there's a post where someone said "can you respect trans women who look like men" and someone responded something like "hell yeah I love people who fuck with gender!" and like... yeah that's cool, but in a lot of spaces "trans woman who looks like a man" is a lot less likely to be someone who is intentionally comfortably presenting masculine, and a lot more likely to be a girl who hasn't started transition, or can't safely, or just didn't or couldn't put in the effort to pass as fem today, and a lot of them will just look like schlubby dudes and not a radically presenting queer person. and you should be able to respect that.

Remembering the time I was asked to remove 'intersex' from my discord bio by the mods of a furry discord server because "this is a sfw space and that includes bios too" and I got so fucking mad I chewed out one of the mods and was promptly banned for "being rude and disrespecting the mods"., As if my personhood as an intersex man hadn't just been reduced to a fucking fetish porn trope and deemed too inappropriate for teenagers to see in my bio.

firstly, why are you being unnecessarily rude about encountering a new term? you don't actually care about the answer, you just found something nonbinary people are talking about and decide to be shit about it.

secondly, tell me you didn't google at all without telling me. if you type "exorsexism" into google, the first page is basically all wiki entries on exorsexism and one meme on reddit that still gives a definition on what it is. exorsexism is a distinct enough term that it doesn't get watered down by a google search, like, at all. you either didn't google at all or you completely lack any reading comprehension.

thirdly, are you new to tumblr? most blogs have some kind of pinned post with explanations about the blog. it's even faster to access than google if you're already on tumblr, and my pinned post literally includes an explanation on exorsexism. you just don't care.

once some nice people came into the comments giving them definitions, they immediately started arguing about how the term was wrong and once again nitpicking everything about our language.

so either they already knew what exorsexism was and just wanted to argue about it, or they didn't and didn't care to learn but were happy to be a sealion. it's obvious when people don't ask questions because they actually want to learn something but just because they want to waste our time and energy.

it's why i don't answer "what is exorsexism" questions on this blog at all, because if you have the time to type out a whole reply or ask, you have the time to check my pinned or a quick google search, plus you'll have a quicker answer than you'll be getting from me.

this is also a reminder to my followers to be careful not to get sucked into arguments that demand free educational labour if you when they don't care about learning.

It’s good that conversations are happening about the specific kinds of oppression transmascs face, but any time I see the term “transandrophobia” I do narrow my eyes a bit, even if it’s in an otherwise fine post. The implication of that term, whether people who use it realize it or not, is that transmasc oppression comes in part from being seen as men, rather than from being seen essentially as “failed men” tainted by femininity (in a very similar, though not identical, way to how transphobes see transfems and nonbinary people). Interestingly, if the idea is for the term to be a response to the idea of transmisogyny, the more appropriate term than transandrophobia would be “transmisandry.” Small wonder why nobody uses that one, huh.
