The reason that Mai and Ty Lee start talking to Azula again after the war is that the two of them get into a big fight over something stupid, and they need Azula to mediate it for them, like she always did in the past. And Azula roles her eyes at the situation, but she does it.

I've got one last thing to say for this au, and that's basically that Azula has developed a fightning maneuver with her friends that utilizes her were-koala-sheep form. What's the maneuver one might ask? Well, let's just say there's a reason why Mai can throw her weaponry with such force.

Since birth I'd say. This isn't very DNA accurate (but then again, I'm talking about were-creatures, so whatever lol), but when were-creatures are born in this au, they exhibit traits of both their human side and their creature side. As they get older, they slowly lose the ability to exhibit both sides at the same time. It's like an evolutionary trait, not a suppression of one side or the other.

Eventually, yes!

When the first wave of dragons got in the way of Sozin's plans, he was able to eliminate them. However, he wanted to focus more on the annihilation of the air nomads and left the task to Azulon. He expected his son to take the charge on this as Azulon was pretty effective with how he's able to attack in the air as a were-dragon.

I like to think Azulon was conflicted at first with how easily he was able to understand them. But also, he had this complicated yet overall negative relationship with his were-dragon side that made it easier to be apathetic to the slaying of dragons. Like, he may be a dragon of some sorts, but he wasn't a real dragon, and the depths he went to to prove this was ungodly so to say.

Yes! Which sort of gives a super dark implication to the dragon hunts that I imagine Azulon greatly contributed to himself. And Roku being a were-koala-sheep definitely helped him over the years in regards to his avatar duties.

Definitely a "born with it" vibe. But also, I find the idea of being a were-creature to be a rare occurance pretty funny (like every other generation, the kids pop out as something Extra). Like the last recorded Fire Nation were-creature being Roku and Azulon kind of rare.

Thank! In this au, I'm thinking what triggers Zuko's transformations are volatile emotions, but for Azula specifically, her transformations occur if she surrounded by particularly tasty grass or other similar vegetation.

AU - Azula is the one to fight Ozai during the Agni Kai but she actually fights. During the Agni Kai, Ozai is able to get in a good hit and kills Azula (although that was not his intention). When Azula wakes up, she’s looking at her mother and some random man she’s never seen before. They’re calling her Kiyi.
