Byton K-Byte Concept, 2018. Previewing a 2021 production model, the K-Byte is described as being made for the “age of autonomous driving.” To that end, Byton is collaborating with Aurora to develop a Level 4 semi-autonomous driving system. The K-Byte features retractable “LiGuards” lidar sensors located on the front fenders that deploy when autonomous driving mode is engaged. Additionally, the concept has a roof-mounted LiBow system utilising front and rear facing lidar sensors to provide the car with a full panoramic view of its surroundings
