Knightmare

Finally done! The flower in the decorative frame is the opium poppy and the mask in the upper left corner with its batwings references the oneiroi, a group of lesser greek gods (Morpheus, Phantasos, Phobetor/Ikelos) who personified different types of dreams and left their home Erebos each night in the form of a flock of bats. Also I think this is my first illustration in landscape format lol.

Some designs for gender-neutral clothings for my 19th century fantasy comic where nonbinary genders are the norm alongside male and female (as well as all other sexualities)

It annoys me that a lot of supposed unisex clothing always defaults to pants, drab colours etc. which in our society is coded male. It’s basically going back to male as default while everything that is feminine coded is inherently gendered and that’s effing bullshit in my opinion. That’s why I try to incorporate more skirts in my designs and more frills and patterns (which you can’t really see here because I did this fairly quickly lol).

Didn’t really know how to do a night-time scene in watercolours properly and deviated way too much from the style of my character designs I posted earlier. Gotta try again!

Early character designs for a new comic project I’m working on. It’s a fantasy comic set in an alternate 19th century in a fortress-city with magic and mermaids/water spirits. Also, nonbinary genders along with male and female are the norm and the main character (the red-head) is agender.

Design for a big sticker I’m selling on cenventions. Eros & Thanatos: the big butterfly is a morpho aurora (Morpho being a surname of the goddess Aphrodite), while the small one is a cupido alcetas (named after Cupid, son of Aphrodite) and the knife and red strings speak for themselves.

Death and the Maiden. The image for my roll-up display that I’m using for conventions. Inspired by various medieval motives like the Hunt, Memento Mori, the aforementioned Death and the Maiden but also by the greek huntress-goddess Artemis.

Cover for a Comicbook I have finished recently and am currently selling whenever I’m on comic conventions or you can buy it online in the online shop of the Schwarzer Turm Verlag (Black Tower Publishing House).

It’s a horror-fantasy story in a 18th century setting about two sisters whose father goes missing in the woods. On their search for him they are confronted with a dark family secret and supernatural beings...
