I remember this book took me forever to read and I don’t even remember why. Like I literally remember my English teacher commenting about how I still hadn’t finished it and it had been like a month. Crazy I know, but I was tight with her.

I don’t remember a whole lot about this book, but I remember I was rooting for her the whole time. I think I owe a lot of credit towards my own book to this storyline as they blur a little bit if you squint.

I distinctly remember that she turns men into pigs and kills them and I thought that was so cool.

Again another mythology book.

I was crazy about them.

My notes say: “?- 10-28-21”

Which means I also didn’t date this book.

“I loved this book, although it took me such a long time to read. I didn’t have a lot of time in class. I really liked it.”

Cool I guess!

I still liked song of Achilles better and would rather recommend that one, though this one is also note worthy.

Ah. Yes. I remember this book. This was the first “horror” story I read. I was pretty much a scaredy cat as a kid and the first horror movie I really watched was one I can’t even remember the name of.

My mom actually recommended this book to me, as it was one of hers. I bought the first one and hadn’t read it (still haven’t, it’s on my shelf. Twins.) and I just decided to read this one first.

I ate this up.

My notes say for the time it took to read: ? - 9-28-21

Which means I didn’t date when I started it.

I think this is the book about Valentine’s Day? Yeah. Literally ate the plot twist up, had me foaming out the mouth and turning the pages ferociously.

My notes say: “Very enjoyable, my mom read them then gave the books to me, liked this one the best so far from the author. One of my names is the same as a character.”

I have no idea what “I liked this one best from the author” because I had literally never read a book by her before, but I ended up reading more from her and really like her. She’s still on my shelf. So.

This was the second book I logged of reading in 2021. Crazy I know, I was on the booktok kick, but I gotta admit, I really liked this book, and I still fondly think of it from time to time.

At the time of reading this, I really really was into watching Technoblade (miss you king) so I was on a mythology kick. So I grasped at anything mythology related. (My nickname is literally Theseus im that cool).

My mom ended up reading this book and not understanding it at all, but she liked it. I tried to get my dad to read it and he said no. I don’t know why I ever thought that would be a good idea anyways!

This was the first book I “annotated” and read it all the time in class.

Took me longer than “they both die at the end” though. 8-30-21 - 9-13-21

My notes from my journal said “amazingly wrote, loved it. Learned a lot, enjoyed the story. Tried to get my dad to read it.”

All I can say about that is I’m disappointed

So the first book I read in 2021 is when I was in class. I was bored and this book was really popular on tiktok and I found it in a bookshop so I thought “to hell with it, I used to really like reading!”

And that just so happened to be they both die at the end.

This book didn’t take me very long to finish at all. My notes said 8-24-21 - 8-27-21

Who knows if that’s true or not? But I remember really liking this book. My mom even ended up reading it after me I’m pretty sure.

I really liked all the references to music and pop culture in it, and I remember how emotional I got at the end, where the characters you’ve been rooting for the whole time end up dead and just giving up.

This book is what rekindled the flame I had for reading, and I remember picking this up whenever I could. I was crazy about it and desperately tried to talk to anyone about it.

I really liked the part when they all went to that club rave thingy.

All I wrote in my journal (bear with me this is awful) was

“Great, deff one of my favorites, liked the plot. Similar traits. Lived up to its name, read it in 3 days.”

Yeah gross I know.

I’ve been reading books ever since I could read. My mama used to read to me all the time when I was little and every night we would take an hour and she taught me how to read. Then as I got older I went through a huge depression and started to not be able to finish a book due to the length and thickness. I’d get bored and lose hope.

But!

In the past few years I’ve picked reading up again. Of course some take longer than others for me to finish, I’m still in my journey to getting healthy again. But I decided I’m going to be reviewing all the books I’ve read and how long it took me to read them. Because I like to read and keep a journal of all the books I’ve read and I have a likewise account so yeah!

I wanna do something with English or writing when I get older, so I have started reading a lot more.

“you ugly loser! i’m selling you for more beer!” your mom yelled.

“good! i like him better than you anyways!” you said walking over to your new dad without getting a good look at him!
