Hello man, I’m curious how would you write a chloe-Andre reunion like 10 or 20 years after cannon season 5, would love to see how you would tackle it, especially if andre tries to downplay his fuckups regarding Chloe.

I can see lots of ways for it to go. I'm dealing with André in barren soil right now. Not with a Chloé-interaction but still there. I don't know that I would do a confrontation in the end. I just see her cutting him out of her life mostly. I can't say I would never write it, but at the moment it's not appealing.

Yelling at André achieves nothing, the man is an anger sponge and would juet do his sloppy sad look without processing any of it.

So one sketch of Luka riding bike has developed into this, complementing the scene between where Luka runs out of his cabin to the scene of him barging into the bakery.

An afterthought… that barging into the bakery was really cool, but when I actually thought about it, Tom or Sabine or any other customer could have stood right in the middle of the shop and they could have run over by bike. It was lucky no one was there in the open space, and Luka at that moment with no imagination to the harm he could have caused… that’s so unlike of you and so not cool Luka Couffaine.

Given the danger posed by Hawk Moth & Mayura going after a Miraculous welder in their own home. Either post Miraculour proving that was the plan or post Miracle Queen. But, the equal danger of him gaining more power if he takes their Miraculous. What would you suggest the responsible thing to be to ensure safety as much as possible?

I mostly ask cos we talk about how Marinette mishandled Queen Bee's situation but I am curious how you think it should have been handled post Miraculour.

The one thing this show is categorically allergic to. *Talk*. It's the only time Ladybug made any headway with Chloé, and it did work, up on that roof in Maledictator. I don't mean 'hey gottago you can't be QB bc reasons!' while running off.

Sit down. *Listen* to what Chloé has to say, maybe about why being QB is important to her. Peel back those layers. Then explain why you can't risk it again, slowly. Offer an alternative plan of action, concrete steps Chloé might take without a miraculous. Maybe they might hit on the idea of offering her another miraculous down the line. It's not set in stone. Give the girl closure so Gabriel can't prey upon her insecurities. She was using a giant bee-signal for crying out loud. 'I wish there had been a sign' doesn't really apply here. It was literally written in the sky.

Since Ladybug was the leader, even then, she has a duty. Taking care of those she selects is the leader's responsibility. 'She's young and unprepared' might be the reason she failed, but it isn't an excuse. Ladybug had a choice back then to walk away at any time.

This isn't to pick on Marinette. You could easily have written a narrative where she did this and it would have made as much if not more sense than what they did. Marinette is unable to learn because if she did the writers might not have their crutch and be able to recycle plots.

Honestly I don't think your take on Derision is outside of the norm. It didn't do anything *new* to Chloé. The message 'Chloé bad' has been a given since they had Plagg look at the camera and spell out the 'pick this not that' situation in Queen Banana.

It's the lengths S5 seemed to want to go to. It's throwing grenades and making others look terrible as collateral. Tom, Sabine, all the school staff, Kim, Marinette, Adrien, Mylène, it made them all look worse just to beat that dead horse.

It's the same vibe as class-salt only it's coming from inside the writing room

You know, I was reading tags on the reblog. And @purrincess-chat makes a great point.

Derision SHOULD have been a season 1 episode.

It would have shown why Marinette was so nervous regarding Adrien, and let’s Kim grow out of his dumb phase. Plus Marinette still giving Chloe a chance After this would have shown how she is still willing to give others a chance.

But really, I don’t blame Tom and Sabine as much as I blame society and the way the French school system is structured. It’s apparently a LOT harder to move schools in France than one would think. Plus Chloé could just do whatever cause corruption.

As for the tone, I do agree that with it being in season 5, it does come off as a dead horse situation. As for class salt… I wouldn’t say it’s on that level. But a comparison could be made.

Chloe's sudden shift in character because Thomas realized they were making her a little too redeemable is SO funny to me. Like:

Season 1: Chloe is a regular, one-dimensional high school bully.

Season 2: Chloe is actually a bit more of a complex person than that, because nobody is pure evil. But she's still definitely an asshole.

Season 3: Chloe is a child who was neglected by her mother and spoiled by her father, making her into the brat she is today. Marinette as Ladybug shows Chloe a bit of kindness that she might not have fully deserved, and Chloe takes those words to heart, working to be a bit better over time. Progress is slow, but not impossible.

Season 4: Chloe is a cartoonishly evil villain who never gave even half a shit about anybody.

Season 5: Chloe just about ruined Marinette's entire life years before the show even started, and is the reason that Marinette stalks Adrien (See? It wasn't creepy after all. Stalking is justified sometimes!). Just trust me, this was definitely the plan from the very beginning.

I don’t care what anyone says the first half of miraculous ladybug season 5 was easily the best half of a season in the show.

You had absolute Bangers like Destruction, Jubilation, Determination, Passion. AND ELATION!

Like how could anyone of those was a peak episode in any season you put it in.

The ease of frightening him had to do with imagination. A lonely mountain landscape was a well of desolation. A sunlight peak, isolation. The most innocent of things can be a horror if your mind goes there.

One of the things I think ml would have had a hilarious time with if they'd committed to Chloe being a better person but still not a "good" one is her becoming that rich kid who throws money at the slightest problem.

Like, she overhears Nino complaining about needing a new video camera or dj set and makes a production out of having Jean the butler (I refuse to call him Armand because that was a stupid retcon I hate) put it out to the curb as Nino's passing by and goes "Ugh, if it gets this outdated unslightly junk out of my hotel you can HAVE it"

Or Nathaniel or Marc were eying some creative supplies for a high end project and they can't afford it so Chloe commissions a giant oil painting of herself and says "I only want the best materials for my painting, keep the excess in case I want another one"

And eventually someone (probably Adrien) puts it together and is like "I thought you didn't like being nice"

"Who's being nice? I got a giant self portrait of me made out of GOLD paint! How is that being nice?"

Like that one scene at the end of Antibug but with more people and everyone else thinking they just got lucky and not that Chloe was trying to be better

Yeah THIS! This is how I imagined Chloe taking baby steps to being a better person would look like. Girl doesn't understand kindness and affection, but does understand gifts are a good thing. It's like, the one consistent form of love she could get out of her parents (mainly her father). It's the least toxic thing she knows and she does it well.

Just a snip from one of my ML fics. Devils and Demons. A song brought it to mind and I began rereading it.

He slumped back, sitting curled with his knees against his chest. Here it came: the unavoidable hangover, the one he drank to chase away. This might be his most strident of betrayals, but it was far from the first. The rest paraded themselves out one by one, dancing in his mind. Each one piled on top of the other all the way back to a shattered mansion, a night of secrets exposed, and the look in her eyes as he turned away.

His mind stopped short of replaying that night in full. He was never brave enough to go that far, but his life since had been one long post-hoc justification for turning away.
