SPOILERS FOR BEAST YEAST EP 8 AND ALSO JUST CRK STORY IN GENERAL

basically, they're roommates (equivalent of the Soul Jams connecting them) that hate each other bc they're from rival highschools (equivalent of the Ancients vs Beasts drama) and also Shadow won't tell Vanilla anything honest about himself and was generally rude on the first day.

The school counselor put Vanilla with Shadow bc his last roommate (Elder Faerie) left their dorms and reported Smilk to the counselors so he wouldn't get a new roommate (equivalent of Smilk being locked away in the tree) and Vanilla used to be roommates with Pure Lily but she joined like the Witches Sorority (going to banquet and becoming Dark Enchantress)

Anyway Shadow Milk is just really rude and refuses to tell Vanilla anything honest -> "I'm Majoring in Kicking Dweebs Who Ask Questions, wanna help with my capstone project, Nilly? / Yeah, I actually transferred to [rival highschool] in senior year from Serbia... I'm a prince there, y'know."

So Vanilla makes it his mission to find out at least something about Shadow since they're supposed to be getting along and have both lost roommates (= him entering Spire of Truth)

(Oh and also they're both seniors. Gingerbrave and co. are nosy freshmen who are wondering what these two seniors are still doing in the dorms and wanna know more about Shadow Milk, too. They convince Vanilla to go to a dorm party that they heard Shadow Milk would be at)

Vanilla ends up at a dorm party (Spire of Deceit) looking for Shadow only to find him like totally in his environment. He's surrounded by friends, and like, this is the first party Vanillas has been to. He's majoring in like nursing, and his schedule is so packed he literally doesn't have time . But Shadow is majoring in Buisness, and lowkey doesn't gaf about it anyway, so he has tons of time

Anyway. Vanilla starts going to parties if only to lowkey Watch Shadow like a weirdo freak. But he starts barely getting any sleep and gets like lazy abt his major and generally senioritis Evil (truthless) while Shadow discovers he's been attending parties for him and goes like Nuts with the attention

He convinces his junior and freshman friends (Black Sapphire and Candy Apple) to start inviting Vanilla to their parties (trapping him in the Spire of Deceit) and convincing him to play drinking games and shit (all the weird stuff he did in ep 8)

That's as far as I've got tho lemme know if u have any suggestions.... still trying to figure out how to die in Jesus Vanilla

I imagine Shadow Milk is quite silly when it comes to intimacy. He can't work out his feelings, so he hides behind an over the top, sexual facade. Hence, the cuff. It represents how he feels like he has to chain Pure Vanilla down to have what he wants. I love symbolism!!

Basically the scene I'm picturing for this is Shadow Milk conjuring various "memories" of things he's seen for Pure Vanilla on The Dark Side, basically forcing him to look at them

And theyre a bunch of different stuff and some of them are real memories and some of them are fake bc it's fucking Shadow Milk

But I imagine one would be a very intimate memory of White Lily and Elder Faerie and he'd just taunt PV about it like "Oh even though you do everything for her, she sleeps with this guy she's known for 2 weeks bc she doesn't care about you"

And PV of course is like "no this memory is a lie she wouldn't do that to me" but the seed of Doubt is there
