anyways, I take back everything I said about Farewell to my City in my review of FTHC! I'm obsessed with it right now.
Image descriptions under the cut:
/ ID:
7 different images of London landmarks, lit up in different colors with the sunset. All have lyrics from Frank turner's song Farewell to my City in a handwriting-esque all caps font underneath the pictures.
Image 1 : a photo of Big ben at sunset, with lyrics underneath in a matching gold color. They are:
I realized this part of my journey way coming to a close
and how our lives will be after, nobody knows
I guess I got older, that's just how it goes
and I know it sounds weak but I'll still see you at shows
Image 2: the london bridge at sundest, with clouds lit up in incredibly bright purples, oranges and pinks. the text underneath is in a matching orange. it reads:
I got tired of London, not tired of life
I'm so sorry my darling, to leave you behind
we had a hell of a run there, but I must go down to the sea
while you're always changing, it wasn't you it was me
image 3: a London city skyline, where half the sky is crystal blue and the other half is sunsety. text reads:
Farewell to my city
i'm just one more of your ghosts
Image 4: is of the london eye at night, lit up in white reflecting on the river. text reads:
Farewell to my city
I'll still see you at shows
Image 5: is big ben looking across the london river. The sky is full of little dark clouds on a light teal sky. Text reads:
Farewell to my city
London you can keep my bones!
Image 6: an arial shot of big ben on a hazy day. Text reads:
farewell to my city
so it goes, so it goes
Image 7: is the city at night, looking gold with all the lit windows and streetlights. the sky is almost fully dark except for the horizon, which is beautifully lit up in purple, pink, and orange. Text reads:
So it goes, so it goes

i love you singers whose vocals sound desperate i love you musicians who sound like if you don’t get this song out you’re going to explode i love you songs that sound like they’re dragging the vocalist with them 80 miles per hour down the highway tied to the back of a truck i love you voice cracks in emotional songs i love you unique voices i love you music that disturbs the comfortable and comforts the disturbed

Love pieces of music where you can just feel how passionate the composer was. Like they really put their whole compussy into it and it shows.

Image Description:
image 1: a faded image of people from behind holding their hands up, aparently in worship. Over top of that, in large, regal, swirly black font, are lyrics from Frank Turner's song Fatherless. They read: Have you heard the news?
Image 2: a different faded image of people from the side holding their hands up, aparently in worship. Over top of that, in regal, swirly black font, are lyrics from Frank Turner's song Fatherless. They read:
I finally met Jesus He'd locked himself in the bathroom at the party I had to talk him down he was having a whitey.

ignore the water marks <3
Image Description:
an ink drawing of a skeleton hand, pointing with its pointer finger. around it, in a bold gothic font, are the words: you point your finger so much you wore it down to the bone it's a wonder you can still type that shit on your phone across the image are faint but visible water marks

FTHC is a week old!!!
gave it a few good listen throughs and I want to share my thoughts! It's pretty obv I'm not a critic so don't take me too seriously- also don't expect anything really profound or well written ~( ̄▽ ̄)~*
1. Non Serviam -> honestly, I wasn't a huge fan. I didn't really like that I couldn't understand what he was saying. I really liked the hook about his principles though!
2. The Gathering -> I liked this one when it first came out and I like it now! I have been missing the feeling when we close up the gaps between us.
3. Haven't been doing so well -> this song really really resonated with me. When it first came out, I listened to it on repeat for weeks. Especially the part about not being anything but uncomfortable me- that hit hard.
4. Untainted Love -> phew this ones hard! Several people I love have struggled with addiction, and as I listened to this song I wondered wheat they would think of it. It's a tough song.
5. Fatherless -> another hard hitter! It definitely sounds better with all the background instrumentals than it did acoustic when I heard it live in September! I like the sound and the feel of it a lot.
6. My Bad -> I feel pretty eh about this one. I read in an article that it's a pot shot at Eton, where he went to school. Idk though
7. Miranda -> I adore this song! It's catchy, it's sweet, it's acceptance. FT says trans rights!
8. A Wave across the Bay -> this song gives me Goosebumps whenever I listen to it, but especially on his release live stream when he played it acoustic and it was just so sad and so profound. it has me like
Tumblr media
9. The Ressurectionists -> I liked this one! It is very relatable ( ̄▽ ̄)" I really like the callback to I Knew Prufrock, although it's kind of sad to hear that they've drifted. It's really catchy and fun and I like it!
10. Punches -> this song is fun to listen to! It's not super profound or whatever, but it's a good reminder to keep your head up and keep on punching back
11. Perfect Score -> reading the lyrics, I get the feeling that some terminally online bs inspired this one lol. I like it tho!
12. The Work -> this shit cute as hell!!!!! He also played this one at the concert back in september, and I liked it then and I like it now! I was suprised at how different it sounds acoustic vs not
13. Little Life -> it's a sweet song ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ but other than that I don't have much to say about it. I kinda feel like- little life? you mean the life of the rest of us??
14. Farewell to my city -> a breakup song, but for moving out of London. it was sweet but idk if I'll be pulling it up to listen to again.
15. The Zeitbeast -> a fun song about a little beast that helps musicians! It's cute and I like it.
16. The House where I was raised -> woe oh woe house etc ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
also -> why tf is there no ordering on the song list on his web site? all the songs are jumbled together and you have to fight for your life to find the one you're looking for

I'm really feeling these lyrics this new years. home alone with the cat bc I haven't got any friends. ID under the cut
/ID:
three pictures with black text superimposed over the same background picture. it is of a sand dune, and in the distance you can see a single person walking. they are so far away and small that they're just a silhouette. the text across all three pictures reads:
And I'm lonely
there, I said it.
I'm lonely
but it's hard to admit it
When everbody thinks
that you're fine all the time
and you're not
