I've been taking my time learning Worldpaint for Minecraft in order to build Mountain Huaguo and have a reference for art so I have consistent background.

Turns out it's hard to use!

BUT don't worry, here's my progress so far

Day 3 of learning Worldpainter:

Still figuring out how to make the mountains actually look nice and all, but I have a clear picture of the kingdom itself!

Sorry the last chapter was short, I am basically writing it as it comes, the only thing that's certain is where waiting for the king ends and where the previous arc as well as the story after start and end!

Internship is done and I am back in school, one week to adjust back to this new schedule again and I can work on the next chapter!

Preparing for the start of this year's school, exams and other things so the comic process might be slower BUT the game is my finale project for school so that is definitely getting worked on.

Please remember that this isn't an AU to LMK and an original iteration of sorts for my game Calamities.

On that note, I may have forgotten some details about Macaques design and want to share the character designs here!

First up is Macaque! (Backstory appearance aka "Waiting for the King" are a bit spontanius designs other than what you see below)

I won't draw the black scelra in the comic because it doesn't look very good and makes him off putting compared to everyone else.

What is the "Waiting for the King" story?

Basically! It's the Journey to the West but from Macaque's Point Of View, for my game called "The four Calamities" or just "Calamities".

The game is based on the Journey to the West and is inspired by Lego Monkey Kid quite a bit, so I had to continue the Shadowpeach in some shape or form!

Waiting for the King: chapter 1 (Demon Bull King's Wedding) - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

I already shaped out how they met and why Macaque is called "Highness", I might make it a different comic though that focuses just on that and maybe include a timeline here!
