FABULOUS PRIZES TO BE WON
Help wanted for a completely pointless task that I could do easily myself but might be fun for anyone who wanted to contribute.
There are blank pages on this in-game noticeboard that need filling out with childish drawings.
SOME RULES:
MUST be crudely drawn,
No copyrighted characters from other works. Legally distinct parodies are OK, as long as they're from works that existed between the years of 1989-1996 (in our world),
Nature and woodland critter themes preferable, but not required,
No artistic ability needed.
No AI art!
Have Fun (Mandatory).
INSTRUCTIONS:
Download the attached TEMPLATE image,
Preferably draw directly on a copy of the TEMPLATE file in your image editing software. However, I will accept whatever method is easiest for you,
Check the EXAMPLES images to see the kind of 'look' so far,
OPTIONAL Choose and write a name on the sheet of the pretend person who drew it,
OPTIONAL Use as many, or as few, colours as you want,
Return complete drawings to me in whatever way is easiest (DM, reply, via Discord, etc.),
Please give me a name you'd like to be put in the credits for your contribution,
No limit to how many you can submit (within reason),
Deadline will be... Whenever really.
PLEASE NOTE:
I likely need to edit or draw over the images to better suit the in-game visuals.
As such, please don't worry about trying to get the pixel art right, or what brushes you use.
Additionally, I will need to swap any colours you use to the closest matching from the game's predetermined colour palette.
PRIZES??:
Since I spent all the budget on free sparkly animated text, best I can offer is a FREE pack of the game's promotional material if your submission is used.
Free shipping globally.
Please see this outdated post for details on the promotional material package.

YESSSS
CONGRATS!!
Designed this mostly complete proper digital storefront cover for my game.
It was time to make it, as the game will be entering what I've declared to be public Early Access on the 31st of May over on itch.io...
THAT'S THIS MONTH!!!
And for freeeeee. The only cost is putting up with it being buggy and held together with tape.

ps- there were going to be more ppl at the bottom, but i did not have it in me to draw them.

LEFT IN THE TANK WILL RELEASE MAY 2ND (FRIDAY)
It will be free to play on itch.io.
It features four endings, a unique soundtrack, a completely comprehensible plot, pieces of my soul now lost to it forever, and .a ball pit.
For my first game, and my first experience using Godot, I think it came out very well!
I am very excited to finally (FINALLY (FINALLY)) share it with you all!

I'll be honest.
Before I knew Godot had a built-in pause function, I was just going to put "PAUSED" on the screen in big bold letters, freeze gravity, and hope nobody noticed.

Main content is done.
There's a lot of "everything else" left to do (A LOT), but right now the game is beatable, start to finish.
It's not a long game, but it's definitely been an effort to get to this point, and I am very excited to release it! Soon. Ish. Relatively.
#gamedev#indie games#godot engine#godot#game development#pixelart#pixel art#i know its been quiet here lately#but believe me#development is as constant as i can manage#and i'm not going anywhere
