Hello and goodbye.

This is Admin Y or Yoon, and I’ve been really busy. Busy with school, busy with real life. And busy putting my free time to other interests. You can probably tell when I didn’t post anything lately... That was all of the reasons that I’ve come to write this.

gagconcert@tumblr/GAGCONJANA will be put on an indefinite hiatus.

I’m sorry it has to come to this day, but I just can’t manage as one person and I’m losing the will to do so in terms of interest and priorities. Doing this started to feel like a chore, unfortunately. I’m sorry I can’t reach the 1,000th episode with you guys, or at least last till the next anniversary of this blog on Christmas.

You might say that I should find more admins to join the blog, or pass it on to someone else, but I started doing a lot, a lot of things for this blog that I don’t think I can find someone suitable and trustworthy to take over. There’s so many things to do: Tumblr, Instagram, YouTube, updating the English Wikipedia page, finding BGMs, GIFs (if it still stands), translating official SNS, videos, news, interviews, some HTML/CSS coding to update the Tumblr blog pages. And you gotta be interested in GagCon in the first place.

Think of that, multiplied by more than 50 active GagCon comedians. There are more than 40 posts stuck in the Drafts, and I haven’t translated any of the new GagCon Facebook Page posts because I just can’t find the time to translate everything...

I know I’m such a wet blanket because the 5th BICF is happening tomorrow evening and there won’t be anyone to post the blue carpet photos.

Speaking of BICF, you pretty much wouldn’t know (because I didn’t post ;-;) but something like that happened a few days ago. Yeah. It’s really not the biggest reason that I’m leaving the blog on an indefinite hiatus, but it felt like that singular, very last straw. So many cases of blackface, especially in comedy, and I’m really not sure why Korean comedians still don’t get it. There are so many ways to do comedy while also respecting different cultures.

I’m just... tired that there’s so many people to care about. I love(d) them all for the hard work they put in but this is the breaking point for me. Unfortunately, there’s almost no more reason for me, personally, to spend time on this anymore.

I will be putting my time and effort on someone else, knowing that there are fellow fans who care and support them actively.

What does the latest post of Lee Jong Hoon on Instagram mean? What is he apologizing for?

Judging from the context of everything that’s left of the situation, it seems like he posted a questionable video of a man woman that he secretly filmed and uploaded without any permission of the person in the video because it was funny. I don’t know what that video is, I did not watch it before he deleted it.

News outlets got wind of the issue and he privated his Instagram account. He also deleted the apology note he posted there.

He is also #1 in search terms on Naver...

What happened was that he basically SECRETLY filmed a video of a woman in a bikini at the pool. He also clarified in an interview with TV Report that he didn’t think that it would become a problematic issue.

Jang Dong Min confirms return to ‘Gag Concert’, participating in recording tomorrow

Comedian Jang Dong Min is genuinely returning to ‘Gag Concert’.

According to broadcast insiders on 1 August, Jang Dong Min will be participating in the coming KBS 2TV ‘Gag Concert’ recording on 2 August. The episode will be airing on 6 August.

Previously, according to ‘Gag Concert’, Jang Dong Min attended a recent meeting that was held with the goal of bringing him back to the show. However, there was no final decision made about when he will return to the show.

Comedian Jang Dong Min might return to ‘Gag Concert’.

According to multiple broadcasting insiders on 26 July, Jang Dong Min participated in skit ideation meetings with the goal to return on the ‘Gag Concert’ stage. It is still unconfirmed whether he will be returning and when it will happen as discussions are still taking place.

Kim Ji Min to return to the ‘Gag Concert’ stage with ‘Bongsunga School’ on 26 July

Comedian Kim Ji Min is finally returning to ‘Gag Concert’.

According to the broadcasting station on 25 July, Kim Ji Min will be participating in the recording of KBS 2TV’s comedy programme ‘Gag Concert’, taking place on 26 July at the KBS New Annex Open Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

Kim Ji Min will be participating in popular skit ‘Bongsunga School’. It has been 2 years and 6 months since her last appearance on ‘Gag Concert’, with the end of the skit ‘Old Affair’ in January 2015. It was planned that she would return to ‘Gag Concert’ at the end of last month, but it was delayed due to the sudden news of her father’s death on 1 July.

A tiny rebranding because... it was just weird to call ourselves ‘GC@T’ in the first place. Especially when we opened a YouTube channel, then Instagram account. Now, we go by ‘GAGCONJANA’ or ‘GCJN’ for short.

It basically says “it’s GagCon!” and it uses Kim Joon Ho’s “jana” catchphrase. Hope you like it!

And this time, Song Joong Ki (and KBS World’s delay makes it weird since his relationship with Song Hye Gyo was revealed).

Interesting how KBS World's delayed broadcast of Gag Cin have been echoing RL Korean news multiple times: Oh Nami's claim Park Bogum proposing to her when he & Jang Nara were in a 2nd marriage rumor. Truthfully "Trouble Trip" is not even funny. Not sure if the old men skit & "Quiz Cafe" will last. Awaiting how the new version of "Bongsung'a School" will be received.

You’re right, Trouble Trip/Battle Captious/Blaming Battle did not last. The skit concluded after 4 episodes.

Blushing Old Age is definitely repetitive but I do prefer it over Quiz Cafe.

Not only is there the return of Bongsunga School, We Need Communication is coming back set in the year 1987 - We Need Communication 1987 (like the Reply series). It tells the story of how Kim Dae Hee and Shin Bong Sun met.
