on a Apple watch, not because I can’t afford it but because I don’t think it will keep it’s value. A Rolex would be a better investment provided it’s worn on occasion. Everyday waring will result in damage so bare that in mind reader’s if you spend a considerable amount on a watch.

The Samsung’s watch is made from steel and has the weight you would expect. This a good point as steel can withheld most knocks compared to aluminium, which is what the Apple watches are made from. More traditional watches are made from steel, plus other materials like gold or platinum.
